  1. I'll plug the HP 9mm carbine. Mine has been flawless after the initial 200 rounds. I also "broke in" the mags which entails loading them with 8 rounds and letting them sit for 2 weeks. I did not have to tweak the mag lips, which is sometimes necessary. The only downside is limited capacity with 10 round mags...
  2. Update: The original post was for the Knoxville area, but I do travel to middle TN every 3 - 4 weeks. Not really interested in buying on-line, I would like to actually touch and feel what I am buying. More importantly, while I may save a few bucks buying on-line, I prefer to establish a relationship with a brick and mortar for service after the sale, support a TN-based business and keep my dollars in the TN economy. Thanks! GtG
  3. I use one for a CZ75B, carry AIWB, love it. The holster is not re-inforced, but I have no trouble re-holstering, just take my time. The elastic material is what holds the firearm and it is secure. I have been on hands and knees and have yet to have a retention problem. Of all the holsters I have, this is one I would "definitely recommend and buy again"
  4. My buddy's home from deployment gift to himself was a PPS and PPQ in 9mm He cleaned them up and shot them today. Right out of the box and he was impressed. While the "friend of a friend" reference isn't the same as hands-on, he is my go to gun guy... congrats on your buy!
  5. If I was the adventurous sort and got out in the back country to hike, camp, atv, etc and there was a possibility of dangerous predators, it would make sense for me to get one (reason my buddy has two, he is the adverturous sort) As a back-up or primary hunting weapon, another great fit. Get into reloading, and with .44 spl, you've got a fun, affordable to shoot range gun.
  6. Shotgun is the most practical to round out your "collection" But, another pistol does lend itself for additional home protection and you'll proably get more fun and trigger time out of another pistol than a shotgun. My suggestion would be either a 9mm upgrade...I carry a CZ 75B, so another CZ would be an EXCELLENT choice. or If I was with my 82 and C9, I would get a revolver.
  7. Well, I got me a new job and no longer work EVERY Saturday - WOOHOO!!! I have done one IDPA and it's the most fun I've had shooting. Want to do it again, so what's happening at ORSA? I am also interested in the 3-gun, but don't have an AR / AK, but a HiPoint 995...
  8. CR hit it on the head. I've only done one IDPA and once my first time jitters settled down, I focused on my shooting and stopped worrying about how bad I sucked compared to everyone else. More importantly, NO ONE CARES - the "old timers" know who is new - they want you to have fun and come back out!!!
  9. Getting a little off topic, but any recommendations on a pistol grip stock? If the price is comparative with the Speedfeed with shell carrier, get a Speedfeed?
  10. I currently have a HiViz on my SP101. Awesome when I have light, low light/no light it's pretty worthless. Anybody have XS sights on their pistola?
  11. The extra shell carrier option looked pretty cool, though for 1/4 of the price, the side sadlle makes more sense. I've never shot a shotgun with integral pistol grip, so apparently I'm not missing anything, but is it worth the investment?
  12. Thanks to the internet, I stumbled across this: http://www.google.co...K1p8V-fApCG-8vw While I'm not looking to be a mall ninja, the extra 4 shells for a HD/SD 870 Tactical makes sense My 870 is stock, no side-saddle or butt shell carrier... Anybody got one, looking for the good / bad / ugly Using the search function, I didn't find any reviews for the product. Also curious regarding standard vs. the pistol grip. MODS - this should probably be in Gear and Accessories - please move if necessary

    VZ61Scorpion?

I've been looking at them too, but chambered in .32acp will be pricey to shoot.
  14. Hi all, I am working with Randy to host SI's Close Range Gunfighting in the Knoxville area the last weekend of June. We are tentative at this point as we are in the "establishing interest" phase. What say you? Thanks, AJ
  15. With excellent gun control laws and low gun crime in DC, why would anyone need an armed guard?
  16. I am working with Randy to set something up in Knoxville, any interest?
  17. I too urge you to check out the CZ line, I carry a 75B Omega (full size, steel) but alloy and polymer models available. The P07 Duty meets all your qualifcations except misses the mark at 1.46" wide I think a high cap @ 1.1" is going to be tough with about any handgun.
  18. After the day I had today, that was a great. Thanks for posting!!!
  19. I like the barrel shroud, flash oppressor not so much.
  20. Model paint could work, I would remove the excess by rubbing the slide on newspaper. I have used this technique on an insignia ring
  21. Took the trip out Saturday and did a little shooting. 5 lanes x 25 yards and well lit. I believe they are an NRA-Certified training facility Seating is limited since it's a pretty tight space. We kept our bags by our feet in the stall to keep the floor clear. No firearms as of yet. Great selection of ammo for major calibers. We did not purchase any, shot up some excess inventory...BUT, Ladies and Gentleman, it's only $2-$3 more than WM. Nice selection of accessories and a bunch of holsters. Now here is the cool part, they are having a GRAND OPENING special: $1.00 range fees through March Basically, buy some stuff and the range is virtually free.
  22. Probably goes without saying, but keep all landscaping, trees, bushes well trimmed. Don't want to give those pesky zombies anywhere to hide!
  23. "...man shoots himself with a Kimber, so we are displaying a picture of a CZ85..."
  24. Now that 911 has been called, you have to make a tough decision. It appears that douch bag connected with two of your rounds and they appear to be in the upper torso. He's bleeding all over your 3 week old carpet. It would be a safe bet he's some sort of junkie. So, what would you do? "Honey, cover me, I'm going to slide him onto the tile floor in the kitchen and get the Resolve..." Seriously, if I was 100% sure of a safe perimeter and felt the BG was not a threat, I would break out the first aid kit and apply bandages and pressure to the wounds.
  25. According to WIKI, the original Swiss models are still bring big bucks
