Holosun's 2020 New Products
A.J. Holst replied to TGO David's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
So if the Trijicon product was $50 cheaper, would you pay up? I haven't done any recent price checks, but recall the Holo's were $100-$150 less expensive. Side note, I have a BMR (Browe version) on order, still have not actually shot a dot equipped pistol other than a dry fire demo using @Cruel Hand Luke G19 with RMR. My initial impression was, "not sure I'm going to like this." But, trust the dot https://gatdaily.com/trust-the-dot/ I really like them on my AR and 9mm PCC. -
Happy Sunday, I pray the peace of Jesus Christ is with you! If the Lord's joy is my strength, how I can please Him? Live today without anxiety about tomorrow and leave yesterday where it belongs, in the past. Praise, worship and thank Him Seek Him out for help Ask Him for forgiveness Oh so simple, if I could just overcome my selfishness which opens the door to the glamour and temptation of sin. When the voices of the world or those in my mind start saying, "you can't, you're not good enough, it's nigh impossible..." I have to remember what I can, what is possible and where my strength comes from to get back in the fight.

I wonder how many of these ammo hounds actually shoot. If I know I have a few weekends of shooting, I go online. Random visits to gun stores, I'll snag a box or two of something to put up. For the one off weekend volume shoot, I buy off the shelf (if available) with a little extra to set back. Since I have a cache, I don't have to overpay when I want to shoot and market demand drives up price. If anyone needs some folding money through selling some ammo, I'm a ca$h buyer!

Back on track Bought some Win service grade 7.62x51 at SMKW, 14.99/20 They had some quality .308 as well, up to $22.99/20 223/556 spotted at Shoot Point Blank, I think it was $1.00+ per round per 20. Yikes Assorted 9mm, highest price was Fiocchi @$15.99, which seems normal for them. Regarding .380, overhead the guy talking to another customer, it is gone within minutes of putting it on the shelf. Unless I am mistaken, the folks buying all that .380 ain't practicing with it.

Lee, thanks for posting, good info on 20ga. We need to stop talking about it and actually offer a joint class. -

Pistol Red Dots made in America?
A.J. Holst replied to DaveTN's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Not exactly related, but I feel the Burris AR mount for the FF series is well worth the investment. Describes me as well. -
So do the ATMs and ITMs. Most of this equipment is leased.

Went from 2 yesterday to at least 6 today. The alpha female is working overtime. I am more convinced she may be a repeat customer from last year, she is pretty confident and approaches me and my wife. Funnest and fascinating, better than electronically delivered entertainment.

Discovered this and others on YouTube

I leave that craft to others, besides it would eat into my TGO time.

So that's the correct term, I got one with the package. Took me a bit to figure out what it was, the positioning matches the marring on receiver. Over 40 years of bang, have you found an off-the-shelf ammo that groups tighter than others? I figure your experience would be a good place to start. Thanks!

@Garufa not exactly glamorus, but assembled

I've bought a few pens from bladehq, great service, meaning I ordered, it showed up, in the condition and time promised.

Saw two females battling this morning, let the games begin!

Having good experience with my CRKT M16-14 (T) I bought the M16-10 (ksf) for my front pocket. Removed the clip. Easy open, stays closed. I think it was $30 at SMKW Warning - it's an open body, so loose change will wedge between the blade and frame. Could jam and is probably damaging the edge. (I no longer put change in that pocket)

WARNING! Tisas 1911 is a DO NOT BUY or... (Tanker's Revenge)
A.J. Holst replied to a topic in Handguns
Hope you'll stick around! Concur, though I enjoy reading about experiences others have had with sub $500 1911s My first and only was a Metro Arms Commander, pre GIANT rollmarks. @Dolomite_supafly was carrying a full size at the time, that helped me make my final decision on the brand. Had a minor, low drama, good experience warranty repair, I think I may have started a thread. It was a solid, reliable pistol. -
Had a male and female arrive yesterday, they so confident I wonder if repeats from last year

My traipsing would resemble becoming the Mad Max Baddie, of my subdivision. Just got a magazine fed .308, so I'll keep that. AR because I think I can scavenge ammo if necessary, same with 2 duty sized 9mm handguns - mag compatibility if one breaks. A PCC taking the same mags as your pistol could be an option. Keeping my trusty old 870 Tactical as well. I'd let the 99 Savage and M1 Carbine go, .300 Savage and .30 Carbine is not common. If it reaches the point where we need to big out, I'll load as much gear in the vehicle, head to a local marina, board a vessel and strike her colors, hoist my petard and become the Black Bart of the Tennessee... I'd need something like that for the bow and stern gunners. Something in .223/.556 would be dandy vs. wood and fiberglass.

Trijicon RMR mount for???????????????
A.J. Holst replied to a topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Bill, I was a die hard DA/SA guy, so much so that I spent up on my two CZs. The 75B Omega went to Cajun Gun Works and the P01 came from CZ Custom as their SDP. Unless I dry fire practiced virtually daily, @Cruel Hand Luke would flog me with conviction and compassion regarding the difference in the initial and follow up trigger press and the necessity for consistent practice. Much like a revolver, an extra level of dedication to shoot well, consistently. I tried a bunch of striker fired and finally discovered Beretta's APX series, it's a winner for me. The RDO is milled, however Beretta doesn't offer suppressor height sights (or anyone else for that matter) Good luck with your search! CZ P10c? -
Trijicon RMR mount for???????????????
A.J. Holst replied to a topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
More of a steal... congrats on a great buy! -
We had a student bring a newly acquired Century C308 to class, I believe an older version, equipped with wood furniture - it looked cool. He lubed and test fires while I was at lunch, reported zero malfunctions.
-
I'll try to capture some glamour shots with the morning sun.

Other than the weight, for my purposes, and only having one, I agree. I was willing to add weight for something different from an AR pattern. Can I safely run quality .308? Please confirm or dispel internet information.
