Discovery is releasing Harley and the Davidsons in September. Whether the true story or a fun version, the adverts look pretty cool.

After YouTubing some DIY videos, I took a closer look at mine. From the vids, the nut should be flush then peened. Mine is slightly recessed. I am ordering a new piston and nut (And wrench) What is correct install of the new nut?

M1 Carbine, rear sight question
A.J. Holst replied to A.J. Holst's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
When I bought this sporterized money pit, I mean unique fixer upper opportunity, the existing scope mount used the rear dovetail. The front rail set-up opens the rear dovetail. It looks unfinished, so the flip style is the budget solution. -
Are the early flip type interchangeable with the later ramp; same dovetail?

Looking at some YouTube videos, both with and without, I probably need to buy the tool. -

Extractor is damaged. How hard to replace? Reasonably cheap through Fulton Armory with new plunger and spring. Thanks! -

Obama goes after gunsmithing

You mean gun control laws (or any intrusive .gov regulation) can adversely impact the economy? Why do you confuse the issues with facts, logic and critical thinking? -

Other than revenue generation to pay for the salaries of the people they have to hire to administer and enforce the new regs, what will be accomplished? Unless these home builders are currently illegally selling and exporting. -
To use a bad pun, the Devil is the the details. For me, the deeper dive into how one is drawn into drifting allowed more critical self reflection with the specific fears and brides discussed between Hill and the Devil. Also enjoyed his insights into health and wellness and the problems with education in 1938, still topical today

Well, all those untrained folks are walking around already, is getting them all in one place more or less safe for me? Worst case fear, the first gun gets drawn or discharged through idiocy, then like the wave in Neyland Stadium, more and more guns are drawn. Add adrenalin, poor trigger and muzzle discipline with a large crowd = high rate of fail.

Defensive Shotgun Aug 7 Chattanooga Area
A.J. Holst replied to Cruel Hand Luke's topic in Training Discussions
This was a great class for me; not a hunter or skeet/trap guy, so other than blasting away for fun, my shotgun experience was limited. You don't need any fancy gear either; decent sling, I worked out of pockets and repurposed fishing gear bag with adjustable shoulder strap. -

Don't know what to add without sounding like a Randy fanboy or aggressive salesperson. If I ever get my M1 carbine running, I would like to do another close range rifle class. -

The real issue ssue may very well be "individuals" trying to exist within the collective -
A book by Napoleon Hill. Interesting read, especially considering the author, Hill, claims he has a conversation with the Devil himself. Yeah, the father of self help and the power of positive thinking, held a Q&A session with God's antithesis. So far out there, it was written in 1938 but the family did not allow it to be published until 2011...Hill calls out religious and educational leadership and shows how the the Devil (or these negative forces) are influencing their institutions. A less religious view could be the negative powers of nature, order/chaos, good/evil, creative/destructive, etc. Whether an out of body experience, communicating with a conscious sub conscious or with some kind of manifestation of negative energy, it is very well written. If anyone would be interested, I can post some stuff from book for lively and civil conversation...some of the content is relevant today.

I haven't seen the Tetra for sale locally, will keep my eyes open, thanks for the recommendation. I've got some old fashion Riggs gun grease on hand. Btw, love your avatar When I see it, I simply substitute your screen name for Fred Garvin then mentally complete the line...cracks me up every time. -
Stripped down Liberally applied CLP Will re apply tomorrow after I get access to my bother in law's air compressor. Replaced hammer and guide spring. Anything I am missing or should address? Recommend lubricant to keep it running well?

I've got both a 2" and 3" SP101. 90% of the time, I'm shooting .38/.38+p Great for carry, plinking and home defense. I do have upgraded grips, and had some work to make the action better. 25oz on the 2" if memory serves, so it's not a lightweight. Maybe look at an MK9? Mine replaced the SPs for carry and has similar shootability traits. I like mine a lot

And the police, who are trained in traffic and crowd control are powerless to enforce any pedestrian or vehicle traffic law.

Jails are full to the brim, immigration courts are probably back logged for years. They're not dealing drugs or committing acts of violence with guns or bombs, so they are looooow priority. Apparently there is no concern about what these criminals actually do with the money collected after expenses.

It's a scam, unless the IRS is staffing call centers with middle East accent required... Wife got a call 3ish weeks ago, When she called back, answered, "hello," then "transferred" it sounded like a residence with a bunch of folks in a basement. 212 area code if i recall

It's sticking. A tap will will extend it.
