  1. You can probably find one for a as low as $1600 if you are patient and keep search hard enough. They call it a duty treatment now. It is a metal treatment and by my (and others) guess some sort of ferritic nitrocarburizing, I've inadvertently done some things that would have ruined most duty coats and it did nothing. Marks that I originally thought had affected the finish was actually part of the metal from the other object that could be rubbed off with oil and a rag and be like new again. The vbobs are superior in fit, finish and parts to the cbob it replaced. Most people who prefer cbobs do so because of the polished flats on the cbob. The 10mm cbobs seemed to have had a bit more fitting and attention than the .45s.
  2. You know... I was going to ask in another thread if you wanted to keep your kimber and part with something else.
  3. It would seem lots of folks want to have their cake and eat it too. Over and over people say Dr. Paul could not make any changes as President because he would need the support of Congress. Yet for some reason Obammy is single handedly able to do it regardless of Congress.
  4. --This one I said was true. It is the whole blowback thing. --Partially False- This makes it sound like he is for civil rights for foriegners and he is not. He only believes this for US Citizens and coincidentally the Constitution is his bases for it. -False - not sure what a Coyote has to do with it as the link is broken, but he is only for reducing the military spending necessary to occupy other sovereign nations which would be a steep reduction in spending. He is not for unilateral disarmament. He believes that if someone does wrong to us, the congress should identify enemy, declare war against said enemy, stomp the crap out of them, then come back home. If they do it again, stomp them again and come back home. --Yes he does oppose the death penalty which I don't agree with, but you it's impossible agree with all views of a single candidate. One thing though is that as a Christian he believes in the sanctity of all life. The thing though is that whether he agrees with it or not, he feels it is up to the State to decide if it should be legal and if a state does or does not, then the Fed has no place in it. That is part of the misunderstanding of Dr. Paul. --False -- He believes that the Federal government has no place under the Constitution telling states what to do about drugs and is for Federal decriminalization.. Let the states decide how they want to handle it. Decriminalization at the Federal level does not equal legalization.
  5. Why should we be limited to who two national party tell us who to vote for? It poses a false dichotomy and limits the choices. In business, what happens if there are only allowed to be two who perform like functions? Historically, the more successful one either buys out the other as a takeover or as a holding company leaving the original in tact by name only; or they work together covertly to fix prices. It would seem this is the current situation and it is being furthered by the media owners agenda. To tell someone they should not vote for a third party and must pick one of the two provided by the system, no matter if one agrees with their policies, forces folks to pick the lesser of two evils whether we like hearing the saying or not.
  6. I have a full size Valor with the duty coat that I use as my EDC. While it is not the VBOB, here is a link to a shootout with the fullsize Valor. The only differences being the gov vs commander and bobtail. The Valor would be the last pistol I would part with. 2011 Severns Custom "THUNDER IN THE WEST" shoot-out! - 1911Forum
  7. Since Dr Paul does not support those things other than opposing the patriot act, I seriously doubt George Soros would support him. In fact he would probably do everything in his power to stop him.
  8. So Ron Paul supporters are all Ron Bots? I'm sure folks joined a freakin' gun forum to vote for Ron Paul. The other Republican candidates support the policies that are sinking the ship. Which candidate have you moved onto supporting now again?
  9. It's not like he just became a Republican. Republican 1976–1988, 1988–present in 1988 he ran for pres as a libertarian.
  10. I reckon this forum is not representative. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/national-politics-legislation/65955-2012-presidential-primary-poll.html
  11. Next you'll probably suggest watering the the plants with toilet water.
  12. Santorum is nothing more than a blocker for Romney. He is being used to fly cover and divert attention.
  13. I'd really like to find someone local who does checkering. I have a couple of sets of micarta grips I would like done.
  14. Who does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program? Who returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year? Who has never voted to raise taxes? Who has never voted for an unbalanced budget? Who has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership? Who has never voted to raise congressional pay? Who has never taken a government-paid junket? Who has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch? Who voted against the Patriot Act? Who is out for himself?
  15. Thanks for the tip. I reckon folks who don't allow other's words to manipulate them are all just yella.
  16. Was it assault with a deadly word? I don't like the old wind bag either, but what happened to sticks and stones? I'm offended every time a politician opens his mouth, but I can't go around punching them. If he was being offensive, surely the thing to do would have been to have him removed from the premises and make it a headline where he would be viewed in worse light without question.
  17. Your rights end where the other person's nose begins. Just because someone is scared something may happen, it does not give the government the right to impose on everyones freedoms. That seems to have gotten lost over the last couple hundred years.
  18. Well, if we are doing it based on count, why not also have checkpoints for firearms? 2007 estimates put homicides with guns at around 12,632. It is given that when you try to stop possible crimes (no victim) with a law, freedom is infringed upon. If we were serious about it, we would make the penalties more stiff. If someone wrongfully kills someone the penalty should be the same regardless of the cause. If my kid is killed in a head on collision, due to someone crossing the center line, why should it matter what the "cause" was? It's easy to nail the drunks because they have alcohol on their breath, but what about the folks talking on the cell, reaching int the floorboard or flipping stations? Assigning more "severity" to one cause over another removes our property rights.
  19. How about checkpoints for weapons to make sure everyone is legal with their firearms?
  20. Hank said it best. "Just send me to hell or New York City, it would be about the same to me.."

    Gun Explodes

We are quick to condemn folks based on minimal information. If he was drinking it was wrong, but with the excess of crappy reporting today and the knee jerk reaction of everyone to make judgments of others I'll hold off for more information. We live in the woods and I have empty beer bottles in the trash not more than 15 feet from where I shoot targets. I don't drink and handle guns, but that happens to be where the trash cans are located. If an accident occurred, I could see the report reading like the one in the OP.
  22. If it is wrongful death, the "cause" should not matter. Drinking, texting, putting on lipstick, taking your eyes off the road or whatever.
  23. ATF is a division of the IRS right?
