I've read the first 15 pages (so far) and I gotta tell you guys... take the time to read this thing. REALLY read it. Especially coming from the Ninth Circuit, there's a lot of beautiful commentary and history of what the 2nd Amendment has meant over the history of our country.   I keep not believing my eyes and double checking the calendar to make sure it's not April 1st. :)   Really though - don't skim, READ it!!

From my experience, true free-float rails are single piece. Sounds like you're interested in a drop-in rail - usually two piece construction.   Just the same, they're a nice upgrade over USGI handguards.

It's removable. The dot itself is a Weaver mount, so you can use it on a 10/22 or the like. It's nice to have the option.

I haven't used the Seekins mount, but I have used them with the UTG mount for absolute co-witness. They're good dots, especially for the price point. They were the first red dots I ever used.   That being said, I just sold the ones I had, as I prefer the EOTech recticle. For the price point, PA can't be beat.

Consider:   -The ammunition panic continues, strong at that -Prices have gone higher and stayed there over the last year -People aren't shooting as much (IMHO), so there's less brass being generated at ranges -SUPPLY and DEMAND   You can't make ammo to sell without brass, bullets, primer, and powder. And on that note, you don't see Uncle Sam selling off any of the other three in large quantity.

  Why not sign these "volunteers" to $1-a-year contracts? Set the terms for how many hours a week/month/weekend/whatever they would be volunteering/working and now you have a bona fide county employee - at a volunteer price.
