Just replaced the compressor and switching valve thing about two weeks ago. $1100, still had heat, propane. Then the gas man topped off the tank about a week ago. Honey, we're getting heat for Christmas!

I agree with @chances R , for a novice, I would urge obtaining education with live instruction and live fire. You should (hopefully) receive a minimum level of instruction for operating a handgun and the basic fundamentals of safety and shooting. A good instructor will coach a student to develop confidence and competence, the internet can't. I do like how @DaveTN is thinking, my wife can shoot but doesn't, could carry, but won't. Her purse could give me a pretty nice hideout...

My guess is 6-12 months. 99% of all these new gun owners will probably put the gun and any ammo in the sock drawer after "nothing happens within 30-60-90 days of ownership" Those folks are one and done after the initial purchase. They'll go back to their normal unaware, unarmed way of navigating the world of unknown contacts.

I've begun to embrace the mask. Hat brim pulled down, mask high and tight and choice of dark sunglasses... The new well dressed man. I used it to announce, "stay away from me." I don't want unknown people particularly close me, healthy or otherwise. Social distancing should make it a little more obvious if a BG is trying to close distance.

Anybody notice California's recent stance on heavy metals? Brake pads with trace copper used as a replacement for asbestos are being banned, since trace copper is a health hazard. Should only effect the supercar owners... They've attacked lead bullets as a health hazard, when not apply the copper rule to ammo as well?
