  1. I'll rent out the port-a-potty. :D
  2. Is it wrong to sell a house when the market inflates? Does the market bring higher prices when there are more buyers than sellers? Who here sold their house before the bubble burst? Step out of the shadows so that we may shame you into giving a refund! People have the courage to ask higher prices on online forums because they see what's happening on auction sites. Market efficiency with price discovery is at a high level with the information age we live in. Price too high? Market won't buy. Price too low? You'll have people buying to re-sell for higher prices to a market they have knowledge about. We are empowered to make choices - buying and selling both - that suit us for whatsoever reason we choose. I am one who believes that free markets rise AND fall freely. The 2008 AR market boom and bust ought to be proof enough. Is it 2008 or 1994 now? Soon enough, we'll have an answer, and the market price will react accordingly...
  3. I never became politically active until I became a gun owner. I hear air raid sirens in the distance and if we do not act NOW, we are at high risk for collateral damage.
  4. I'm sure the liberals will gladly pay us Tuesday for a hamburger today.
  5. A well-articulated and timely article. This "national conversation" shouldn't be about whether gun ownership is permissive or politically correct, but why gun ownership was so highly regarded by our founding fathers and is still very relevant today. This should be required reading by anyone who enters the political fray. Thanks to the OP for sharing.

    AR-15 mag springs

I have some leftover new stainless springs I'll sell you. PM if interested.
  7. The Glock 19 is one of the best all-around pistols on the planet. If you want out later, it's fairly easy to move.
  8. Rusty, it's the one they advertise; I got it directly from them. Your best bet is to either build an upper (something I've yet to try) or attempt to buy an upper without a bolt. That way, you get the upper you want and drop the bolt into place. The ready-to-go bolt from DDLES doesn't cost much more than a standard bolt, with none of the frustration.
  9. Congrats and THANK YOU for all your service!!
  10. In regards to the phone issue: I don't typically give a number until a deal has been agreed upon. If you don't have good cell service at the house, get the other party's number and drive out (if it's not very far) to where reliable service can be had; THEN call that person. A phone call reveals many things and will either allow you to continue your deal or offer the opportunity for second thoughts. No matter what, meet in a reasonable public place, back out if it doesn't feel right, and never let someone come to your home.
  11. I haven't built an AR pistol, but I priced it out. You're right - it's going to be even money (or close enough) with a carbine.
  12. Only thing I've ever done is upgrade the guide rod in a 17 and 19. Oh, and buy it lots of food.
  13. If I wanted something besides an AR, I'd get it instead. There's something about having a build/variant that isn't on every gun store shelf and present in a lot of folks' gun safes.
  14. With a great story to go with it. Very cool!
  15. Yes and yes. Bolt is ramped, so the standard 5.56 hammer works.
  16. http://www.shop.doub...iver-DDARGL.htm Mine are standard profile 6061, not 7075.
  17. Yes, they're DDLES lowers. I have had the Keltec Sub-2000 and it wasn't for me. I was accustomed to the AR platform and the workmanship. The subbie just didn't feel like home. I've also had a Colt style 9mm AR. I hated loading the magazines. Hated unloading even more. It was neat, but we parted ways. I discovered these lowers from another large gun website. Every post/picture sang the praises of the workmanship and quality of the DDLES lowers, so I got serious and bought 'em. I've had plenty of fun with standard 5.56 builds and the other 9mm rifles as noted above. Is this the cheapest route for a 9mm rifle? Certainly not. Is it what I wanted? You betcha. How much can a body spend on a 5.56 build? Some time this weekend, I'll post detailed pictures of the other side of the lower. I can tell you that it has a proprietary magazine release button, already installed, as well as some other specific things that make this one special. It's more than just a machine-it-and-go type of lower; there's some labor on the manufacturing side to get it up and running. But, for the end user, install your standard LPK and you're off to the races.
  18. They drop as freely as they do from a pistol.
  19. My newest, and possibly favorite, build of all time. Lower specs: Double Diamond Glock lower Standard PSA LPK Mil-spec buffer Spike's ST-2 Buffer springs: JP tuned and polished buffer spring (black), Spike's stainless steel buffer spring (green) Buffer spacer: 1" green nylon rod, machined by a friend to 31/32" and cut to length Magpul furniture: black and OD green Seekins Precision bolt catch, made from tool steel and melonite treated Kies anti-walk pins Upper specs: JSE Surplus 9mm upper YHM ramped bolt, machined to accept Glock magazines by Double Diamond Magpul furniture UTG rear flip sights YHM front flip sight w/gas block (green) Primary Arms red dot (green) The carbines shoot really well. I shot 115 grain FMJ out, then for fun, put 127 grain +P+ through it. On the 8th round, the bolt catch sheared off the green, so I bought the Seekins as a replacement. It's nice to use one set of magazines and one caliber when going to have a little fun.
  20. Meet the twins: Glock magazine fed 9mm ARs built on Double Diamond purpose-built lowers. Shoots like a DREAM!
  21. Sounds like clandestine marketing for Weight Watchers.
  22. Unabashedly and proudly, YES!
  23. I ordered a couple of LPKs two weeks ago and they just arrived yesterday. If you're in a rush, you're dealing with the wrong folks. If you can live with a couple weeks, it's a decent place to go for the money. Keep in mind that the really cheap prices on uppers often don't include a BCG or charging handle. Throw that in the mix and their prices aren't as cheap as you might have first thought. If you want a speedy delivery, check out JSE Surplus. I ordered on a Sunday night and had the box at my door Wednesday. Great folks and good prices.
  24. 127 grain +p+ Rangers No issues with a G17 or G19. Also have some PDX1 124 grain +p from my G26 days.
