  1. You can get grips from Hakan, http://imageseek.com/hakan/
  2. Looks good! Appears you installed a HiViz front sight, how do you like it? I have one on my SP101...
  3. I have a CZ75B Omega which is my EDC about 90% of the time. Great ergos for me, reasonably thin for a double stack mag. Not sure how it compares size / weight wise to a CW9, but I consider it a full size handgun.
  4. The revolver with a good SD round that is comfortable for her would be my recommendation. As a side note, what could be more fun than spending the day at range with your mom getting her use to the new handgun!
  5. Don't forget a good quality belt!!!

    KHAR PM9

I don't own one, but my buddy pocket carries his. He felt it was well worth the investment!
  7. I was going to recommend a CZ, I EDC a 75B Omega, but I realy like Highlander's advice of something in .22LR for a first time shooter.
  8. G - Sunday, 8 May sounds great, I'll give you a ring AJ
  9. High Noon Hidden Ally, sorry no pics, camera is down...
  10. Very nice! If you want to polish up your Smith, you may be pleasantly suprised what a few hours in front of theTV and some Mother's Mag Polish can do for stainless.
  11. Gman, I added a HiViz front sight to my SP101 and it's great with decent indoor / outdoor lighting conditions, but in low light (and obviously no light) it's near useless. Since the SP is in my carry rotation, I would be willing to test out your idea. With my current work schedule, I am only available on Sundays. If this is a good day for you, let me know and lets get together in the coming weeks! I'll bring my AC Commander and CZ75B Omega and we can makea day of it. AJ As a side note, aTi02 is used as a whitener and can be found in dozens of consumable products from candy to toothpaste. It also has unique properties when baked at about 2200 degrees. It becomes a photocatalyst and takes on similar properties as chlorophyll.
  12. I too am curious to cost, the Ruger website lists MSRP @ $799.00
  13. The P95 was my first semi-auto; fun to shoot, heavy double action trigger, pretty good single action, not picky on ammo meaning I shot various types / manufactures with no issues. When cleaning make sure you don't forget to clean / lubricate the extractor. I had some failure to ejects and a little extra attention to the extractor fixed the problem.
  14. DS, Have you looked at the CZ-52? Not sure of availability or price compared to the TT, but I have been VERY pleased with my CZ75B Omega
  15. Can anyone direct me to a step-by-step on-line pictorial with instructions? Thanks, GtG
  16. OK at the Magnolia Av branch of 1st TN, but Knoxville TVA Credit Union one block away is posted as safe for armed BGs. In TVA's defense, they do have a slightly overweight, older armed guard who sits behind a desk.
  17. I daily carry a 75B Omega, weight wise, it replaced my SP101 so it wasn't a big difference. Great handguns, I would recommend any one of their all steel constructions (haven't handled one of their alloy / polys) to anybody.
  18. Here's my post on the AC barrel bushing: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/handguns/46814-part-failure-american-classic-commander.html While it doesn't show well in the pics, the metal at the break is crystallized. Dolomite did some work on my sear tolerances and properly lubed it with moy grease. I believe he has replaced most if not all of the MIM parts in his. I have not as it not a carry piece. Mine, also a Commander, is 100% reliable after about 500 rounds of break-in
  19. I wonder how routine cleaning and maintenance effects the number of reported KBs. I am not a gunsmith, but feel I am familar enough with my firearms to know during cleaning and inspection if something looks different after each shooting session. Since I always clean my guns after each shooting session, I should notice if there strange wear marks where there weren't any before. I understand Glocks and many other brands can go many sessions before requiring cleaning, so pending failures may not be noticed until the fatal KB.
  20. Roadkill. Great info and something to consider if you have gone 100% cellular!
  21. NOTE TO MODERATOR: I got a PM that this post maybe inappropriate as it could be a considered a solicitation for sale/trade outside of the trading post and a non-benefactor. It was not my intention, just wanted some insight to a comparable price point 20ga. PLEASE DELETE IF VIOLATES TERMS!!! I acquired a very lightly used Rem 870 Tactical in a multi-gun purchase and considering trading it for a 20ga something. My thoughts are: It's great for HD, but not very versatile I have heard that a 20ga offers 50% of the recoil with 75% effectiveness of a 12ga Lower recoil will make the 20ga easier for my wife to handle Lower recoil will make the 20ga more fun to shoot Obtain a more versatile platform Any thoughts on what would be a comparable 20ga? Thanks!
  22. Those must be "before" pictures and you're typing with your nose. Everyone knows that zamak / pot metal handguns explode and kill or horribly maim their owners when more than 1 round is fired! Since I live for danger, I may check out the HP22. I really like the look, pretty cool pistol What kind of price point on a HP22? Would you buy one used and if so, what should you look for in terms of wear and tear?

    Gods Handgun

    CZ-75B Omega gets my vote.
  24. I own a HP 995 9mm carbine. Followed the suggested mag break-in period and mag lip adjustment. During the first 100 - 200 rounds, had a few FTFeed. Since then, it has been flawless. Accurate out to 50 yards, I haven't shot any longer distances with it. There was a guy on the HP forum who killed a deer at 80 yards with the 9mm. I got it because I was looking for a plinker and picked it up cheaper than a Ruger 10/22, though the cost in ammo may eat that up quickly! My neighbor down the hill has the C9 pistol with 400 flawless rounds through it right out of the box. I don't particularly like the trigger action, so I don't see buying one of their pistols, thought the .45acp carbine is on my radar. I think the mentality of "if it's cheap in price, it is cheap quality" is mis-applied to this brand. A little break-in period of the gun and mags generally yields a reliable, surprising accurate, quality low-priced firearm.
  25. More GC = harder for law abiding citizens to protect themselves not only from the BGs out there, but from tyrannical guv'mint. Aren't there over 5000 federal, state and local GC laws on the books? Adding some more doesn't make anyone safer. More importantly, adding "hard time for gun crime" probably makes us less safe. If the BG knows he is going away for life due to 3 strike , what does he care if he uses a gun? 1, 3 or 10 life sentences, it's all the same to him. I also believe the BG would just as soon kill you under the mis-guided thought process of "one less witness" At the end of the day, it'll be the guv'mint and BGs with guns.
