Looking for horizontal shoulder holster for GP100
A.J. Holst replied to a topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
From past posts on shoulder holsters, the more you spend, the more likely you will be to use it. I personally do not have one but my buddy has a semi-custom from [Sam] Andrews Leather for a S&W M&P It's used infrequently; only when he is on deployment. -
Isn't it the 2A (and the NRA) that protects the Freedom of Hollywood from guv'mint to do, say, and spew anything they want, promote any view or push any political agenda? Take away the 2A, then guv'mint can limit all the other rights and freedoms we have at the point of their guns...of course that would NEVER happen in the USA and history shows it has never happenedin any other country on the Earth...

Harvey Weinstein says he's done making violent movies -- or at least, not as violent Jan. 18, 2014, 12:22 PM EST By L.A. Ross TheWrap Movie mogul Harvey Weinstein says he's done making violent movies. The head of The Weinstein Company said on CNN's "Piers Morgan Live" Friday that coinciding with his plan to make a movie condemning gun violence, he will scale down his company's production and distribution of films depicting grossly violence just for the sake of being violent. "I have to just choose movies, I mean, that aren't violent — or as violent as they used to be," Weinstein said. Weinstein made the comments in response to conservative groups in particular, that are accusing the producer of hypocrisy over Thursday's announcement that he would make a movie with Meryl Streep that would take down the National Rifle Association "I think the NRA is a disaster area. I shouldn't say this, but I'll tell it to you, Howard," Weinstein said during Howard Stern's radio show. "I'm going to make a movie with Meryl Streep, and we're going to take this head-on," Weinstein told Stern on Wednesday. "And they're going to wish they weren't alive after I'm done with them." Weinstein can count among his credits such bloody films as the "Kill Bill" and "Scream" franchises and the Quentin Tarantino blood-fest, "Pulp Fiction." "I think they have a point," Weinstein said of his critics. "I have — you have to look in the mirror too." I had no idea that the NRA and all us law-abiding, gun-owning citizens contributed to gun violence, promoted gun violence or the legal ownership of a gun turned us into mindless killing machines.

I have a G&G, it's black with simple bucket for dressier / suit wear. If I recall it took at least 30 days of daily use for it to start breaking in, now it is "formed" to my radius...

Excellent find, you're at pre-scare pricing! Why are you teasing me to go back to WM???

What is strange is years of trouble free service then problems with parts that don't typically fail. Is 3 months excessive for what will be a total re-furb? Maybe...but it can make some sense getting critical parts from Brazil if their business model is for the U.S. part supply stock to be for wear and tear items. After my less-than-stellar experience with a local 'smith, I realized time moves at a different pace on the bench.

Holster for people who work outside and sweat
A.J. Holst replied to a topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I am a N82 user for a CZ75B and P-01 SDP and have trained with it for 2 days in August. My gun stayed "dry" Absolutely no moisture permeated through the holster. Will concur that a belt is needed, you may be able to go belt-less with a light(er) weight gun, -

I haven't received the propaganda; what is the tone of the message? I guessing something along the lines of, "we are simply promoting and protecting the right of the public safety from gun violence..." -
I bought a 350 value pack of Blazer Brass 115gr fmj for $119 + tax at GM last month which included the plastic ammo "can" WM is doing a GREAT job of getting less and less of my money. Note: in my travels 124gr "NATO" 9mm has always been more pricey than 115...

Fired Guns & Ammo Writer Still Shooting Off His Mouth
A.J. Holst replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Why should I compromise? If I break any of the thousands of laws on the books, guv'mint is taking my guns... Understanding that, I obey the law(s) which in many cases infringes upon my right and responsibility to protect myself and my family. The ONLY way I can endanger the public is: improper gun handling by me or someone I have allowed to use my firearm which results in a negligent discharge or if my firearms are stolen and used in criminal acts. I won't take responsbility nor be held accountable because some dumba$$ who also legally bought his firearm made the decision to something stupid, usually with stupid people in a stupid place. I can continue to promote responsible firearm ownership, practice the same, communicate with my elected servants and vote. As a law abiding, tax paying voting as an INDIVIDUAL, why am I thrown into the same category and forced to pay the price for all "gun violence" caused by criminals and the mall ninja youtube jackoffs who don't care about the law or responsible gun ownership. -
With spring right around the corner, we are planning our first SI Event of 2014 under the watchful eye of Cruel Hand Luke, aka Randy Harris. Here's what we're thinking A one-day shotgun and one-day handgun course, one on Saturday, the other obviously on Sunday. I've never participated in any kind of defensive / offensive shotgun course, so I think this could be interesting. Please check out the SI website for course descriptions and let us know what type of training you would be interested in. Thanks, AJ

What do you do when you encounter a posted business?
A.J. Holst replied to 10-Ring's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I'm pretty safe, most of those signs show either a Glock or Beretta silhouette and I don't carry either. You are really safe at Harrah's Cherokee - no flareguns allowed!!! On the record, I do NOT knowingly break the law, in the case of private business, if owner doesn't want me armed, I make my decision based on circumstances to either dis-arm and enter or shop elsewhere...and I always have my trusty CRKT M16-14T -
My buddy uses a shoulder rig when working as a pilot in Afghanistan. It is "semi-custom" meaning he bought it from [Sam] Andrews Leather and Sam modified it to fit his frame. When he is home, it is never used...

I don't carry a 1911 or a Glock, but that's some funny stuff...

Walmart north of Chattanooga is corrupt...
A.J. Holst replied to serbu50's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
My take on "isolated incident" is it infers it happened once, but I'm guessing rogue clerks are contributing to isolated incidents across the company on a weekly if not daily basis. What makes it hard for the WM managers is to police the policies they put forth in good faith for ALL customers. I hold a management position and from that perspective, when one complaint is lodged, it is an isolated incident. Average to above-average employee with no history of drama, I'll slap 'em on the hands, explain policies are not flexible, but apply good customer service and common-sense. Hopefully I've done my job properly and it's NOT back to business as usual. My recent experience has been ammo availability at virtually all the big boxes and LGSs within $2 - $3 of the posted $13.99 price point and with past experiences at the Chapman Highway WM similiar to the OP, I choose to shop elsewhere. -
Hadn't shot there in years and I needed to shoot my new-to-me CZ SDP. Arrive around 2pm, not too many cars parked, good sign, should be lanes open. Enter the showroom, wow, they have really scaled back their accessories! Gentleman at the counter greets me, is professional, quick service. Fees are $15 for all day, $+5 to add one person, + $5 to add another person, 3 people per lane max Their bulk target is the B-29, $1.00 including tax. I brought my own ammo, so didn't even look at their prices or what was available. Heading to the range, I viewed their handguns, small selection and prices appeared higher than at other LGSs I buy from. Range is well light, clean, great ventilation and climate control. They do allow rifle and shotgun, I saw the sign "no slugs" but did not inquire to largest rifle caliber allowed. Spent about 2 hours and had a great time. Upon exiting, I mentioned to the two gentlemen behind the counter that I enjoyed using their facility and it was in good shape; they seemed appreciative of my feedback and asked that I come back to shoot with them again. Next time the weather isn't co-operating and I can't go to the in-laws, I'll hit them up again. BTW - I saw a sign that said Bays Mountain Country Club has a gun range, anyone have any info on this?

Stumbled across a box in my deep in my safe today. It got pushed to back because I rarely shoot .357 through my 2.25" SP101. With the shorter barrel length, I don't get all the cool benefits of what the .357 can really do out of a 4" - 6" - 8" barrel. Just too much wasted energy out of a snubnose. I recently received a 3" SP as a gift and was wondering how well this particular round would out of a 3" barrel. I am tempted to add the line, "does the extra 3/4" make a difference," but fear where this thread would go.

Hey guys, I have used muffs and plugs for years, I learned the "double up" from a pilot / gun friend. Works great BUT, I wear glasses and like to wear OTG shooting glasses. I HATE the muffs, I have tried 3 or 4 different brands and all make the legs of my glasses uncomfortable after 30 minutes of shooting. with that being said, what kind of "improved" plugs can you recommend? Thanks, AJ
