Thanks. -
I believe he said criminals, not civilians. Obviously, only criminals have them... Obama, being criminal, prefers AKs?

Oh, did not know that. I figured the ATF would come up with some "constructive" somesuch to go after him. If he decided to sell it, would it require serial numbers and model info be on it? Or would he not be a manufacturer, so it would not be required? How does that work? -
Fox Admits Romney Cannot Win With Out Ron Paul Supporters

Yes, Fox and the other infotainment outlets obviously have their picks. The agenda extends beyond Paul and is more directed at his policies which are consistent with the Constitution. He just happens to be the messenger, so they use straw man tactics and ad hominem in order to discredit his message. It would not be in the best interest of most multi-national corps if we went back to a more Constitutional government, with less .gov largess and less or no protectionist laws. Perhaps the more liberal infotainment outlets are pushing Dr. Paul in hopes of a spoiler affect, but again, I do know many, many independents and democrats who moaned about Bush the same way folks are now moaning about Obama. Now those same folks are disgruntled by Obama's continuation of many Bush era policies and stuff like NDAA, bailouts, etc and have stated they would happily support Dr. Paul because they feel he would be less likely to impose on their lives and give their money away. Of course, perhaps they are just saying that. I can't say for sure what they actually believe. But It's pretty much history now, as you point out. Handlers can only do so much without asking a person to lie about what they believe and I don't see Dr. Paul doing that. For better or worse, it is what it is. Finally, as Lester points out, it's doubtful he would ever be offered a position in an administration because no one wants a gadfly who may not toe the line. I'd imagine he would accept a position if offered, after the convention and the nominations has happened, but until the runners actually cross the finish line, the race is not over. Perhaps that's old school thinking given the short attention spans of folks today, but what would it be like if a team or person just gave up before the actual end of an event? Why is this any different? In my mind he sees no need to talk about a backup plan and that's the sort of fighter I want. -

Fox Admits Romney Cannot Win With Out Ron Paul Supporters

They may have the same probability, but why are you so insistent on the man quitting before the actual end? My opinion is that Dr. Paul runs and speaks out because he is a true patriot, so it is a valid response to your opinion of why you think he runs. If the savior Romney wins the presidency, hopefully he will live up to all you guys expectations. If not, you are all personally accountable. -

He does not answer the question because it is not relevant at this time. His goal is the nomination and until he actually looses it, he has no reason to talk what ifs. Dr. Paul is running as a Republican because he has been registered as one from 1956–1988, ran as a libertarian in 1998 and has been R since after that failed bid. What hard evidence has given you the idea that his ego drives him? He served his country in the military and achieved multiple degrees, which by your own statement, should mean something? You get upset when someone questions your patriotism and use those characteristics as proof otherwise. As far as accepting defeat, the convention has not happened and he has not officially "lost", so there is no defeat to accept graciously. It would be quitting if he gave up at this point. Sure it is looking like he has lost, but it aint over till the fat lady sings. -

His gun control statements have been made as recently as 2004. So say he has seen the light and really feels different... He supported the wall street bailouts, wanted Washington to save the retirements of the car industry, supports NDAA and I could go on, but why? Not to mention Bain Capital was given to him with no financial risk to him, he most likely misled folks about his involvement and at worst flat out lied on election filings, based on SEC filings. This is a man I'm supposed to support? I see it as a further merger of .com and .gov. Do I really have to choose between communism and corporate fascism? -

If I'd not heard similar statements not made in joking many times perhaps it would have been easier to discern as humor. Or perhaps it was the choice of smiley. It's not like Dr. Pauls supporters have the greatest market share of unsavory behavior. Most large groups will tend toward an even distribution of stupidity and acrimony. Perhaps you just bring out the best in folks. -

Right, that's why I'll throw my vote to Johnson? You get upset claiming you are berated, yet you continue to berate. You reap what you sow. -
It's ok; you didn't read my further explanation in my reply to Lester. Your second argument is a straw man, but yes voting based on skin color is disgusting.
