  1. Went from 3 yesterday morning to 6 or 7 by the afternoon. More entertaining than tennis
  2. UT football has become a .gov program, if it ain't working, throw more money at it... I really lost interest when the new athletic center exceeded $300 million.
  3. Having been in the money lending business for a long time: Greater than 40% revolving usage does impact your FICO score. It makes prime lenders nervous if you want or need to borrow more money It does increase the probability of future bankruptcy, regardless of FICO score. I primarily use two rewards cards (business and personal) and pay the balances monthly. Need to keep some revolving activity to positively impact my FICO score. It took me years of strict spending habits to eliminate cc debt incurred by my younger self.
  4. Have you considered video'ing some (or all) of your steps? With all the artesian products and services (knife making, leatherwork, etc) you guys should post some video clips
  5. You know you're getting a good one when the chef likes the meal!
  6. This is still in my want bucket. Needs bucket is nearly full. Desire bucket represents slightly more expensive items and projects.
  7. They can hang out until October. https://www.beautyofbirds.com/hummingbirdstennessee.html Normal speed is 20-30 mph, escape speed up to 50+mph
  8. Pleased to report 2 female ruby throated and a female black chinned are providing hours of entertainment. Possible one of the Ruby's is a returnee from last year. Amazing little critters, especially the non stop flight across the Gulf of Mexico for winter migration.
  9. I've had good success with a CRKT M16-14(T) Also have a tactical looking pocket knife from CRKT as well. Investing in a good knife is similar to a good flashlight, holster, belt, pen, watch, etc. Buy once, cry once, unless you're an unfortunate who loses small personal items.
  10. In light of the recent active shooter events, the Committee for Public Safety feels the only way to end gun violence is to ensure firearms are only in the hands of those who should have them. We are not concerned with only the military being armed and the threat of oppressive government, since that will never happen here. Private armed security is a given, those men and women receive training and are licensed by and known to athe State. Lastly, we will continue to arm local, state, and federal law enforcement, because they are the good guys. Pay no attention to the main stream media and reports of racism and the systemic murder of young black men nor the victimization of illegal immigrants by police. And that's the contradiction I'm trying to figure out...LE is murdering innocent minority citizens...remove guns from civilians. In my opinion: There is a thriving business in the theft of firearms from civilian, law enforcement, and military sources. There is a thriving business in the straw purchase arena. There are ignorant private sellers. The folks who need mental health care probably don't have insurance, wouldn't make a claim under an employer provided program, can't afford private services, and .gov services are either overwhelmed and/ or substandard. Gang recruitment is aided (in all demographics) due to the rising normalcy of fatherless boys and young men. Not an original thought, but if the rank and file, law abiding gun owners were the problem, don't you think we'd be in the news by now?
  11. Coleman extreme series, pre cool as instructed and I got 3 days of use when we did weekend/ overnight boating.
  12. Hope she calls a friend and sells them for what their worth, not what she thinks I paid for them.
  13. Ask Jamie Jackson, he's a fan.
  14. NOT AT THE RIDGE IDER ALABAMA CENTRAL TIME ZONE
  15. Next Saturday! If you have a carbine, PCC, or rifle caliber pistol intended for home defense and / or a trunk ready PDW, please consider joining us. For a 50 and less class, I'll be bringing my M1 Carbine, OEM sling, iron sights, and mags in pockets...you don't need fancy or elaborate. If you do have a tricked out blaster, bring it - I like seeing cool stuff! Before taking rifle classes with Randy, my experience was plinking and target shooting from a static position. Adding movement and manipulations, I gained overall confidence learning what I can do and areas I need improvement. For $80, it's a great value for a day of training with a competent instructor. NOT AT THE RIDGE IDER ALABAMA CENTRAL TIME ZONE Hope to see you there!
  16. After 5 years of active shooter awareness seminars, presenters are sharing a new trend of escape / surrender is emerging.

  18. Kudos to LE for a 60 second response time
  19. I have a UC35, adds an onboard USB charging port. Used in a night class with Randy a while back, play with it nightly, still on the original charge. I also have an LD05, great pen light for 10 yards or less. On off tail switch is not great. I think you give a good perspective on SL from personal experience.
  20. For a PDW, I love my M1 carbine. Ultimately decided to keep iron sights, work well and proven (to my satisfaction) from use in both a carbine and rifle class. For more applications, I need a light. Easy mod to vented heat guard, added a Magpul 5 slot rail. Less concerned about specific battery type, do want a remote pressure switch. Not brand loyal, have had good success with Fenix, if choice between Surefire and Streamlight, SL being US manufacturer. I thought I saw positive feedback on Ozark Trail for a budget light. What say you? ------------------------------------------
  21. This assumes proper grip, presentation, and trigger control. It doesn't address distance. I can pop off rounds at 3-5 and be down zero pretty consistently being "aware" of the sights. Add distance, and I, not being a low drag high speed operator, need a good sight picture for accuracy.
  22. Brothers and Sisters, Please raise up your hearts and prayers that God would comfort those parents who have a child with special needs die. Being a primary care given for any family member with a disability of any kind is a sacrifice, and dare I say a burden? Not in the negative sense, but rather how God defines them. I don't know how I would handle it. Despite my ability and willingness to serve, once my service ended, how could I not feel the guilt associated with a sense of freedom? Lord, please send legions of Angels to protect them from Satan and all of his works!
  23. Still stuck on the stripper. That, and the subsequent retorts started my day with a smile. Thanks guys!
  24. Ever great parents, as a rule, are mortified when their kids act out in public. "That man or woman or ALL those people must think I'm a bad parent." Ever say to yourself, "if that was MY kid..." Praise the Lord and prayers of joy for the parents who gracefully and lovingly raise these beautiful children of God.
  25. If Heritage spent an extra $20 per gun and passed along at hard cost, could they improve them enough to give Ruger a sinking feeling?
