  1. Pete, keep your M1, I want to go with my "rebuilt-by-me" M1 Carbine. My concern is zombies will disrupt the delivery of .30cal...the Achilles heel of retired military caliber firearms. 6ish lbs, handy from <10' - 150', 25 round mag = 16.1oz. Easy to reload (so I hear) easy to maintain in the field and swap out parts and right now, easy enough to buy replacement parts and put them up. Bayonet lug If needed for up close and personal zombie work. What's not to like?
  2. How was your class with Tiger?

  4. To muddy your waters, both Ruger and Marlin made 9mm carbines, they occasionally pop up. Taurus had / has one, based on their LE model. The review I read said this 600-800 gun took 10 round proprietary mags... I've got the flawless bottom rung, a HP995, other than the 10 round mag, it runs and is fun
  5. You should get your hcp in a few weeks. Welcome to TGO
  6. Keep em coming, enjoy your vids
  7. In light of this thread, I tried back pocket carry with a MK9 in a Desantis Nemesis and a gjohnsoniv original. It can work, depending on attire. My opinion is a cover garment is required. Too easy to get your pocket picked, the holster has no retention beyond friction and with a two finger pull, you may not notice it's gone. In my case, a sport coat / suit jacket gives the required extra length that an untucked shirt may not. Get.a.good.belt. (it will change your gun carrying life) With my unloaded gun, I practiced a bit. Guess I'm an idiot, because it doesn't appear to be dangerous. I don't actually sit on the gun either, with my pants at waistline, a quick adjustment as sitting allows the gun to ride with muzzle canter down, away from the back of glut or upper leg. Not sure how sitting on it could cause a discharge if in a holster. The object would have to penetrate my pants, the pocket fabric and holster to press the trigger (important consideration since I want a no / low snag - minimal controls kind of set up)
  8. Over the top? Looks like it's ready for some more add-ons
  9. The article states the seller has the final say; based on the buyer's very public record of being dangerous (even though he DID come to Jesus) the seller was being prudent and could legitimately be concerned the buyer's record was not current in the system. As Nelson says so well, "ha ha"
  10. ...when I was into Legos... http://www.brickarms.com/weapons.php
  11. Modern JHP .380 will get the job done. I'm sure our 938 owners will weigh in. Practice 9mm is cheaper than .380 which is the only reason I no longer have a .380 pistol.
  12. Already it begins, against gun control, you're for the terrorists. Subliminally trying to sway the mob to include you and me under the terrorist label since we've got guns too? Fact: I may need to be more heavily armed as the threats to me and mine have escalated from the random home invasion, managing unknown contacts on the street or even being in a movie theater or church on the wrong day because some pissed off dude snapped. No more denying "that sh!t don't / won't / can't happen here." Lone wolf, who cares, target, who cares, sure bonus points for the shock value, but any nightclub or den of sin (school / public place) would have worked...they are still matyrs and instruments of propaganda. By all means, please infringe on my rights to effectively protect hearth and home because a manifested force of evil used a gun.
  13. 59 is tough with the qualifier "all" Sample size is probably buried deep along with any geographic data. You are on the money, it's how media spins the facts.
  14. Reported on WUOT, 91.9 on your radio dial, er display. Will be requesting permission for premium increases. I swear I heard "by an average of 62%" PERHAPS the 62% increase is spread amongst all the policy holders remitting premium? Equally? Yikes. I have done no additional fact checking. Rename it the Affordable Care Tax
  15. Airplane? Thought is was a bathroom.
  16. (Polled) post Pulse Shooting agree we need stronger gun control. From a Soundbite, last week, Hilary If true, 90% is a huge number, you and i would be getting confiscation notices by now. Another example of liars figure but figures don't lie. If you were asked the question, "do we need to keep firearms out of the hands of terrorists?" Yes or no. If yes, you are for more gun control. And so the headline is born.
  17. No knowledge, just a lot of googling over the years... PTR 91 or CETME? Don't know if they fit your requirement of "Good quality"
  18. Ran 6 mags, 3 usgi (1-15, 2-30) and 3 Taiwanese (1-15, 2-30) Don't think it's the mags (yet)
  19. https://www.yahoo.com/news/democrats-line-gun-control-national-security-102310047.html Clever spin - If you are against gun control, you are for terrorists getting guns. Sick.
  20. I too have noticed less participation. With my recent projects and learning new stuff, been trying to be a little more proactive with related posts to the projects. A resolution was to witness and testify, haven't done that on TGO, it would certainly be lively.
  21. Ultimak rail installed, solved the ejection problem. Revealed a second issue, bolt not stripping fresh round from magazine. Bolt also not moving far enough to the rear to catch the LRHO notch on the mag follower. I did replace the guide (recoil) spring, it was longer than what I removed. Will replace spring, function test and report back. Did get it sighted in, now I really want to bang away to see if the Millet SP1 red dot holds zero and holds up. Only way to use irons will be to remove the sight.
  22. And the Fed is guilty of being the largest enabler of, if not a direct participant in, straw purchasing under U.S. law, if those rules were enforced outside our borders. It seems to me the foundation of most gun law is to keep guns from being sold to, purchased buy or gifted to "dangerous people" either directly or indirectly. The U.S. sells and gives arms, indirectly and directly to dangerous people, all the time. I don't believe the founding fathers envisioned a central government with armed minions, coupled with one of the most powerful standing armies on the planet. I believe one reason for the 2A is they COULD envision a central government with armed minions coupled with one of the most powerful standing armies on the planet.
  23. Thorough cleaning / inspection of firing pin channel?
  24. I was ordering some magazines are checked out availability of 9mm, .30 carbine and 7.62 Tok and .303 Brit. Had it all at prices $2- $3 cheaper per box than I've been able to find without buying in bulk. Shipping starts at about $15, so you trade tax at $150 and still save buying small quantity. Not sure it makes a difference, but even to my very limited experience, I can tell the difference in the case between the PRVI.303 and Rem UMC .303. The Rem is a better machined piece of brass.
  25. Thanks for positive report since I bought one, $90 to my door from primary arms. Impressed with the quality of manufacture. Now I understand why rails and mounts can get pricey...comparing a nice piece vs. the budget stuff I usually buy. Got to Dremel some material from the stock for the front clamp and I should be good to go. DID YOU LOCK TITE? Saw an article in my googling refering to the M1C as the original PDW. Best I can tell it'll do all I need it to out a 100-ish yards. Like your set up, I went with folding stock for covert in plain sight transport. For you gals and guys who just like to shoot your M1C, switching your original wood for synthetic is a pretty affordable option. (Since it's your zombie gun and has a Type 2 barrel band with lug, Fulton Armory has bayonets which won't break the bank)
