TCA Title 58, Chapter 2 (Disasters, Emergencies, and Civil Defense) as a category is a good place to start.

Oh, justice will be served and the battle will rage: This big dog will fight when you rattle his cage. You'll be sorry that you messed with the U.S. of A. Cuz we'll put a boot in your ass - it's the American way! Hey, Uncle Sam put your name at the top of his list, And the Statue of Liberty started shaking her fist. And the eagle will fly and it's gonna be hell, When you hear Mother Freedom start ringing her bell. And it'll feel like the whole wide world is raining down on you. Brought to you courtesy of the red, white, and blue. -Toby Keith

Writing a letter CAN make a difference!

Do you know of any readily available statistics on HCP and our unique quirks? I would enjoy seeing how we are economically stereotyped -
Writing a letter CAN make a difference!

When you consider that retail sales growth is often measured in low to mid single digits, I say to you that 2% makes all the difference in the world. -
I have been pulled over once since I started carrying. I pulled over, placed my hands on the steering wheel, rolled down the window, and waited. Officer introduced himself and I handed over my license and HCP and informed him I was carrying. I don't remember if he even asked to see my insurance. He simply asked me to slow down, be careful, and have a nice evening. The best option is to not be doing anything to warrant being pulled over to begin with. But if you do, be uber-polite, most respectful, and do everything in the world not to be perceived as a threat.

Nice work. It's supposed to blend in first, be eye candy second.

I think of it in similar approach to buying a car or a house. Lots of folks buy the biggest, best car or house they can buy with their cash or credit line. Not all of them consider the costs/needs that don't immediately meet the eye: insurance, maintenance, furniture, etc. Also, you must consider how much time you are spending in/with said asset. If you're home a lot, you spend a little extra for more space. For a car, spend more for the features you will truly use and get your money's worth. Similarly speaking, don't spend all your money on the weapon itself - consider upgrades, maintenance, holsters, ammunition, range membership, etc. Think of your top dollar as the top dollar for the package of these things. My personal recommendation would be a good, used Kimber or Springfield.

Buy a well-regarded self defense round and you'll be just fine. There are a lot of excellent choices in 9mm these days. As previously stated, where your target is hit is key for an effective threat neutralization.

I had enough faith in the Glock safeties when I bought mine, that I feel no need to change anything. Otherwise, I wouldn't have bought a Glock in the first place. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I think that's still giving far too much credit to a generally unobservant public. -
Nice shooting! Glad your 3 years of searching was worthwhile.

Close the Car Show Loophole!

If you close the car show loophole, you might experience gas rationing next. -
That's fair market for a brand new one. My first was a Doublestar and I still have it.. good gun for the money!

This may not be the right place to post, but it seems the most logical. I live in a small town in a somewhat rural part of the state. When I went to town for dinner the other night, I spotted a large coyote roaming the streets in town, eventually running through a field between two city streets. I saw a small pack of 4 coyotes running down the road last summer. My question: When may you shoot a coyote? City/county boundary limits? Is there a law regarding this? I think the end result is obvious if I'm out walking at night and one comes upon me. What I'm thinking about is a preemptive shot if I see it across the street from home in an open field. Thoughts and input are greatly appreciated.

I wager that the DM being a HCP holder made all the difference in the world. -
Good question. I picked price. I generally know what it is I'm after and do my research before acquisition. Staffing is next though.. I won't do business with folks who act snobby, are too "busy" to treat me right, or really just don't know what they're talking about. Last is selection. If what I want isn't available at a shop, I don't stick around.

This is priceless and is a GREAT way to get a point across. +1 for the folks in South Dakota.

I work for family in an area that's very much off the beaten path. Police response time isn't the greatest - we're easily 15 minutes from town and not patrolled much. I figure if a situation presents itself, it's up to me to protect myself and my employees. Being in an isolated area had plenty of impact on my decision to carry, but as much as anything is the rise in crime and the boldness in which crimes are committed in today's world. The day my permit arrived in the mail, I had my lady bring the permit and handgun to me at lunch time. I refuse to be a victim and reject the possibility of being without OPTIONS in an unfriendly situation.

I really recommend that you try shooting all of them at some point before you buy. I wager that some friendly TGOers out there will let you meet them and shoot theirs, as long as you bring the ammo! If I was out that way, I'd meet up and let you fire some of mine. If the weapon you really want is only another couple hundred bucks, save up and buy it. It's worth your wait. Don't settle for a weapon less expensive just to "have" something. I skimped on my first handgun purchase, only to trade the thing in a few months later, take a bath on the trade, and buy what I really wanted (a Glock). I have been very pleased since and learned a valuable lesson: pay a little more and buy once, rather than pay a little less today and shell out more later.
