When all seems lost, praise God. A series of coincidences stemming from a radio preacher I heard Saturday morning on the way to gun class. Basically, he told me when I am in in those troughs and less guarded against Satan and all of his works, succeptible to the glamour and temptation of sin, or at the very least, bitching about my current lot in life. He shared a story of a preacher who visited a severely physically handicapped girl, who was reported to be a radiant beacon of light. When the preacher met her, he discovered the device used to strap her deformed body to resembled a coffin. He asked her how she was able to be so cheerful, to which she responded, "At night when I wake up, I see the stars are they are my blessings, one is for Mother, one is for Brother, one is for Father...but Pastor, I still have stars but have run out of blessings." Perhaps an illustration of all that is seen and unseen? Those blessings that I am totally aware of? Shared this story when I got home; praise God that I have both feet on the ground, that I have a beautiful and supportive wife, roof over my head, food in the fridge, clothes on my back, decent income and a job, son just got promoted at work, I found an amazing support group on TGO, the peace of knowing Christ and certainty of eternal life Later that evening, my wife received a call from a friend, close but no longer local and infrequent contact. She told my wife what a difference she made and continues to make in her life. I think and discussed with my wife; all those things you did without strings attached, all those years ago, the blessing from the Lord is the knowledge that you did make a difference in someone's life. Praise God!

You can get a basic, reliable AR for $500. I have an M&P Sport 2, been flawless. Ruger also hits that price point from time to time. Since I've got one, I'm good to go for my needs, so a wall of black rifles is pretty boring to me as well.

True. Many victims versus all would have been a better statement. It seems to me if you choose to live in a city, you either understand and accept that you have a higher risk than your countrified neighbors or live in denial.
-
Specifically why random shootings near the interstate? Here's an example of random shootings in a densely populated city I can't explain, perhaps you can. https://heyjackass.com/

I think it's ordinary for city dwellers. They all sport a victim card because they live in denial: Never saw them coming Never thought it would happen to me Things like that only happen to other people. Population density helps. I am sure there are some certified bad a$$e$ needing to be in prison to protect us from them, walking around East TN. They're spread out within about one million people covering an area about 200 miles NE to SW and 100 miles wide. I also suspect it's easier for gangs to manage smaller blocks of geography vs. country miles.

Russians, need I say more?

Dimensionally they have to be the same size as polymer. Certainly more rugged, but haven't read about many Glock mag fails.

The peaks and valley of life, also called undulation. Well, I'm in a trough and I need help. The problem is I'm discovering my patience and attempt at graceful living is being sorely tested on things not directly impacted by this specific valley of challenge. I humbly ask that you pray for me: for strength, courage, and patience. For change to a better place. That the Lord would continue to work on me to be His obedient servant. And that He would have mercy on me, a recovering sinner, and increase my faith so that I can reflect the light of his Son.

Not until now. His Wiki pic would be great for Jeb's thread https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horace_Kephart

And I thought firearms entered the system illegally through straw purchases, property theft, and us gun owners exploiting loop holes and selling to anyone with dollars in their hands. Thank goodness we have the ATF to keep certain dangerous firearms and accessories out of the hands of law abiding, tax paying citizens. I'm sure this is just a one off, because they do not have the resources to find all the other one offs.

Embrace your inner Bernard Cromwell! The Archer's Tale Agnicourt 1356 Supposedly Benjamin Franklin said if we colonials had long bows, we could have decimated the packed ranks and battle lines of British Army.

If I can't avoid a close range fight, i believe I can end it quickly. Active shooter / terrorist attack with rifles, hopefully I work my way to my stuff, whether in my car or hotel room. Where is cover, concealment, exits and if the herd is stampeding, what does that look like? It's not paranoid, simply paying attention. Like others have posted, I'm not going to hump a under the radar backpack with rifle caliber pistol stowed, based on fear. I'll be as prepared as I can be. If I'm armed to the teeth, like at my car when it goes down, should I run towards the gunfire? In a good position to return fire? What's in front, behind? How quickly is the sight picture changing during the chaos of the stampede?

I had been eyeing the Nessmuk simply because of the grip, pinecone stabilized in green resin In person, even better. Didn't know what a Nessmuk was, found this article http://www.thetruthaboutknives.com/know-your-knives-the-nessmuk-knife/ Worth every bit of $100, but when GT offered a two for one, I was in. The hand selected blade is a better fit for my needs, so Best Gun Buddy will be getting the 'muk to join the GT Feather Knife.

If similar to my experience, they're don't wear "hot" because of the relaxed fit. For wet and cold, the water proofing does a great job of keeping a thermal layer dry, so they are multi seasonal. Checking out the link, you have to be a savvy and patient shopper. Certain sizes and or colors get discounted (my light gray TS were $29 at SMKW, all other colors were $39) Amazon also revealed the entry price point seems to be $35+ for decent pants. I like paying between 30 and 40, but would go 50-60 for American-made, any suggestions? -
Maybe it escaped from a zoo or something. It's a play on an obscure movie line. Drop shark and replace TN with Africa, anyone? Actually, a tigershark belt by Sam Andrews. A gift from Best Gun Buddy. Scratch resistant, though I'll take BGB's word for it. Incredibly supple for a gun belt as compared to the lined leather 5.11 and Goodrich & Gould I've used for years. It is as flexible as the NexBelt, but twice as thick. The holster is also an Andrew's Leather, gift as well. BGB started this gift giving with the revolver. It is a 3" SP101, tuned and bead blasted by Gemini Customs. Big Dot front with Trausch grips.

I think you'll find many of us tend to avoid gun free retail establishments and make accomodations for non metal detector accompanied signage for those times we can't.

Blessed with good metabolism and very little fast / fried foods and alcohol. Regarding the Tru-Specs, cargo pockets will hold 2 AR mags. With a proper belt, up to 120 extra rounds without a rig. Since I like to work out of pockets, I should do one of those "how much stuff can you carry" short videos. -
California discriminates against immigrants!

NY just passed licenses for illegals, they need assistance since they are scapegoated for all our ills and horribly marginalized. Quotes from NY lawmakers... NY Reps are concerned some may use their new licenses to attempt to vote. -
