  1. I moved to East TN in 1994 and it is home!   If golf is your thing, Crossville isn't too far and property taxes are comparatively ridiculously low.   I am guessing you've never been busted for jay walking, double parking, spitting on the sidewalk or even farting in public to have qualified for the privilege to own both a gun AND be granted a license in the great state of New York.   Keep up the clean living!!!
  2. Mark I'm in the knoxville area.
  3. "Prospectors" which airs on the weather channel absorbed 6 hours of my day today. I caught it surfing a few weeks ago and enjoyed the few subsequent episodes i saw. When I saw the behind the scenes episode, I was sold. Today was a marathon and I tried to keep up. The non reality is the hundreds of hours of prospecting (looking) vs. the 60 minutes of mining. Kudos to the producers for great editing to keep the interest of the audience
  4. Panther?
  5. Looking for recommendations and links. prefer a single clip rig for aiwb. Pistol is a cz p01 SDP Thanks GtG
  6. Did the problem start after you installed the new grip inserts? Outside possibly over tightened the grip screws could bind up the action of the hammer spring running on the strut. Remove the entire grip and dry fire. I've also dis/re assembled the trigger guard assembly on one of my SPs (I am NOT a gunsmith) it not clear what would bind up as described. BigK may be onto something, next time it locks up see if you can depress the cylinder latch. Both the pawl and latch have very small plungers and springs, one of those springs could be kinking up.
  7. Woohoo, my HiPoint 995 is CA compliant!!!   I had no idea I was so liberal and voluntarily compliant with CA law...
  8. After each event, there are a few hundred rounds of 9mm brass, the .40/.45 shooters due a pretty good job and recovering what they shoot.   With that being said, if there are any reloaders looking to recover some free brass, PM me and I'll hook you up.   I'm not going to lie to you, this will be more like an Easter egg hunt, the firing line will be mown close, but it is a field.
  9. One of the articles also addresses cost; 9 is cheaper than 40.
  10. I'm confident with my 9 mm / .38+p SD selections. If I need to shoot through car glass or door panels I step up to .357
  11. Additional research has indicated the pic I have of a panther is a cruel hoax. Once again the panther re enters myth and legend...
  12. PM me you cell and I'll forward the pic. It was rec'd as a text and I'm not smart enough how to get the image to post.
  13. The ONG 52nd Civil Support Team training scenario involved a plot from local school district employees to use biological weapons in order to advance their beliefs about “protecting Gun Rights and Second Amendment rights.”   Obviously the folks who develop scenarios are in the "worst case" business.   What I find scary is the assumption that fanatical gun owners (by which ALL gun owners are judged)  will employ Weapons of Mass Destruction; biologicals are WMDs.   Now that they are throwing around extreme fantacism, what laws will be tabled to keep the public safe from gun violence?   I had no idea that "local school district employees" fall into the category of agressive 2A Supporters.
  14. My decision would be based on what I expected to run across   Snakes, bears, coyotes, wild pigs, panthers, 2 legged predators - specifically meth / pot producers   Yes, we have cougars in East TN, got a pic of one caught on a game camera in Grainger County, 2 months ago...
  15. This cracked me up, "Other officials think the low registration numbers are due to ignorance on behalf of gun owners who aren’t aware of the new law." I can't even think of a clever sarcastic response...sschrick is on point!
  16. Congrats! I love my MK9
  17. Corruption in politics? Continuing legacy of huey long...The southern Democratic party has definitely become more progressive and equal opportunity.
  18. I've hosted the last 3 events in Knoxville and like training with Randy. If you've met me you know I am not a type A personality. The reason I mention is I don't respond well to typical type A teaching or management styles...Randy AIN'T a type A. I'm looking forward to the shotgun training as I have zero in that department. For previous attendees I'd like your opinions on past experiences training with Randy.
  19. Thanks G, I forgot you had a 9 mm AR...This is for my hipoint, buddy sold me a nib bsa red dot for 20 so I went mall ninja tacti-cool. :)

  21. Patton, according to a friend the 210 is supposedly a 1" shooter out of the box to compete directly with your higher end semi and custom guns. Do I know that as fact - no.
  22. I've shot them but not an owner. I like how they feel in my hand, seem to be more contoured than most poly guns. My buddy had a full line 9 - 45 both full size and compact all with the apex. Solid and reliable plus the 9 is his company issued sidearm when in Afghanistan
  23. Jonnin, thanks for the ballpark. Most likely 115gr blazer or umc. Velocity is unknown; how much "extra" ffpsdo you typically generate with a 16" barrel?
  24. need some help with distances and 9mm out of a carbine.   If I sight in zero at 50 yards, where is my estimated POI at 25y and 75y?
  25. Makes me sick every time I look at my Kahr. ..Worcester MA...hypocrisy and idiocy in action...they'll bleed Kahr for taxes and fees to operate while screaming their products are evil incarnate AND make it more difficult to manufacture and retail their products thus reducing the revenue stream. Come on down to Tennessee, we'd love to have the job and revenues.
