.380, all of South America can't be wrong. After checking out ShootingtheBull, I bought some precision one. He did the tests, so it should work. Runs reliably through my Kimber Micro. Did not reliably extract from the FI (and no, Doug is not just not finding out as he reads this) Comparing the FI to a similar era Llama i once owned, I think the FI is a little better. Prag, thank you for your friendship as well!

Doug /Erik, Thank you for the kind words, it is my pleasure to have had the opportunity to meet both of you. Regarding the transaction, Bulk Hungarian 7.62x25 brass, non corrosive. Cleaning out the closet sale price, under promised and over delivered! We did some trading, my favorite, to complete the deal. BG is know the proud owner of an FI Industries Mod D .380 with the coolest roll mark ever "Wash DC" It fits Doug's needs as it adds another .380 to his standard defense caliber. I'm pretty happy as it took a neat gun from a drawer and gave it a new life in the daylight with someone who will appreciate and use it.

My 75B is an 06 model with thousands of rounds fired. Replaced the recoil spring at some point, used the original plastic guide rod. Sent to CGW, returned with new, but plastic guide rod. If non metal is inferior, why weren't all these firearms designed using metal? Save a few bucks doesn't make sense since so many are duty rated and approved Mil/LEO firearms. It is plastic; inspect periodically for damage or wear. If metal is superior, KAHR shouldn't have to recommend replacing the entire metal assembly after only 2500 - 3000 rounds.

My disappointment comes from seeing occasional great execution. They have some talent and can win. Yes, the players have to perform, but the coach is the person who takes that individual talent to obtain consistent, successful team execution. If Butch and his staff don't have that intangible skill, they need to find work elsewhere.

CZ52 and a PPS-43c
-
John, if for recreational or novelty purposes, go back 70ish years and look at 7.62x25 tok. I think this is cool little round, new mfg available on line, PPU actually makes a HP. The guns that shoot it however, are not necessarily shining examples of higher end, precision made, comfortable shooting delivery systems. Of the handguns, the CZ (vz.) 52 uses a neat roller-delayed system and sports a Buck Rogers look. I've got one - from the internet, seems to be the best made/assembled of bunch but I havent handled a TT or it's clones. Recoil is minimum, ergos were a secondary or tertiary consideration. Parts are available from Harrington. I recently obtained a PPS-43c; cold war stamped steel goodness. Choices are limited if you end up going down this rabbit hole...come on down and join me.

The Gorilla the antis haven't identified (yet)

If we as gun owners start being more diligent with securing extra firearms, it should reduce the 200,000 per annum theft rate, shows we proactively using responsible and reasonable precautions and helps take away the argument. As I originally posted, a few of my extra guns are not stored in my safe and secure only until a drawer is opened. How inconvenient is it to lock up, then access the extras? Not too. Tactically sound to lock them up? Normally have a gun on me and not likely to experience a John Wick style home invasion requiring multiple handguns stashed in critical locations. -
https://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/press/fshbopc0510pr.cfm Bad guys are getting relatively few guns through straw purchases, dishonest FFLs, LGS smash and grab, and even .gov sponsored programs like fast and furious. The source is the estimated 200,000 stolen annually through burglary and property crime. That estimate is for reported theft... I have an alarm and alarm dog, safe neighborhood. I need to rethink gun storage. They are all safe and concealed (for my residence - only two of us) but they are not secure from someone opening a drawer or three and having easy access. I foresee the antis rallying around the secure gun storage issue to place a huge burden of liability to dissuade new, reduce existing, and ultimately remove firearms. Certifications of an approved and properly installed safe, additional locks on the firearm, illegal to store a loaded firearm, etc, etc, etc. We are seeing some of this already, if the have a Cause backed with real data, "common-sense" legislation can be enacted.

My Ruger story begins with trickery... A few years ago, my phone rings and the call id reveals an international call, it's my buddy calling from Afghanistan. Buddy as in high school, best man, etc. This particular conversation included, "what would be a cool revolver?" I like the size of the SP101, so my contribution was: 3" barrel (slight improvement when shooting .357 Better grips and front sight. Some improvement to the trigger. Months and months after the conversation, I went to visit while he was home. He hands me a box and inside is a beautiful 3" SP fresh from Gemini Custom and Andrews Leather holster. Bead blast finish, billboard removed. XS Big Dot front sight. Cut for moon clips. I swapped the grips, the 3" is sporting Trausch Grips. Bob, I'm not sure how to describe how quickly the cylinder rotates when you begin actuating the hammer for SA or trigger for DA for the next shot, but is seems amazingly fast. I teared up and gave him a hug when I noticed he had my initials engraved on the frame... Note, the 2" also came from Buddy in a trade

Trip to Bud's earlier today. Compared my two CZs. Equally accurate for me, 2" groups, 10 rounds, 5 - 7 yards. Next time out, I'll compare using the torture dot drill, starting at 3 yards. Aim small, miss small my friends. The P10C is pretty darn nice, but I prefer my 75B. Considering the minimal size and weight reduction, if I can't carry the 75, I can't carry the P10C"ompact" For my purposes, it is perfect as a backup, perhaps equipped with a light and covertly carried in the pictured under the radar backpack. Discovered my eyesight is catching up with my personal race to 50. Focus on the front sight, focus on the front sight, why isn't this working properly, close one eye, nope, well hopefully my mechanics are good enough, those sights are just for reference anyway... -

If you carried one of those Aiwb... "Yes, that is a gun and I am excited to see you." Leading to Blazing Saddles, "excuse me while I whip this out." Bob, glad you're here! -
Cdisales out of KY (found on GunBroker) appears to have bought all of S&W used steel/alloy 9s for resale

I'm glad we helped UK become bowl eligible so early in their season; I thought I heard one of the announcers mentioned they've only qualified this early twice.

CZ75 was in military service for near 40 years then replaced by a variant with a NSN, the P01. Do I win?
-
75B and P01 (though I like P10C better than the P01) or clones. Any brand with mag compatibility is a plus, you could get a G17, skip the 19 and get a 26. M&P 2.0 is a winner from reports here and elsewhere.

I was going to insert some Hi-Point torture tests, but remembered someone posted this a while back...

I'm not a Glock guy, so I will chime in, especially on the customization perspective. I love the simplicity and reliability that G-Locks provide. I prefer the ergos of my CZs. Regarding the $500-$600 nib price point: a lot of great options today for less, but used is a different story. My Glock started as a sub $300 Gen 2 G19. Off the Bowie Tactical for G26 grip cut and radius reduction, and NY1 "-" trigger. Result is a great $600ish package. Reliability and simplicity I love, improved ergos, and with the 10 round mag, conceals height wise as well as my Kimber Micro. The extended mag gives enough additional grip to makes it fun to shoot and very controllable with the added bonus of the G19 site radius. Whether you spend $450-$650 on the gun, by the time you upgrade sights, find the right holster, and obtain spare mags, I'll bet we are all within $100 comparing our go-to / primary handgun. I can also argue my semi custom / higher end non G-Locks would have a substantially lower return on investment than Mrs. GtG's stock G3 G17 or my 19/26

A.J. Holst replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
David, My buddy is really digging the 2.0 as well, that's how I ended up with the P10C. He shoots it more accurately than his stable full of brand name competitors (HK, Glock, CZ, upper end 1911s) and was a previous Gen 1 owner as well. -
In about 2 weeks, I will be starting the process to convert my PPS-43c into a SBR. Why? Because without a stock, I can't really enjoy and use the firearm for effective legal and sporting use. In it's current config, it should be stamped, "not particularly dangerous to target, know what's beyond." I am pretty sure I am understanding the pros and cons of individual vs. trust. The extra $200 should make it easier to transfer when I kick. Leaning towards a trust, any Knox area attorney recommendations from the posse? Please PM me if you prefer some additional level of privacy. Thanks! AJ

Erik, comparing it to my 2 upgraded 75B variants and a custom Glock (Bowie Tactical) I am impressed. PM me if you're out and about, if we can hook up, I'll let you shoot it.
