  1. I can carry a CZ 75B with a suit or sport coat at 830/9 (left handed) and it is virtually undetectable. Goodrich and Gould black leather belt is as dressy as any, it's thick, so be aware of belt loops, they ain't spec'd
  2. I'd keep an eye on PSA. Yesterday's deal was a complete upper and lower for $349. In my mind, that's like the days of hand-select military surplus. Gotta figure a pistol deal will be in your future. Side note, the front vented barrel shroud reminds me of the PPSh-41, do they make a Glock single drum mag to complete the look?
  3. Getting my first RDO pistol for this very reason. Don't quite need readers, but I'll take every advantage available. The dots on my AR and HiPoint Bullpup changed my life. Burris FF3 and Millet SP1 respectively. Just a front bead on the trusty 870 Tactical, so good info in this thread, thanks for posting. Looking forward to researching and getting opinions on pistols dots over the next few weeks.
  4. My Beretta APX RDO will be delivered tomorrow. Hunt is on a for a dot. Should be able to take off work for all 3 days. Should, my favorite word in the English language.
  5. Ran a couple of drills in CRG-1 with a pair of revolvers. It's fun because when do you get to do it? Not likely you're winning any prizes* if you go old school cool. *I can neither confirm nor deny the existance or awarding of any prizes or participation trophies
  6. Just completed this two day class. It is designed for a newer firearm owner, handgun carrier, or old dog looking for a good refresher. Class room topics included discussions on identifying predator behavior, cues of impending violence, a little brain science revolving around Boyd's OODA, Cooper's Color Code, & Hick's 'Law', Response, and dispelled a little mythology on tactical anatomy, stopping placement, power, and energy. Randy does a great job taking a concept and finding a practical example to illustrate, from driving to sports analogies. It's not all tactics and guns, he is forcing the brain to apply critical thinking, which, for adults, results in up to 70% information retention. One new student to welcome to SI Family. Robert did awesome. Found out at end of class, his first experience shooting a pistol was 7/2019, so even more impressive with how well he responded to Randy's instruction. Thanks to Bill and John from the Ridge in Dayton for hosting and assisting with range valet duties. Day one I shot my CZ 75B Omega. Kept cranking the first DA shot low and right..lack of practice, both live and dry. Ran out of ammo at the end of class, get home, realize I have no target ammo and nowhere to get it at 8 o'clock on Saturday night. I then start looking for what I do have. Aha, can load of .357Sig, P224 is in play. When did I buy all that .38? Sweet, strap on my brace of SP101s. What did I learn? You should stick to one primary pistol. The 224 with 10 round flush mag is a handful, slightly less with the .40 barrel. Using the 12 round 229 mag, it is way more controllable. Used it for drills requiring 6 or more rounds. Carried AIWB, my original carry position, no cover garment, pleased with drawstroke. Shooting the SPs was a reminder that even a 6 shot semi, with extra mags, if you can keep it running, is a better option if your BG brought a plus one (or more) to the party. Consider this drill, 3 targets, 2 shots per, before the time ends. I don't currently have the skill level to fire 4 one handed at 1 and 2, then pull my second pistol and finish off #3 with my non dominant hand. Or 5, then draw, or 3-5 and reload. I can do it, pretty smooth, but not fast enough. I did like the fact my SP groups, while slightly wider, were more centered, with either hand. Did short stroke the trigger, just once, but it still happened. Rotated through four and advising to stick to one... They're all a little different, from POA/POI, pull, reset, grip angle, and sights. The two SPs have wildly different grip angles due to the grips, so I have to adjust between the two. Not optimal for increasing core skills. Not to disappoint, He-who-trains-in-Water conjured up just a little rain on Saturday followed up with glorious weather today. I started training with Randy and Suarez in 2012 and continue to do so because the content and instruction is good. If you would like to be on the email list for future one and two day training events or have a place and interest in hosting, definitely let us know!
  7. Welcome aboard from East TN
  8. Same here, for business attire, most times a Kimber Micro in front pocket. Plus some blades, flashlight, aggressive key chain and tacticool pen. Off hours, currently it's a CZ 75B
  9. New product from Shot https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/shot-show-has-triclops-sights-shot-the-jumped-shark/ If you choose to be the TGO crash dummy, keep us posted! On a more serious note, My CZ SDP is equipped with Heine Straight 8s...hate 'em CZ 75B, oem night are TruGlo (I think) still bright on my '08 model. Past 15/20 yards the front blade is a huge block. I have an APX RDO on the way, I'm leaning RMR for defensive shooting. +50, failing eyesight both near and far.
  10. Because undercover operator is good for the soul
  11. This picture is distressing, the soldier appears to be a kid and he appears to be somewhat malnourished. Stark reminder of the late war years and collapse of the Nazi war machine.
  12. Thanks for the recommendations, seems a shame the parts have no value to anyone, excluding 3rd world scrappers.
  13. Let a few stolen or straw purchased brace equipped firearms be confiscated / tied to criminal shootings and they will be back on the public radar.
  14. I have 3 that need to go. Who will still take them?
  15. I have high confidence with my Kimber Micro. Disappears in my pocket for deep concealment. Flawless operation in our compact pistol class, I can keep it running, and fun to shoot. I also use Precision One.
  16. I have an inbound Beretta APX RDO and have been looking hard at Holosun. Thanks for posting!
  17. Welcome and thank you for your service!
  18. My first was a '78 Fiat Spider 2000. British racing green with tan interior and top. I thought I was cool. It was less so, cooling fan electrical gremlin. Then a '70 Cadillac Sedan de Ville, 74 Mercedes 280, 88 Audi 80, 68 deVille, 68 Mercedes 250SL (I was cool) 83 Mercedes 300SD, 93 Saab 900, 94 Cherokee, 99 Pathfinder, 05 Dodge 1500, 99 Town Car, 15 Fusion, 17 Fusion, 17 Fusion and currently the 12 GLK 350.
  19. Quick update, 5,000 miles in, 19,000 left on service contract. Drove over to Cherokee via 441. Effortless, 35-45 mph, RPMs never really exceeded 1500, averaged 23 MPG. This trip also verified the transmission was properly repaired and revealed no other odd clunks, clicks, rattles, or quirks. Around town (don't really have stop and go traffic) about 22mpg At 70 and 2200 RPMs, 24.5 +/- 55 -60 and 1800 RPMs, 25.2/3 This has been consistent since purchase, I thought the mileage would increase with a non slipping torque converter Can have a conversation and hear the radio with the sunroof open at interstate speeds. Shape of hatch makes for easy load / unload. With seats down, I can sleep in it, when necessary. Seats up, storage could get tight. I wouldn't recommend it as a family hauler except for small or no kids. Backseat is fine for adults, for shorter trips. On occasion I will still put my foot to it; while a 4000# vehicle, the 268hp V6 gets it done. Interestingly, from internet research, the comment of limited body roll in corners seems accurate. Noticed it at Exit 11 from Pellissippi to 129 Northbound Downside is the seats are not deep buckets or have oversized bolsters. I've also hit it with 3 applications of Liquid Glass magical auto polish. I've used it for years, easy to apply and remove. It's black with paint work and minor buffer swirls. the Liquid Glass does a nice job of restoring some color and reducing the swirls. YMMV!!! Rough maintenance costs A Service, fancy oil change and inspection, $200 at the next 10k B Service, as above plus air filters, brake fluid change, lube, etc. $300ish 100k, suggest new plugs, quoted $350 YouTube says I can do it myself as well as the air and cabin filters. Transmission service in 40k and then every 40k Brakes are noted as a more frequent replacement, we'll see. Keep an eye on motor mounts, liquid filled, can fail. There is a GLK Forum I've done some lurking on, they guys over there refer to the Stealership when forced to go for parts and service.
  20. Please pray that I courage to live my life to ultimately hear these words
  21. Martin Luther said there is no greater for of worship than to glorify God in song. This one is pretty powerful and I crank it up as loud as some of my favorite 70s and 80s Rock-'n'-roll
  22. I humbled every day because God sees in me the potential to be a living image of my Lord, Jesus Christ. "Lord, who me? I know I've come a long way, but I have a long way go. Other than my life experiences of doing some pretty stupid sh!t, I'm not that guy." Then I heard this song and was set free from my doubts. When Satan or world asks, "who do you think you are?" My answer is simple
  23. So did we, at Cupid's Chapel of Love, to the horror of my maternal Catholic relatives.
  24. They didn't want to compete with their TN wholesale clients.
