  1. Welcome to a great forum!
  2. @gregintenn has the nicest gun display table I've ever seen. I first noticed it when he revealed a Savage 99 or three from the vault.
  3. I drive a MB...Teutonic from my Dad's side. So I shouldn't add, "the Right Reverend" to my screen name?
  4. We could argue a Marshall Plan will be needed to rebuild...
  5. Steve, I thought you were a don't ask, don't tell, well under-the-radar kind of guy...lol
  6. Acquired from Best Gun Buddy. First time out with the RDO, passed the FBI qualification. If you're looking for an alternative striker fired, Beretta may be a good choice. I've got the small backstraps installed. Holsters seem to be online only with fewer options.
  7. Only got two, all I really need
  8. I will have to disagree. Too many permit holders in TN with no waiting lines at any gun range I am aware of. Less than 5% of permit holders take a second class Proficiency is apparently in the eye of the beholder, my recent trip to Bud's was interesting. I had no idea their paper targets had "don't hit center of mass consistently" instructions. The tactical plan of "I think I'm good enough" works for a vast majority DGUs, I'm not that guy.
  9. Will it legally allow me to not see no gun signs? A step in the right direction, perhaps. I don't think it help with reciprocity for non licensed residents. Based on what I think I know, it isn't likely this or any changes will actually make a measureable number of people start carrying their guns. Maybe use training / continuing ed as a carrot...show proof, get to carry in schools, a little more, state .gov facilities?
  10. Here's my P224, Hogue grips and SRT. Acquired with both a .40 and .357 Sig barrel.
  11. Check out www.harriscombative.com for more info on our training group
  12. I was a die hard boater 27' cabin cruiser. Very expensive. No regrets.
  13. Interesting teaching style for adults. Hi there JLW! We need to figure out how we can offer another entertaining (and educational) bit of Weems and Harris.
  14. Kit out your kids with Nerf. Reserve the coolest stuff for yourself.
  15. Got my buddy to drive in from Missouri to attend! He found a valid online coupon code for 10% off.
  16. Not hijack, but all parties need to understand the other perspective. My boss is one of the sharpest guys I've ever worked for, his example makes me want to excel and be the best I can be. He is a millennial. We should be closing a big deal, when I was confident in the progress, I expressed my excitement with the comment, "we're going to be bigger than US Steel." "Is that big?" he replied. From his life experience, any reference (if any) to US Steel during his younger years equated to failure and bankruptcy.
  17. He's been trying hard for years, it ain't going to be a good looking corpse.
  18. Matt, I know you will enjoy it, looking forward to seeing you again! Great class, no one likes to be flashed
  19. The Price is Right!
  20. 1. Don't spend money like a sailor on shore leave, like I did. 2. If you want to attract and retain Mrs. Right, work on being Mr. Right 3. Ask God to help you with decision making
  21. This system looks safe and sturdy Great commercial
  22. The goal, not my reality... Yes. Absolutely, my point was more about the POI being below the armpits.
  23. Not a fan of any type of off body carry. Tried it and committing to having 100% hands on is tough. Set it down, get distracted, it can be gone or some kind and polite person will pick it up and hand it to you. Coupled with the puzzled expression of weight to size. The exception would be my wife's purse. When I need deep concealment, it's pocket or ankle, understanding the limitations of the my sub compact handgun and drawstroke.
  24. This conversation came up at a recent class I attended. Apparently, in some scenarios, any hit or hail of lead that makes the attacker stop from he or she is doing, is the goal. I am not a ballistics expert, but a peripheral hit from a rifle should be more effective than from a handgun. Armed with a SAW or dual wielding Glock 18s, the spray and pray method may also be effective. For a civilian pistol gunfight, my goal for accuracy and effectiveness: Deliver and maintain rounds on target within a 4" circle, oriented along the center line of the torso, at armpit height, while moving, and adjusting speed for distance and no-shoots in the foreground and background. My flaw is when in close contact and shooting from a compressed position. In this case, the muzzle orientation is down. The effectiveness tag because handgun calibers do weird stuff when they pass through cloth, then hit water, meat, and curved hard surfaces, of which the body is composed. Thoughts?
  25. Got some bite to go with the bark?
