Correct me if I'm wrong but I understand the Supreme Court ruled the AHCA was a tax, not an insurance plan. So when folks don't pay their tax under the guise of payment for premiums, then the 16000 newly hired IRS agents get to earn their pay... What happens when you don't pay your taxes? More importantly, what insidious power does the IRS have that no one does? My bet is they will fast-track wage garnishments, bypass "working" with the criminal tax evader and simply send out notices to your employers. Dems and Reps arguing over de-funding? Please, through wage attachment this tax program will be funded by anybody with a W2 income. When they run out of W2, look out all you 1099s - they're coming after you next.

I have thousands of rounds through one of my SP101s, 60% assorted .38 and 40% .357; a crapload of .22 with routine maintenance = a modern "heirloom"

I will occassionally carry my MK9 or SP101 in a Desantis. With with a good belt and belt line riding the top of the hip, I can also carry an extra mag or speed strips, knife and keys in my weak hand pocket without the weight pulling down my pants gangsta style...

Well written humor clearly illustrating how absurd gun control laws only impacts law abiding folks. "The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws" Dr. Floyd Ferris, State Science Institute, Atlas Shrugged, 1957

My buddy sent me this: http://www.tabletmag.com/jewish-news-and-politics/143492/samuels-syria-vladimir-putin# Not sure if 's a rabbit hole but if any truth, we need to keep our eye on the friendly Russians. The China involvement indicated a more public show of their move from regional to international dominance.

Yes, a sarcastic letter can and will receive an equal response, but what is interesting most Sheriffs support gun ownership. Why? because they are elected by the "non-city folk" whereas a PD Chief dance to the tune of the "city folk" and hired by Mayors. Not to knock the state of IL, but their laws appear to be influenced by population density of Chicago and other large metro areas. Poll the folks who live in the country... Regarding Mr. Ashe: 42 years as an LEO, retired now for how long? When was the last time he was on the beat? Times have changed and I daresay he doesn't accurately represent the sheriff's of TN. Cut him some slack, racking a shotgun is terrifying to any and all who hear it and causes paralysis and/or "flight"

Opinions on fiber optic sights for home defense
A.J. Holst replied to a topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I have a HiViz front on one of my SP101s. It is great in medium to normal light. It is well nigh useless in low to no light. Learned that at a poorly lit indoor range. -
Anybody practice drawing when buckled in your car?
A.J. Holst replied to KahrMan's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Yes, but a second gun well secured in the car. As a southpaw, right hand draw and shooting is a necessary skill. Try LH draw from the drivers seat sometime, nigh impossible to point a handgun or have any leverage for retention if a BG is in the window... -
Pincus suggests verbally warning home invader
A.J. Holst replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Wow, what a wide range of responses. All I can add is depending on where I am and my wife is (no kids to protect anymore) , I will or will not confront or barricade. My last choice is to clear my house, first choice is baaricade and announce, "armed, calling 911, continue what you're doing at your own peril." This is so situational there are too many "correct" action plans -
Nice!

Thanks Patton, I may have been overly sensitive to a perceived "hijacked" thread when Duck posted. -

Private training session in South Knoxville
A.J. Holst replied to A.J. Holst's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I fully endorse training with multiple instructors, I believe I even stated seeking out top tier instructors in the original post if there was no interest or time didn't allow for this venue. If anyone thinks a one day course can make anyone an expert; please choose another training opportunity and/or go back to your tacti-cool mall ninja Xbox 360 world. A one day course will be another step in increasing individual skill along the path to expert. As they guys at CCA and Tac are not hosting nor offering their services and epertise at this particular venue, advertising for them may have been more appropriate in a new thread. I can assure you If I was hosting a venue promoting CCA or Tac, I would have done so and not mentioned Randy or anyone else I had trained with; I call it common and professional courtesy. I know all these guys make a living or supplement their income with these training sessions; as the host I have a certain responsibility to be focused on and get students for the instructor who will be spending his or her time. I may be wrong in my thinking, but I've never jumped into a thread promoting a training opp and said, "try these guys" -
Any interest in a one-day couse in Knoxville

This is how my wife can easily manipulate her Glock 17 Flipping through a gun mag today and Boberg advertises something like "easiest to rack on the planet" I haven't done a price check, but "pricey" comes to mind

NFA Trusts Under Fire
A.J. Holst replied to Oh Shoot's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
The latest from the Vice President is: Trusts are exempt from background checks so we need to close this loophole to keep this dangerous weapons from getting into the hands of criminals through the trust system. Everyone knows that criminals and friends of criminals create these trusts so they can legally purchase this class of weapons. -

I am certain the guys at Tac and CCA ate top tier instructors, but not sure how or why a plug for them would be pertinent to this thread. -
