  1. My son knows the Washington State fight song, thanks to John Candy in Volunteers. Welcome to our mountains! Merry Christmas
  2. In the event of a transfer, you don't have to be a resident to participate. Merry Christmas!
  3. Merry Christmas!
  4. Merry Christmas!
  5. Santa Baby, since Mrs GtG is getting decorations from Tiffany this year.
  6. Carry the 17 rounder as your back up mag if dress allows. I like the fact the smaller frame accepts the higher capacity magazines.
  7. Love your jungle carbines!
  8. Double post
  9. M1 Carbine project still underway. Discovered additional milling on scope mount needed. Spent brass still pinging the mount and being thrown forward. Mouth of case slightly deformed as opposed to the dent I got first go around. One more cut and I'll be ready for a carbine class. PSA: if you ever want to modernize a beater M1 Carbine, PM me, I can save you a lot of time, agrievation and keep you from pouring money down a...I mean help you stay in budget. Love the Burris FF3, Excellent for both eye open to 25 yards and 5-10 around my empty house. Super compact, so it is aesthetically pleasing and practical with the clearances I have to work with. Solidly built, AR rated, so I am confident with performance on the M1c. Battery accesses from the top and the sight has a very low profile. Learned the FF3 requires a very thin bladed screwdriver to adjust, thank you my lane neighbor for the hand up... I usually carry a 3 multi tools to the range, Avid Gun, Leatherman and a Victorian ox. (Had to keep the spell correct) Only had the Leatherman today. Got to price check my micro carry against retail...Yikes...Even pretty in pink I think I got a deal. It does reinforce my thriftiness - buy / trade used for common brands and models. They had a preB 75, finish was well worn, advertised as fair. $299 It was crowded, but spotted three S&W 59XX (couldn't make out last 2) $349 ish if memory serves. While perusing the long guns, I see a CAI C308. Cool I says, seen these on the internet...as well as the PTR91. In my inexperienced hands, the PTR is most robust and better finished. If / when I ever go this direction, I'll pay more for the PTR. They ain't kidding about about the stretch to reach the charging handle. The PTR required a much more substantial effort to charge as compared to the C308. Also saw a used Bersa Thunder Plus with 2 mags for $329. Just the extra mag is worth buying the gun...One reason I sacrificed mine for my first M1 Carbine. Couldn't find the $40 extra mags. Certainly not a plug for Bud's, just some out of the ordinary stuff in stock right now. Range time is still $20 / hour
  10. Be prepared. For what? Any old thing... Have fun!
  11. This has been around
  12. Let's us know how well they work out after a few rounds downrange.
  13. LMAO Btw, Kimber is sending me a new plunger and spring at no charge. Rep didn't even laugh at me (much)
  14. I remember when Sears announced earning were greater from finance charges earned from their credit card and Discover than from the sale of actual stuff. Thinking on it, Ihaven't made a Sears purchase in 10+ years
  15. Thanks Res, the top one is a Gemini Custom with XS sight and Trausch Grips. The other is hand polished with Mother's, light internal work, hiviz sight and grips from Gemini.
  16. I scuffed them up, can't tell what they're made of. When I was sanding, just a very fine dust. Clean well, Mix up the dye and drop them in?
  17. I'd like further proof they are female models.
  18. Removing pink grips from a Kimber Micro Carry. Ensure firearm is empty. Lay firearm on flat surface. Remove grip screws. Remove grip. Allow safety to rotate forward. Launch safety plunger and spring somewhere in your office or workspace. Tell yourself the pink was so bad, it was worth it. In my defense, I've seen pink done well against satin, even my wife (who loves pink) didn't like shiny, Pepto-bismally shade... I think I can re finish the grips with some kind of coating for way less than buying and neighbor Dave may locate the originals.
  19. Metal detector or wanding. Then everyone INSIDE is equal
  20. I Buy that high priced .380 ammo? Don't think I'm bad off at $400 even for a gun I wasn't planning on owning. My neighbor also keeps the economy going through his constant new car upgrade program.. I think he thought it would be a cool Christmas gift to encourage his (younger) girlfriend to get into shooting with him. A blue Tiffany box probably would have served better, but I don't want to cast aspersions on anyone's character or choices...
  21. I acquired a Kimber .380 micro carry about 6 months ago for $500. Buddy was funding a new project, needed some cash and promised to buy it back... Posted in the trading post, member in Nashville interested, neighbor steps up and has 5 Benjamins. Phone rings yesterday, "dude, you gotta buy it back, it's bad." OK, come on over... Double take "I sold you this pistol with rosewood grips and 4 grip screws, it appears it have been re equipped with pink grips and 3 grips screws..." "Like I said, it's bad, give me $400, if I find the grips, give me the other hundred..." (Find the grips?) So I think I may keep it. Gonna get some manly grips, shoot the crap out of it and see how it does. As a new Kimber owner and comparing it to my other go to handguns my initial impressions are positive. Machining appears to be neat and clean, good fit, finish is evenand above average I think the gun has been fired 24 times, it is lnib. Equipped with standard non- dot, non- illuminated blackened steel sights which show visible rust spots. Seems odd to cut the corner when the rest of gun so nicely finished including softening all the edges. It is smaller, thinner and lighter than an MK9; grip length is virtually identical. Can anyone recommend a lower priced reliable .380 for practice?
