  1. Saw RB/B/B at Madison Square Garden...got to be 40 years ago... stirred up some forgotten childhood memories...
  2. Curiosity piqued until I saw the price point
  3. Google as much as possible, Glassdoor may give some insight. Working for a gun mfg'er sounds cooler than automotive... Especially for similar dollars
  4. Take a less expensive gun, wouldn't hurt as much for a shield to get missing as opposed to a custom 1911. Or get your dad to buy something, borrow it for the trip and ffl it back? For $97 you got some disposable income lol
  5. Cost-wise I've got a HiPoint 995 up to a CZ Custom SDP and Gemini Custom SP101 and stuff in between. No collector grade firearms, if I own it, I shoot it (or carry it) I'll never go into debt for a purchase (though I've been tempted by Harvey's 10% down and 10 no interest payments)
  6. With the round top bolts available online along with a brother stationed in Korea, I wonder how much law I could break with some M1 carbine parts...
  7. Hoppes #9 for deep clean I like the CLP products, slowly replacing as I run out of other stuff. Carry a small bottle of Hoppes Elite oil (bottle doesn't leak) in my range bag Whatever gun grease for my CZs. Since I haven't had a failure due to lubrication, I suspect I don't qualify as a high speed operator needing mall ninja products.
  8. May be stopping by Academy on my way home tomorrow, I've had good luck with the Monarch in my CZs.
  9. https://youtu.be/qrt2q6Mpeyc Be careful you don't get locked in
  10. Never have so many owed so much for so little to so few (or one)
  11. I am officially old, the two consulting surgeons look as young as Doogie Howser
  12. Flu symptoms are gone, at UT ER right now for crippling abdominal pain Diverticulitis...With a perforation Looks like I'll be here a few days
  13. Thanks guys, feeling less crappy this morning.
  14. Started Saturday, been out of commission since Monday. Have (had?) Some deals I think I could have closed for a decent year end finish. Since there is not much that can be done to expedite the process, would you all care to pray for some healing? I don't usually subscribe to faith healing, but this really sucks.
  15. Goes nowhere except the loss of time and money for it to go nowhere. It's OK from the Dem side. Squandering resources from the Rep side, look at the millions spent and hours lost investigating Hilary has come to naught (at least right now)
  16. I sincerely believe that we should require individuals to register their firearms,” Favola told the Times-Mirror Monday. “We should know who has what firearms. It should be helpful information on many levels.” Favola said a registry could help the state identify where and why gun violence is prevalent and potentially whether there should be more restrictions in areas of heavy crime. 1. You don't need information on law abiding citizens. 2. Law enforcement could direct you to those areas with gun violence and higher levels of heavy crime (for free)
  17. And saying they would or do doesn't mean they actually do. Lots of macho manly men brag here on TGO
  18. I hadn't thought about paper tri-folded and folded again maps in years. As I recall Dad had great maps for the Eastern seaboard, neatly and properly folded
  19. We were blessed financially this year, no major expenses, repairs or illness. It helped us be even more generous with our charitable giving. We also wanted to be discerning with our giving; local with low admin fees. Karm, TN children's home, Smoky MTN children's home and children miracle Network/East TN children's hospital were all selected. It seemed the more we gave, the more we had for our Christmas. Sheer coincidence makes the opium-of-the-masses just that much better of a high.
  20. Thanks for all the positive remarks!
  21. Ever stay at that no-tell / motel they demo'd? Was in Bristol, all hotels books, rooms available. YIKES. I was a smoker at the time and was choked out...
  22. I wish I was 18 - 21, or 22, 23...
  23. The grips were pink, simmered in black dye for 1.5 hours.

No longer pink; I liked the way the dye job turned out, I'm going to re-sand and subject to another dying. I also like how well the 7 round mag fits the frame at the mag well. Hopefully I will test it tomorrow
  25. I've got a 75B and P01, both have been my EDC.
