I own a HP 995 9mm carbine. Followed the suggested mag break-in period and mag lip adjustment. During the first 100 - 200 rounds, had a few FTFeed. Since then, it has been flawless. Accurate out to 50 yards, I haven't shot any longer distances with it. There was a guy on the HP forum who killed a deer at 80 yards with the 9mm. I got it because I was looking for a plinker and picked it up cheaper than a Ruger 10/22, though the cost in ammo may eat that up quickly! My neighbor down the hill has the C9 pistol with 400 flawless rounds through it right out of the box. I don't particularly like the trigger action, so I don't see buying one of their pistols, thought the .45acp carbine is on my radar. I think the mentality of "if it's cheap in price, it is cheap quality" is mis-applied to this brand. A little break-in period of the gun and mags generally yields a reliable, surprising accurate, quality low-priced firearm.

More GC = harder for law abiding citizens to protect themselves not only from the BGs out there, but from tyrannical guv'mint. Aren't there over 5000 federal, state and local GC laws on the books? Adding some more doesn't make anyone safer. More importantly, adding "hard time for gun crime" probably makes us less safe. If the BG knows he is going away for life due to 3 strike , what does he care if he uses a gun? 1, 3 or 10 life sentences, it's all the same to him. I also believe the BG would just as soon kill you under the mis-guided thought process of "one less witness" At the end of the day, it'll be the guv'mint and BGs with guns.

Another vote for the SP101. Mine is 2.25" barrel, in hindsight wish I had the 3" barrel. If I was looking for an "all around" .357, I would probably shop for something with a 4" barrel.

Coal Creek Armory in Knox carry CZ, but I don't know if it's a regular stocking brand for them.

My wife loves pink and when we upgrade her from the P22, it will be a pink something. For her, I think she will take more ownership and personal internest in the handgun. Plus it'll match her pink "ears"

I've been shooting and carrying my 75B Omega (DA/SA with safety) for 120 days now; it's definitely a keeper! While I'm not at competition level good, I shoot it the best out of my small collection. Got to be the comfort, for a double stack mag it fits my hand well and for me, a natural pointer. SA trigger is great and since I'm use to DA revolvers, the creep doesn't bother me at all. Being a lefty with right handed controls, I like the fact I can carry at half cock, safety off and utilize the long DA pull.

I bought a 1.5" leather 5.11 Tactical at Greene's, $34.95 + tax. They also have some leather Bianchi belts for the over $60.00 budget. The 5.11 has served me well for 6 months and aside from the scraches from my holster clips, still in good shape, but it is MADE IN CHINA I wish I had saved up and bought an American-made product! The bullet design is semi-jacketed, looks to be a soft point. Compared to a SJSP, it is slightly longer in length (bullet - case is the same)

Or the "other side" for all us southpaws. I have been carrying in this position for the last two years and just did some lurking about reading up on the pros and cons. One prevailing comment throughout was "where is the bullet going in the event of an accidental discharge?" Scary thought, but by keeping your finger OFF THE TRIGGER until on target, it should be as safe as any other on-the-body position. It should also be mentioned to take extreme care when re-holstering!!! I am 5'9" 165lbs and my pants on worn at my waistline, not riding on my hips. Even with a medium sized handgun, 1911 Commander or CZ 75B, I have no problems with comfort or concealment with an untucked shirt. Anybody else carry like this?

Buddy just gave me a partial box of .357 158gr HP Norma Ammo. Made by: AB NORMA PROJEKTILFABRIK - 670 40 Amotfors - Sweden On the box " Norma Precision Match Grade Ammunition" and As far as the age, it has a $.03 TN tax stamp I have never seen this ammo for sale anywhere, anyone familiar with it? ***UPDATE*** in the same box as the Norma, there are also 6 rounds of .357 headstamped: W-W Super 357 Magnum --- it looks like a semi-jacketed soft point, but slightly longer, ideas on this one?

As a little guy, 5'9" 165lbs, I can easily conceal a Commander sized 1911, CZ75 or Ruger SP101 with oversized grips. I think it the choice of clothing which affects effective concealment. With form fitting T-shirts or tighter golf style shirts, printing becomes an issue for me. As the OP clearly demonstrates, a full cut shirt, whether a dress or casual, tucked or un-tucked, with a good holster and belt, will get the job done.

What about a Fusion? My buddy has a 10mm long slide, pretty much customized to his specifications and paid $1800.00

Jamie, Seems like you and I are of like thinking. All of my handguns were purchased to be shooters, so if it isn't comfortable in how it fits your hand, why own it? Primary reason I sold a Colt King Cobra, though it would be a sweet safe queen today! The CZ is probably the most comfortable, easy-to shoot double stack 9mm I have ever had the pleasure to handle. It has replaced my SP101 and AC Commander for EDC. Regarding revolvers, I find it amazing how the "hammer on empty cylinder" is still practiced today. Not being a S&W owner, I didn't know they utilized a hammer block, I was only aware of the "modern" transfer bar system used by Ruger. This is an awesome forum!

Always one in the chamber or a fully loaded revolver. If you're not sure what works for you, get a CZ-75B, four great options all in one handgun... Old school cocked and locked Half cock with safety on Half cock with safety off Or hammer down Need some experts to weigh in on the revolver --- prior to the transfer bar system when the firing pin was attached directly to the hammer wasn't it possible to discharge a round if the revolver was dropped on the hammer?

I too own the same gun, had some issues with a broken barrel bushing (substandard MIM part) and the sear needed a little dressing (thank you Dolomite!) My price was exactly the same, $470 + tax at the September show in Knox. Have since run 400 trouble free rounds through it. When I started my 1911 quest, I wanted a Commander-size and the AC had all the "bells and whistles" I wanted.

As a American Classic Commander owner, all I can say is I am happy with my purchase. Compared to a high-end 1911 like my buddy's Dan Wesson and Fusion, you can see and feel the difference in fit, finish and trigger action. For a stock, non-competition, fun-to-shoot range gun and reliable carry piece, it fit all my wants, needs and desires with Novak-style sights, combat hammer, cool skeletonized trigger and beaver tail safety. BTW, Mountain Dew is THE King of Carbonation!

I carried an SP101 with 1 speed loader for a number of years figuring if I needed more than 10, I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Then I got a 1911, after breaking it in, started carrying it, jumped up to 15 rounds with an extra mag. I recently acquired a CZ-75B, which quickly became my EDC since I shoot it better than my 1911. With the cold weather and wearing a jacket, I can easily carry 2 extra mags. While emptying my pockets last night, my wife gave one of those looks, you know, the one which implies you are crazy. "what is it honey?" "you got quite a few bullets there" "what do you mean, it's just two extra magazines." "how many" "it's only, oh, well, 48..." Today I must really be paranoid since I am wearing a heavy overcoat which makes it difficult to access my IWB, so the SP is my coat pocket.

I got my CZ! Cleaned it last night and used Rem oil. Should I be using something else for a lubricant? Thanks

Thanks for all the leads! AE - I am not familiar with the term "jump crimp" but the ammo is for a Ruger SP101 w/2.25" barrel. .38 makes more sense for a HD situation over .357 due to the flash / bang of .357 at 2am in a dark room!
