  1. In an obligatory drop leg holster, right? :)
  2. The best 1911 I ever shot was a Sig from the TacPac. I'd set up water bottles and went back to ~50 yards just for kicks. I blew up a bottle on the first ever shot out of the gun. Didn't have such Tier 1 accuracy the rest of the day, but the first round was priceless. :)
  3.   There are a few pockets of it in my experience, but they come from people who already have deep connections to you or your significant other. From a stranger on the street, forget about it.   Most of my wife's family is good at quarreling with one another. Interestingly enough, the nicest folks I've ever met in New England are not even blood, but treat us better than most of her blood.
  4.   I remember my first passenger experience in Boston. Driving is a bloodsport up there. We are not setup for winter driving like you guys are, but we are generally far more courteous on the highways than New Englanders. :)
  5.   When I bought my non-ad Fire HD, I think it was only another $20 to do it that way. Sounds like the ad revenue isn't what they expected it to be. ;)
  6. I use a Kindle Fire HD a lot at home... great for browsing, reading, and Angry Birds :)
  7. Sounds like the FFL took it in trade from someone.... I thought most FFLs ran serial numbers on potential trade ins against a stolen firearm database?   Edit: Congrats on the recovery, OP!
  8. I'm game.
  9. 4 We join websites that help us learn about new things that feed the animal 5 We build, modify, upgrade, modify upgrades, and upgrade modifications 6 We sell off extra parts and components for what would have been future obsessions (gaining 100+ feedback in the process) 7 We get comfortable with a platform, then complacent, then bored. The itch for something else comes, the itch is heartily and zealously scratched, and then reasons for the first platform are rediscovered and re-appreciated. More feedback ensues. Someone else's turn!
  10. The Republicans won the 2014 midterms with good, moderate candidates - not necessarily the most conservative ones. While it may not quite satisfy us and give us everything we want, it beats the pants off what we've been getting lately... staunch liberalism that had no interest in compromise.    As long as there is a strong conservative wing - and there is - then give me the moderate national Republicans all day.   Haslam has been doing his thing in this state with a supermajority of Republicans in both houses. It's easy to show accomplishment when there are precious few enemies in the legislature. He would need the ability to navigate troubled waters (DC) before being a viable candidate for high federal office. Perhaps if he is ever a US Senator, that would be when his real political skill (or lack thereof?) would come out.
  11. Send a PM to TGO David. He is the man 'round here. :)
  12.   It's nice, but not 100% necessary. I don't personally think the accuracy is significantly altered, especially when shooting paper targets. If you're looking for a match grade barrel, you're probably going stainless anyway.
  13. CMV = Chromoly Vanadium, the material type CHF = Cold Hammer Forged, a manufacturing type   The CHF mid-length I have is also double chrome lined.
  14. Get the CHF in midlength. It's outstanding. Midlength is my personal favorite instead of carbine, especially with a Spike's ST-T2 buffer... I find it to be a little bit softer.
  15. I made this just for you guys :)
  16. No tax. Just $57 plus $5 for priority mail to get it there. They cover shipping back to you. Glock charges $57 times the number of slides you send in.
  17. I've bought a pistol there every time I've been in. Fortunately for me, I've only gone in once. :D
  18. He seemed way too callous on tv. If that happened to me, I'm in deep mourning and the media can bugger off. The last thing I'd wanna do is talk on tv. And turn the tables? REALLY? When you let a guy get the drop on you while unarmed, there's not likely to be a turning of the tables. Good on KSP - I think justice will be served here.
  19. I'd rather be judged by twelve than carried by six.
  20. Ran across this and couldn't resist. It's Halloween after all :D
  21. Holy #### on the .308. Is some third world country having a yard sale?
  22.   In my non-researched opinion, if they cut the "wasteful spending", it wouldn't have a meaningful enough effect to reduce the cost of a permit. They could be giving away manufacturer's samples for all we know.    Further, if we are truly the patron state of shooting stuff, isn't it better to promote safety and awareness? It's something that I think the state is doing here, as a reasonable extension of their bonafide mission. Also, I'd much rather the state make an appearance in this manner, as opposed to what some of our northeastern neighbors' agencies (read: New England and New Yawk) do... raid, agitate, and try to run off lawful, peaceful gun ownership.
  23. I'm pullin' for KC. Not a Giants fan... or fan of most West Coast teams.
  24. My local store is not posted and I have OCed in there while picking up an order several times. Just for what it's worth.
