  I missed this post earlier.  The Thunderdome was the nickname for the arena they used in St Pete.  The Tampa arena was Ice Palace, then St. Pete times forum and now the Tampa Bay times forum.  I just always called it the Ice Palace.  Was lucky enough to see game 5 of the 2004 Stanley Cup there.  Talk about exciting.   You must have made a wrong turn and gone up Nebraska Ave.  Nothing at all cool about those hookers.  : )

Not saying it does not hurt to lose folks but the reaction is disproportionate to the problem.  Per the CDCs 2010 report, homicide is not even in the top 15.   Car accidents collisions are always disproportionately #1 , followed by birth defects and cancer.  http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/children.htm   Turning us into a bigger police state does not seem like the correct response.

  You made my point.  The colleges are supposed to be a breading ground for education not sports players.  College sports should not be profit centers, but instead an outlet and a chance for the kids to have fun.

They should not get scholarships.  Kids risk their futures playing division three ball for nothing but fun.

Well, the last time yall invaded it left a mark.  : )

  Clearwater beach has changed a lot over the years, it's pretty nice but can be pretty busy and is usually congested.  We used to play night volleyball down there and cruise the strip after drag racing at gandy.   Nothing compares to the beaches in Bradenton or Sarasota though that is probably too far of a drive.  Coquina beach is real nice.

  Ask around who has the best deviled crabs and try them out.  There used to be a place called the Sea Breeze on the Causeway and they had the best in town but the Port authority took their land through eminent domain and they closed...

  We would canoe the Withlacoochee. 

  Unfortunately, the Bay does not smell as nice as the Gulf.  : )  Low tide stinks.
