  1. Phbt. Lincoln freed the slaves with the 13th amendment and enslaved all Americans with the 14th amendment. With the 14th amendment he also elevated corporations to the same level as humans in the eyes of the Constitution and is greatly to blame for many issues we face now. Not to mention that he proved that State rights mean nothing to the .gov.
  2. Yeah and if everyone who sat around saying he had no chance had voted for him, we may not be in the predicament we find ourselves. Where is the dignity in voting vote for who you think others will support instead of who you want? If you truly supported the other fellow and his 1000 points of light and his new world order, then good on you for voting for him. If you did it because Perot had no chance of winning, well, that's another story.] Not that I liked or voted Perot, just saying that the cow toeing of the party line based on media BS is to the detriment of our country.
  3. And that is the beauty of our great nation. You are free to believe as you desire and not to have ideas or ideals forced upon you.
  4. Distance makes the heart grow fond and this was resembling a lot of stroking. As far as the point of the thread, you brought up Kerry and the idea that there is ever only two options after I pointed out his greatest legacy to our posterity. Thanks for the lesson on viability. Surely that's what the founders wanted us base our votes on...
  5. And this attitude is exactly why we are in the situation we are.

    "Glock Haters"

I don't hate glocks. They can't pick their owners.
  7. Well, they are progressive. http://www.scrantonpa.gov/ transformed it right into bankruptcy...
  8. It's about damn time. Most cities spent more than they had keeping up with the Joneses. The government needs to step aside so the Free Market can work. What will really happen is the people will be taxed out of their homes so the workers can get paid.
  9. There were other people running for President, so the idea that you could only vote for Kerry or Bush is a false dichotomy. It is that mindset that causes the perpetuation of the two party system which is a false dichotomy. GWB should be judged in and of himself. He had the chance to not sign the patriot act, but did so anyways and now we are further down the path to a totalitarian government. Obama has continued most of Bush's policies and in many ways is merely Bush 2.0.
  10. Fals False dichotomy
  11. Two words. Patriot Act.
  12. Well, it should be obvious that hugs can kill and should be outlawed.
  13. That makes two of us that are not sure if the other is serious...
  14. To your arguments... Are things usually more expensive or less expensive on the black market? Just like prohibition saw a rise in the same sort of crimes you describe, the repeal of prohibition saw a decrease. All of the crimes you mentioned are against the law already. If money now spent on drug enforcement were more wisely spent to have more peace officers patrolling and going after crimes that involve actual victims, more bad guys would be off the streets. Saying that drugs cause crime is like saying that guns cause crime.
  15. Thanks for posting about Lynskey. I wondered what happened to Litespeed.
  16. The term War on Drugs is a misnomer. It is a War on People. There will always be a black market and there will always be drugs. I recall all the news stories about kids eating angel trumpets out of yards when I was in High School.
  17. By this logic, guns should be outlawed.
  18. My oven is a dry heat.
  19. Yeah and some kids huffed white out and freon when I was in school. Guess what? Bunch of them died. The problem will take care of itself. They kill and rob because it has become so costly and difficult for the bad apples to get what they want. There are laws for when the behavior impacts others around and those are all we need. We don't need nanny laws. The main reason we will continue to see more and more things made illegal is because there are FAR too many people who make a living from it. Law enforcement, DEA, IRS, Private prisons, Judges, court clerks, right on down the line. Think of how many people would be out on the streets without the government dole to support their income.
  20. Some folks are addicted to shopping to the detriment of thier family, but it's still legal and freely available Some folks are addicted to TV to the detriment of thier family, but it is legal and freely available. To me, the worst addiction today is smart phones and crap like facebook. Look at how many families are ruined by those things, but they are still legal and freely available. Same could be said for guns and is said. People want to regulate other peoples activities. Not their own. Nothing like a little survival of the fittest to weed out the gene pool.
  21. Recently I cleared my cookies after too long of a period of time. This proved that I had forgotten most of my passwords to various forums and other sites. In resetting my passwords and dealing with many CAPTCHA challenges, it has left me wondering if indeed I am a bot. Does anoyone else ever wonder this?
  22. They don't try to catch them. They employ them.
  23. For what it's worth... I have not flown since the first time I was asked to remove my shoes many years ago and have turned down many lucrative job offers due to my refusal to participate in the charade.
  24. That would be considered groping, which would land you in jail, like that woman a couple of weeks ago.
  25. Caster, you sure you weren't thinking about drones?
