I was at Bud's today, numerous ARs in stock DPMS, SW, Ruger, Bushmaster priced from $500 - $650 I thought I saw a DD piston for $699. I would like to see the rank and file assrmbled AR at or below $500...

Upgrades = 4x the cost of the pistol price?
-
Currently has some used CZ75s, Glock police trade ins, and good pricing on 9mm and .380

I am humbled by your responses, you can not know how much I appreciate all of you!

My phone takes 15-19 years off my age. I knew upgrading would be worth it.

My follow up for my diverticulitis is still open ended. My colonoscopy is scheduled 6 weeks from now, depending on the results, I may be under the knife for surgery, removing about a foot of my sigmoid colon. My preference is no surgery, but prepared for the worst case. If it is God's plan, a little faith healing could be in my future, so prayers are definitely welcome and appreciated! May God bless and protect all of my TGO brothers and sisters!

Not identical, maybe fraternal?

Suggestions for my Kimber Micro .380? Have experience with both DeSantis and Remora. Open to traditional and wallet styles. I also have a GjohnsonIV original and as affordable as his work is, I have an Amazon gift card...

Funny! I was disappointed to hear of the violent protests. The rascist right didn't impede either of Obama's Inaugurations.

OS, Maybe they realized an American made AK would be double a Russian import equivalent? How are they paying for the new facility and 40 employees with no sales? More Trump money funnelled through yet another Russian shell company?

Not very exciting, but I'd like to get .357 lever. Realistically, I probably need to add one AR (maybe an AK) and something in .308 (that FR8 in the trading post looked interesting) Good on pistols...

Knoxville Ice Bears game now comes with a Wanding and pocket search

They were wanding at the convention center during Fantasy of Trees. Guy at door announcing, "any weapons, please return them to your vehicle. U turn, than thanked by security when I returned. Told dude since you're checking everybody, I'm OK with it. Not sure if this is new SOP, so be prepared. -
Woops. (TSA and Airport Police incident)
A.J. Holst replied to suspiciousmind's topic in General Chat
Had a tube of toothpaste confiscated last week by Philly TSA. Knoxville TSA passed it through outbound. Few years ago I had a credit card tool taken by Orlando TSA. I "smuggled" it through Knoxville. My wallet went through screening in Knoxville sitting on end against the side of the tray. In Orlando, it was laying flat, clearly showing the knife blade...No security check. Currently in Palm Springs, from Knoxville, checked bag, no contraband, smooth through security. Heading home Friday and the Obama family is arriving in PS for some r&r so I assume horrendous additional security at PSP -
Excellent Help Desk support Crisis averted!

No experience with this product, but I think Optics Planet has great selection and pricing. I also think their website is pretty user friendly. My past experiences at point of sale and delivery exceeded expectations. The downside is the very limited return window to Optics Planet before it reverts back to the manufacturer; OP is quite responsive advising you on how to contact the mfg'er once they're out of the loop. Don't do what I did, buy now and end up testing it too late. Ultimately got a replacement from the mfg'er, no harm no foul.

A good pen, practical and tactical

Note: if you have large hands, the one I have would be pretty ineffective as a weapon; you'd still have a cool writing implement. So yes, length can matter... -

Pointy stick? -
I directly upload pics from my phone to the site. Noticed I am reaching my max MB allocation. Is there an easy way for me to find older posts with pics so I may delete the photo? Thanks, AJ

Found mine at BladeHQ -
I usually try to carry a good pen, over 30 years, I've probably been through 10ish pens. Most were sub $50 price points; purchases were to replace a loss or saw a cooler pen. In sales, they suggest you have a step up pen for a variety of reasons. A metal barrelled pen can be repurposed in a pinch; emergency ice pick in case you're sliding off the roof of an icy train, disassemble and use to blow a stream of air into a fledgling fire? A metal tube is more useful than a piece of plastic. Then I discovered tactical pens. Can I find one, is appropriate for business and be way under the radar? This one is from Boker, barrel is micarta, tip is aluminum coated with titanium. I really liked the look and is airport friendly, The clicking action is satisfying. Not shown is the clip which does not disappoint. They didn't cheap out and it is what I would expect on a quality knife. I opted to try a Fisher space refill, I like it and the price was in line with branded refills for Parker, Cross. It's a medium tip as opposed to a fine tip. Fighting with a pen. Yep, thought about it. Yikes. In a life or death situation, that close, no other weapon, I got to jab this thing into the BG. It's got a pointy-end, but sharp it ain't.

Shootable sub compacts are the bomb, I ended up going down the Kahr path. I'm willing to pack the extra weight.

My recommendation is shoot milspec and and upgrade so you can truly compare. If it's that much better, based on how you're going to use your rifle, plunk down the coin. I've been lucky with some of my handgun acquisitions and can compare the action of the SP101...a DIY project vs. a Gemini Custom and a well broken in 75B Omega vs. a CZC SDP. The CZs do have different trigger systems, but the SDP (as well as the GC SP101) is noticeably better.

Great topic. I've added a small bottle of lens cleaner with the corresponding cleaning cloth. As a 40+ year glasses wearer, I can confirm: do not use anything like a brush, paper towel and those pre-packaged lens wipes suck. For simple smears and prints, my experience has also been good with (or without) a few drops of water and simple cotton t-shirt or silk tie.

Flu like symptoms beginning Christmas day, no flu shot (ever) Diverticulitis with a perforation has similar symptoms, had that treated the following Thursday - Saturday with antibiotics via IV (as opposed to emergency surgery, praise God) While enjoying the hospital, I did not inquire if I had the flu, was told my white count was "elevated"
