Connecticut LEO's Refusing to Participate?
A.J. Holst replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I'm not suggesting that we return to the exact same methods as I think, as a society, we can address such issues in a more humane fashion. However, I think the basic concepts should be followed. CONCUR!!! Not sure when it happened, but when we allowed guv'mint to fill the role of our brother's keeper and legislate common-sense, the nation started down the slippery slope. -
Connecticut LEO's Refusing to Participate?
A.J. Holst replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Prohibiting the criminal element and mentally incompetent from firearm ownership is prudent but it's not in the Constitution. Those laws were written to restrict a certain class of people of their 2A right. Perhaps early attempts to protect the public from gun violence? Incarcerate and institutionalize for an indefinite amount of time is an awesome solution. That's in the Constitution too? -
Connecticut LEO's Refusing to Participate?

Robert, I 100% agree with you, but I am a law-abiding, tax paying, reasonably intelligent gun owner. In no way shape or form should I be restricted from gun ownership - I'm one of the goods guys and like to think I'm one of those guys that the unarmed would want armed and in the "militia" The blanket statement of " NO GOVERNMENTAL ENTITY, be it a county, city, State or the federal government should be passing or enforcing ANY laws that violate the constitution" would allow anyone and everyone to bear arms regardless of age, mental health, criminal record, etc. DaveTN is also correct, it is the citizens of the state, not the federales and voters of another state that should decide which, if any laws should restrict the 2A. I have a real problem with the encroachment of the central guv'mint upon State's Rights and how insidious their methods are - it's called federal funding and withholding of such to twist the arms of the states. I also have a problem with large voting blocks in more liberal states telling their elected servants how Tennessean's need to limit, restrict and interpret the 2A (among other things) -
I'm not going to invest the time to watch, but isn't it possible he got a lemon? Case(s) in point: specifically TankerHC's Tisas and generally the positive/negatives we've all seen posted about Kimber. Did he contact Henry for after-the-sale service?

I was on gun broker last night and saw one for sale, cool package, .357 / .40 / 9mm barrels Knowing little to nothing about Sig and knowing there are some Sig fans here, what say you? As a side note, same seller has a CZ Kadet kit for sale - I contacted him for more info and discovered it will not cycle properly on my 75B due to the omega trigger system, so if anyone is looking...

In this scenario the women were armed whilst consuming. Womanly wily charms should be clear enough to get us nerds off the computer ;) -

Dumbest way to "teach gun safety" you have ever heard of

...is seated and joined by 2 friends for dinner. They order appetizers and one glass of wine each since they are all driving. After an hour they head to their respective homes where they find husbands still in front of the computer typing away on TGO. After disarming, the women lure the men into the bedroom using their wily charms. 1 has to work little harder as her man is a lifetime benefactor. In Tennessee what crime (s) if any were committed?

Don't own one so know very little beyond the basics. First question is: are all parts interchangeable? 2: how cheap can you build one for?

Saw a shady deal at Academy- with pic
A.J. Holst replied to LI0NSFAN's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Late viewing the thread; my biggest issue is the fact the employee flat out lied. The only Knox big box I visit for ammo anymore is GM. Academy and bass pro have been spotty for me (9 .38 .357) and I'm actively boycotting all of WM. I too am curious of what price was posted by the reseller. I also jumped on arms list and saw "rare" CCI at $8/50 with a disclaimer of no hate emails and " that's what it's worth to me since I have 5 .22lr firearms" In sales if you base price on what you think it's worth or what you paid you're an idiot. If that how it worked I should be able to sell my 3000 tv for 1500 and it's a good value even though the tv is 4 years old. Until people stop buying from resellers it's not going to stop. On the flip side my buddy listed hundreds of rounds of 9mm; based his price on ammobot and got offers for 75% of fmv. So there's idiots all the way around. -
12 ga and it appears to be a boito.

It is a Brazilian import, the damage is where the action bolts to the stock. Doesn't look repairable. Thanks for the leads

I think it's pretty funny, but then I find most all stereotypes funny, even those directed towards my guinea-kraut-papist heritage.

Can you even afford to live in HI for a paltry 60k/year? Social Security is broke yet some current and all future recipients pay in every month. Welfare must be flush as it has been expanding since the war on poverty has been raging since LBJ and the great society. How many of those folks are paying in?

I've actually thought about the big WHAT IF; a young man or woman, about my son's or d-i-l's age, in LE or the Guard, comes a-knockin' for my gunz. Will I pull a Heston?.."out of my cold, dead fingers"..." or maybe surrender them one bullet at a time?...lie?..I have very few bought through a retail establishment (which is why I love FTF and guv'mint hates it) Personally I like "lie" It's like all those empty trucks that crossed into Syria - if you know they're coming... What about the resources required to go door-to-door and conduct a search of a private residence? Huge tax increases to to pay for the labor and hire more LEOs to combat crime while millions of officers are working in the seizure dept. Continue to vote, continue to write letters and continue to conduct yourself as a gun owner with a brain.

A quote I heard from a radio pastor. The caller was asking about pastors carrying handguns and how it fits into scripture, "live by the sword, die by the sword" This is not to debate theology so let's not go there! To paraphrase and edit to protect the innocent: "I am not against guns, it's just I never grew up around them, my parents emigrated to the United States in 1960 when I was 10. Because they came from a "non-gun" European background, we were never exposed to guns in our home and didn't recreationally shoot guns. That people acquire, shoot and carry guns - it's just foreign to me." Reminds me of another story of when my buddy was out and about and stopped to assist a family who appeared to tourists and lost in Pensacola. Family was indeed on holiday from the UK and as they were going their separate ways, the pre-teen son asked Morgan, "can I see it?" "See what?" "Your gun." "I don't have a gun." The kid was crushed, from watching Hollywood, he really thought most all Americans carried a gat...

NEW LETTERS FROM STATE OF CT. TO GUN OWNERS.
A.J. Holst replied to Sonny's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Don't you all realize guv'mint wants us to break laws? Why do you think they keep writing and passing local state and federal legislation? How else can they exert power over the honest law abiding citizens unless there are so many laws it becomes impossible to be law abiding? There's a great passage in Atlas shrugged which is eerily prophetic.
