  1. I used a Pachmyr on my G27 and loved it. Put a Hogue on the G30 and hate it to this day. Slug plug is recommended, but if you ever use a larger mag (probably have/do) with a magazine spacer, it will interfere with the slug plug. Well worth the money, IMHO.
  2. 9 rounds of .45 ACP +P. 1-2 spare magazines in the car. My theory is that if I need more than 9 rounds to take care of business, I have bigger problems anyway.
  3. Had one for the G27 when I had one. Worked GREAT. Now in the hands of another TGOer. They are well worth the money.
  4. I OC about 90% of the time. The other 10%, I cover the OC with my shirt. I find it to be more a lot more comfortable, especially in the summer. In the winter, I usually have something on that covers it anyway. What I have learned about OC is that 70% of the people don't ever even notice YOU, much less your weapon. The next 29% are either pro-gun or don't care. 1% of the time, I get some surprised looks.
  5. I did. The magazine appears to be normal. For the record, all of my magazines were made by C Products, LLC with green followers.
  6. Doublestar STAR-15
  7. Never had a problem with Federal before... .45 ACP, .40, 9 mm, .22 LR... all ran just fine, NEVER a problem with the big rounds. As far as Wolf goes, does the lacquered steel turn into trouble when it comes to extracting the spent rounds? I've seen the zinc plated Brown Bear and thought that might be less hastle.
  8. The ammo shoots quite nicely, OS. I was splitting flat coke cans into two pieces from 50 yards - good stuff!! As far as I know, the round was normal when loaded. I had fired approximately 70 rounds through the weapon before this one. Roughly 4 failure to feeds prior to that. It has 80 rounds through it at present - all from the same wonderful box. I will be getting some 5.56 NATO to put through it soon... should fix whatever shortcomings the weapon has left!!
  9. It is the M4. I have calipers at work and I will take more pics with calipers in hand tomorrow. As far as getting it out, the weapon would not safety at first. After much frustration and some good advice, the weapon was opened up, hammer was locked back and the weapon was successfully put into safety. Closed the weapon. Next, the weapon's buttstock was pulled all the way in. The charging handle was pulled while hitting the buttstock on a hard surface, and viola, out ejects the offending round. I was advised of the method and then later read it in the USMC AR-15 operator manual. With fresh ammo (from the same box, no less) put into a magazine, the weapon fired just fine.
  10. No joke! Beginner's unluck on that one. Fortunately I only bought one box.
  11. It was suggested I post these pics. Federal .223 55 grain FMJ from Wal-Mart. This round jammed my new AR-15 and locked my bolt up. Can anyone tell me what happened?
  12. Permit renewals can be submitted up to 6 months before expiration. Sounds like they give 6 months for a reason. Handgun Carry Permit Forms
  13. Good stuff. Should be required reading at the academy.
  14. The answer is a Glock 30. Same as a G19, just a fraction of an inch thicker. Both in my household, compared many times.
  15. The last time I got pulled over, I was doing 55 in a 45. First time (and only time so far) I got pulled over while carrying. Gave up my permit and license together. The officer glanced at both, told me to slow down, and let it go at that. In and out in 60 seconds flat. Honesty pays!!!
  16. Got approved 9 days after application and received it a week after that. 16 days round trip. June/July 2009.
  17. School Name: Precision Firearms Location: Cornersville, TN Primary Instructor: Glenn Gurnett HCP Class Cost: $85 Website: Phone number: 931-424-0064 Your Personal Experience: Glenn is certainly a character! He very much knows his stuff and will set you on the straight and narrow. He's a Glock Armorer, so of course, you hear the normal speech. He does his class on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Enjoyed the class and would recommend it to anyone.
  18. I OC'd in a state park when I went camping in the spring. The park rangers didn't even notice it (until I pulled out my permit) when they came around to collect fees for the night. They said thanks and nothing more about it.
  19. Saturday Night Special, if there ever was such a thing.
  20. Last summer, mine was issued 10 days after application was filed and was received in the mail a week after that. Net turnaround of 3 weeks. With all the long wait times I'd heard about, I was VERY impressed with the ease of process and fairly quick turn.
  21. I learned to carry mine at about 4 o'clock and it's comfortable. It conceals really well and doesn't bother me at all. I use an inexpensive Ace Case leather IWB.. works with every Glock I own.
  22. The 30 is great. Recoil is quite manageable and she will adjust with some practice. If it's just for target practice, the 19 is your best bet. Can't go wrong with either one. My girlfriend will tell you she prefers the 19 but doesn't mind the 30. Regardless, always good to know how to shoot EVERYTHING that's laying around!!
  23. WISE choice.. Have 3 glocks in the house and they are truly perfection. You love 'em or you hate 'em. You will LOVE it!!
  24. Howdy guys. Checking in from the southern portion of Middle Tennessee. Read the forums for a long time and decided to join. Nice to know there's other people out there who see things the way I do!
