  1. Meh. The value of "thanks" is debased by over usage. Who gives a rats ass what anyone else thinks about a certain post? I've always viewed forums as discussion boards. Do people sit around during a discussion and say like, thanks or +1? I reckon folks say I agree or disagree, but then usually something of substance is added to go along with it.
  2. Just pretend like the button is still there and click away.
  3. Thanks for the link to that article. It's a good read.
  4. Well, it's not like Maryland had a choice about secession with it's pro confederate legislators being arrested and the cities occupied by federal troops.
  5. Englewood is not too bad. McMinn county in general is pretty economically depressed, but it's still beats a lot of places. Polk county is horrible, so you don't even want to consider it. I've got to ask, what you were doing to even make the folks there in MS question whether you were a yankee? Met my wife who is from the Byram/Raymond area while going to state way back when and I've lived in Vicksburg, Natchez and of course Starkville. Never once was there a question raised.
  6. No way. It would say "Man with 30 round clip..."
  7. Well, a new one from centerfire systems is only $289. http://centerfiresystems.com/cobray-m11.aspx
  8. Sounds suspicious. http://www.forbes.com/sites/kashmirhill/2012/08/06/beware-tech-abandoners-people-without-facebook-accounts-are-suspicious/
  9. Don't know why, but you made me think of this
  10. Tell that to the greeks.
  11. So, what ever happened with the gay-in?
  12. If you consider executive orders, the President does wield a good bit of power. Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation; FDR's new deal and order against hording of gold and japanese internment; Nixon's creation of the DEA and stabilization of prices, rents, wages, and salaries; and Bush IIs creation of the Office of Homeland security are some biggies. Also consider that the President is a single voice that is able to direct public discourse.
  13. Congress is absolutely at fault. Who the heck thinks bills with over 1000 pages of legalese are acceptable? Instead of putting a fence across the mexican border we need one around washington.
  14. While the chance of the scenario is hopefully slim, I think folks are looking at it backwards. He is not talking about just enacting martial law as a power ploy, but in the event of a currency event. Currency events do happen and anyone who has payed attention to the exponential growth in the US debt, coupled with the droughts causing food supply wrinkles, may see how it is a possibility. That does not mean it will happen. In the event that there is a collapse, they will have to enact martial law. There will be no choice because people will go ape #### without their cokes, big macs and tv. They will block off major cities and corral people and distribute food. It will be a humanitarian effort or at least appear that way. While it does appear unlikely, especially given our historical context and perception, most everything in the article has some legitimacy with the exception perhaps of the coordinated preparing between the military and the local law enforcement, since I'd like to think one of our friends here may would leak that sort of info. Then again, maybe he just owns stock in mountain house.
  15. They'll just run dancing with the stars 24/7. That'll take care of half the folks.
  16. Won't need an anti gun law in the gulag. I'm looking forward to the greens though. Reckon they will have pepper sauce?
  17. It's all Murphy Browns fault.... Seriously though, there is a reason they call it TV "programming".
  18. Why do they call the stuff I put on pipe threads dope?
  19. Not against the working man at all. Just against counties and cities that can't balance budgets and think they can tax whatever they want so everyone can live in a fantasy land trying to keep up with the jonses.
  20. You are kidding or just late to the party?
  21. If the Adults were looking out for them, they wouldn't send them to federal schools without an education first.
  22. Yes, I had one at Lucent that had a number of options. The governments grubby hands sucked though.
