  1. Pepper spray and a hammer... even a Florida jury could figure out they weren't there to sell girl scout cookies!
  2. A home invader is a home invader is a home invader. Take out the sympathy factor and society's pre-determined image and realize what you're dealing with. Evil knows no boundaries and will take any image.
  3. Either a good used Kimber or the Sig Tac Pac. Look it up on Bud's, one of the best deals around IMHO.
  4. Ol' Mike needs to keep selling financial data, not hawking bad ideas about gun owners. Can we say epic fail?
  5. I got popped by THP on the way to Knoxville a couple weekends ago. Definitely earned my ticket. Fortunately, I don't make a habit of getting pulled over. I always put my hands on the wheel, just to keep things friendly. I told the trooper I had my HCP, was carrying, and would do exactly as he told me to. He asked where my license was (left pocket) and the weapon (right hip). He told me not to mess with the weapon, but then chuckled and said I probably wouldn't do that, since I'd told him I had one. He was also very appreciative that I'd been up front with him. While it may not seem like a big deal, he really did return the favor. I know my speed was 91 or 92 in a 70. He wrote the ticket for 89. Why does this matter? 90+ MPH requires a court appearance and can mean big problems. You can't just mail that one in. At 89, I get driving school and no points, no insurance increase, and no hassle. It does pay to be up front!!
  6. In liberal speak, "good moral character" = "we may choose to not like you". I think it silly that they do a check of that nature, as opposed to the hard facts in a person's criminal background. I'd like to know what will pass their smell test. Thanks again for all your efforts and hard work, Fallguy!!
  7. I see nothing wrong with it. It takes two to make a transaction. If you don't want to haggle on buying/selling, it's your call... but it doesn't mean others can't. I hear people complain about how they paid too much or took too little. But at the end of the day, the transacting party accepted the price they did business at. You have the option to decline a transaction if you don't wish to do business at that price. I work in an automotive-related field and the customers can be cut-throat. We rarely get asking price - it is negotiation all the time. Quality, reputation, service, speed, knowledge, confidence, and the all encompassing satisfaction with purchase are important elements... price is but one of the many factors and is by no means the greatest to all customers.

  9. IMHO, there is no comparison in recoil between any size 1911 and a G36. I carry a stainless 1911 officer a lot and I find the recoil bearable. It has a bit of snap to it, but there is enough weight in the frame to help absorb that energy. On the flip side, a G36 frame has a minimum of weight and nothing to absorb said energy. No comparison between a government size 1911 and officer size 1911 just the same!
  10. Big +1. The recoil of a G36 is awful... reminds me of a G27. G30 is mucho better in that department. My favorite is a G21 though!
  11. The G30 really isn't much of a baby... it's essentially the same size as a G19/G23. Just the same, a wonderful weapon!
  12. I have my own personal copy in 2 years when I renew.
  13. Sure enough:
  14. It just looked like something was missing off the list... seemed to fit right in. I keep a .45 handy for unwelcome visitors.
  15. Don't forget the French tickler!
  16. Quick check of the Commie Appeal would indicate he's not a HCP. I was hoping not, considering he tried to handle the weapon by the trigger. And for the win, WSMV reported he had pot in the car.

    Bulk ammo

I had extraordinary fortune at Cabela's when I was on vacation earlier this year. They had just started carrying Federal Champion .45 ACP (formerly Wal-Mart only). Their normal retail was $18.99 per box of 50 and they were running a sale online at $16.99 per box. I approached a manager and asked if there were any discounts available if I purchased in quantity. He offered me $14.99 per box if I bought at least 10. He said he knew he was cutting his margin, but since I was a "volume" customer, he wanted to make me very happy and keep coming back. I walked out with 1,000 rounds at $325 out the door. Don't be afraid to ask. You may get pleasantly surprised at what some of those guys will do in order to make their sales number.
  18. What ever happened to settling private disputes privately? And if it isn't the poster's property, why drop those kinds of comments publicly? Just sayin'...
  19. Way to go Fallguy! Thanks for doing what our tax dollars did not.

    This.
  21. Wyatt, For a process server to have served you, you must have accepted his paperwork. If you don't want to answer the door, don't answer it. As far as these comments about opening the door and ordering him to the ground, that's a stark violation of self-defense law. He has to forcibly enter before you can start issuing orders. You did the correct thing - you called the cops and asked them to intervene. Being on the other side of the door and being ready for forcible entry is well within your rights. You have to remember that these guys will use any tactics they can to earn a response from you. I don't condone any of the alleged tactics used in your story. However, keep in mind that you shouldn't escalate the situation to a whole new level by introducing a firearm.
  22. Moral of the story: Making laws more restrictive for everyone, based on one person, doesn't help. The determined find laws irrelevant.
  23. I swear by the pistol grips. I have them on all my ARs... won't use anything else!

    Kimber

9mm 1911s are a lot of fun to shoot. Minimal recoil and lots of accuracy. I have had several Kimbers pass through my hands, including the one I carry and trust my life to. All were great weapons, no issues with any. HIGHLY recommend them! Krunchnik, she still looks good!
  25. Sounds like a big Rube Goldberg to get the guy's girlfriend to dump him...
