I have ordered new and used. All arrived in a couple days, no problems. YMMV.

Short of barring statistics, there will always be a "1%"....

Once every couple of days is fine, imho. I've been seeing ads get bumped every couple hours recently. Broadcasting desperation usually isn't good for business.

Mike, I thought you'd blown into your harmonica a little too hard. Had me worried for a second!

My Apt Complex says I can't have my gun in the apartment.
Glock30 replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Might I ask what apartment complex is putting you through the ringer? I lived in Murfreesboro once and wouldn't mind going back some day. Sounds like we almost need a list of "Do Not Rent" locations. -
TOTALLY different situation. That law applies to the scrap sale of copper only. If you sell steel, stainless steel, aluminum, junk a car, etc., you show your ID (as has always been the standard) and walk home with cash on the spot. Copper scrap sales require either a check by mail (next day) or a 5 day waiting period, after which you can go redeem your voucher for cash. That law was put in place to combat the epidemic level theft of copper. That law does not apply to normal, every day people. I deal with scrap metal at my job and my experiences are as stated.

Yep, sure does. Private property. If the security guard doesn't like the color of your shoes, he can ask you to leave. I had to go to the ER some time back and was carrying. The hospital is not posted or anything REMOTELY like it. Being a good patient, I read all my paperwork before I signed anything. One line on the paperwork is that the patient isn't allowed to have any weapons and they're subject to confiscation if found. Now, the hospital will be confiscating something else should they try to keep any firearm of mine. I DID ask the girl behind the desk about it. She had the uh oh look on her face and promptly called security. Though I didn't like it much, the security guard escorted me out to my car to disarm and then came back in with me. He was very polite and a HCP holder himself - but employed as UNarmed security. Bottom line, non-posted venues are subject to the whims of whoever is on duty.

Pulled over in Illinois, what would you do?
Glock30 replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Need to read a great piece of case law - People vs Holmes. Long story short, out of state permit holder came through Chicago with an unloaded weapon in his backseat armrest. Turns out that an out of state permit = IL FOID and all the magical things that allows you to do. If you've ever gone through Illinois or have considered doing so, you REALLY need to read this.. and read it all the way through. A LOT of good stuff in there!! http://www.state.il.us/court/opinions/SupremeCourt/2011/April/109130.pdf -
I'm finding more and more malls doing these silly kinds of things. I've pretty much swore them off accordingly.

Not NEAR as much crying as would happen if someone gets killed.

Shame that animals like that will face an early end, but there's probably not a better way, especially in the interest of public safety. On that note, paging the .458 SOCOM....

Carrying a "Compact" 1911 - "Advanced" carry gun?
Glock30 replied to Viracnis's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Bet you can get some great first hand experience/opinions tomorrow... You're RIGHT there! If I was loose tomorrow, I'd bring my 1911s and let you try out all the sizes. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/events-gatherings/62372-october-15-2011-middle-tn-meet-shoot-cmhr.html -

Just because you disagree with a system doesn't mean you should call for its collapse. Keep in mind that the life savings of literally millions of people, who have worked long and hard to get there, could be placed in jeopardy. If you don't want to be involved, don't be involved. But don't wish financial holocaust on a lot of good, honest people. As for the original post, taking out the public information website is one thing. Taking out the infrastructure of the trading system would be another, much more serious event.
-
The safest way to do a deal is to meet in a public place, meet under bright lights if it's night time, know who you're dealing with, and have good communication before meeting. Talk to the person on the phone. If you're not comfortable, don't trade with someone. But if you're not comfortable, figure it out before you both go to meet. As others have said, see a TN DL or better yet, a TN HCP.

Is there any way to break out repeat offenders from first-time offenders in the data? THAT would be a telling statistic. Probably belongs on this statistician's wishlist Thanks for the fair reporting, Brian, and best wishes with this particular write up.

When the market says it wants lower prices, someone will accommodate them. Nobody said you get the same or better quality for a lower price. In this case, Wal-Mart and its competitors will do their best to cater to the low price point, medium price point, or in fact, all price points that result in a sale. I am the first to admit that I will occasionally shop elsewhere to get in and get out, but I am also choosing to pay more for that convenience. It boils down to three choices: go with the flow, do it better, or just put a lid on it. How can anyone whine and complain about the ultimate of American success stories?

Here's a good link to see:*Advice about Possible Loss of U.S. Citizenship and Dual Nationality I believe the deceased person in question has earned expatriation (loss of citizenship) by figuratively chanting not only "Death to America", but by recruiting and indoctrinating folks with the express purpose of destroying this country. There it is, by the book - he isn't a US citizen.

Maybe the secret decoder rings will actually work this time...

I support the intention - I OC a lot myself. The problem you may see is that some businesses may consider you to be soliciting. By handing out literature, you are doing just that, even if that same literature was saying how wonderful Joe's Supermarket is (while being inside Joe's Supermarket no less). Put soliciting with the negative impression that some folks have about guns in general, and you have 2 +2 = 5 on your hands.

Massachusetts Logic: Knives Stab People....
Glock30 replied to Glock30's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Have you ever looked at the application for a Class A permit? Class A allows high-cap mags and is the only one that allows carry. My lady's family is up there and I've looked into a non-resident permit. You have to appear in person for the final stages of a permit approval. Blech. No idea if the ban passed or not. -

I wager that registration and a $200 tax on short-blade knives would heavily curb the ownership and manufacture of the same. -
