  1. No optics yet, was saving for a Trijicon, then stumbled across this company and ordered their pistol dot. https://www.browe-inc.com/ I'll let you know if I spent $50 more than a Vortex or Burris. Good news, while my $255 stimulus check is going towards my tax bill, I've still got some $$ squirrelled away for a Trijicon. I'm opting out of Holosun on moral grounds.
  2. Hey Cap, Re-reading with great advice offered. I don't think you need a survey with the documentation of the property boundaries (unless building a permanent structure close to the perimeter) Close enough will work as you begin this process of neighborhood segregation. A fence, being semi permanent, gives you a little wiggle room. Title insurance covers the property, against liens and encumbrances of prior owners. Call the law and report. Continue to report. I'm guessing some hard feelings towards the family member who sold, not specifically you. Carry early and often!
  3. Where's Randy Harris aka Cruel Hand Like?
  4. Don't break the law when you're breaking the law. Carry concealed!
  5. If you had in appraisal and title search, it should show the dimensions of your property. if it is a regular shaped piece of property you should be abld to pce it off, and re- stake. Take pictures. An inquiry with Blount County, Property Assessment should show the legal description of boundaries as well. The recorded deed is what I'd show law enforcement if friendly conversation doesn't work. PM me for a referral, in December, I began working in in the mortgage - title - insurance business.
  6. Welcome to a great forum!
  7. Thanks for investing your time, talent and treasure to help develop a new shooter!
  8. Knox County keeping Christian's safe https://pjmedia.com/culture/paula-bolyard/2020/04/30/knocksville-bans-communion-at-church-services-n386794 Regarding taxes, happily paid 5 figures to Uncle Sam yet again this year. It was that or have assets seized, accounts levied, wages garnished, and / or imprisonment.
  9. If it wasn't for celebrities, i don't know how I could have made it this far...
  10. Gotta give it to the ChiComs, more features, equivalent robustness and quality for $100 - $150 less than the competition... Or only $100 -$150 more than the good, but entry level from Vortex and Burris.
  11. Dave, I'm close to investing in a red dot, the American made choices are limited. I considered Holosun to save $100 or so over a Trijicon, but would rather support a US manufacturer. I too have a FF3, mounted on my AR and a few budget ChiCom dots. After researching and talking to folks, I'm willing to step up to a Leupold or Trijicon for my EDC (or a comp pistol)
  12. I should have passed on this thread, causing irrational feelings of dog replacement. We've been dog free for about 90 days after 17 years of companionship.
  13. I'll keep the funk going to start a Saturday Dare I say Tower of Power has the best horn and sax line?
  14. Sister in law dropped 2 pallets for Mrs. Holst yesterday Going to attempt one of those vertical herb garden structures. @Jamie Jackson your raised beds look great! Do you lay it out, de-sod the ground level, and fill'er up with your magical mixture?
  15. EBR Gun Addiction, you got it bad, bro. Thanks for sharing your Addiction, the first step to recovery is admitting you may have a problem... lololol

Recently met up after an extended absence. Great guy, always a pleasure meeting and chatting and trustworthy TGO Member / Seller / Buyer. Marcel - thanks for being you!
  17. Get your feeders out, had our first visitor on Thursday. Saw in the news they have been spotted as far north as Wisconsin. I'd rather watch 2 hours of hummingbirds over most anything on TV or social media. Can't wait for the swarm!
  18. What I found interesting was the apparent frequent use of the PPSH-41 by our troops on patrol. Unless they need the ability to defeat light armor with the caliber, I'm guessing the volume of hate it can throw has it's place in this environment?
  19. Welcome to a great forum
  20. The only thing I can add to this what if: It's a public place, who is potentially in (or out of) the foreground and background and how quickly could that change? I'm pretty consistent about checking for alternative routes and exits. With or without loved ones changes my options.
  21. Stuff like this doesn't happen here... which is why I am paranoid, arm myself and transport a long gun in my vehicle. Praying for these ladies and their families. The perp is probably enjoying the company of his father below, that'll last a little longer than his claim to infamy.
  22. I was in Shoot Point Blank last week, ammo back in the shelves. Huge lot of their store brand reloads If I recall correctly, their 9mm price was $.22 / round and up
  23. Hi Brenda, welcome aboard! I'm glad to hear you've had the opportunity to practice with your pistol and have an interest in obtaining your carry permit. Happy you are here.
  24. I got my Guy... Regarding medical service providers, there is a great line in Atlas Shrugged: “Let them discover, in their operating rooms and hospital wards, that it is not safe to place their lives in the hands of a man whose life they have throttled. It is not safe, if he is the sort of man who resents it--and still less safe, if he is the sort who doesn’t.”
