Ferguson protestscome to Knoxville offier injured.
A.J. Holst replied to 10-Ring's topic in General Chat
I wasn't aware of poor race relationships between KPD / UTPD / KCSO and the black community. Obviously if it happened it Ferguson, it is happening here, otherwise why a protest? If it is not happening here, why a protest to raise public awareness of something not happening here? Why a protest to raise public awareness of what happened in Ferguson? Even heard of the media - we are aware and more importantly have made our decisions based on facts If to support the riotors, oops, I mean victims of Ferguson, why block traffic? These people were free to exercise their 1A right of peaceful assembly. Manipulated by the agenda of the organizers - yes, but free to make the decision none-the-less. No dogs turned loose, water cannon, tear gas or arrests. After the cadet was injured - all bets are off - take your no good, no working, rabble rousing hide and leave. You don't have to go home, but I don't want you staying here. -
I like the highlighting idea using pink flame or using SK's color suggestions for detail. Agree with avoid the pepto-shade of pink - tragic... Pink stain for the furniture, mostly black receiver with colored highlights and the final finish can be to the customer's spec - matte / gloss or somewhere in between. Can't wait to see what you come up with!

THIS ^^^ I ran a small moving company in the early 2000s, I always told the client we COULD move it, but you'll still need a pro to level / re-felt / etc. -
Hey, James Bond made a living on eyeball shots with his .25 Beretta. Only way I figure he could have survived to graduate to the big bore .32acp and he still would have had to maintain eyeball shots... Practice, practice, practice

"D'oh, that's a big gun. Is that a 45 cal?"
A.J. Holst replied to suspiciousmind's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I caught the humor, though begin a homophobe, I won't be attending the Caliber / Johnson TGO Event -
I'm also partial to the Black Cherry, I think the color is better than the half-checked coco grips on my 75B.

So you wanted a VZ.61 Scorpion, cool piece of CZ / Cold War history, but in .32acp you never ponied up. Here is an alternative to an AR / AK style pistol. Stumbled across this little gem on the CZ website http://cz-usa.com/product/cz-scorpion-evo-3-s1-pistol/ Not sure of the bona-fides on the reviewer; the video info-mercial review is well done and worth the watch.

I would tell everybody to bring 2 handguns to a training class

Does a j-frame make you lazy
A.J. Holst replied to Parrothead's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
The only thing I can add is I completed a training seminar with Randy with my SP101 after my CZ went down. If you do not practice reloading your wheelgun in your spare time, when you have to reload under pressure, you are in for a rude surprise. Trust me. You don't want the BG mocking you as Randy did me, "let's all wait while AJ parties like it's 1899" I now believe in the New York Reload, the best reload for a wheelie is a second wheelie. -
Since the LCR is marketed as a lightweight carry gun, don't the adjustable rear and high rise front sites potentially get in the way? Are they subliminally marketing "this can be a range / target gun"? Regarding a straight comparison, I have both a 2" and 3" SP and liked the 3" better, even before it went to Gemini Custom.

Stopped in yesterday and was pretty impressed with their overall selection of gun stuff. Guns seemed to be priced at fair market value. There was a Star 9mm in the case @ $279, the finish indicated not-so-gently-used, but I did not handle it since I had enough money in pocket to cover an impulse buy. The accessories I recognized as available at other big boxes were +/- $1 to $2 Good selection of 9mm ammo, I bought some ZVS (Slovakia) 9mm 124gr fmj for 12.99/50 They had 9mm blazer / win/ rem at 14.99+ per 50 plus some high dollar 9mm target ammo. Found a Colt branded, made in China shotgun scabbard for $19.99. strap and D rings are super light weight, overall construction of the piece is good with a whole lot of snaps and straps and my 870 Tactical looks cool in it. I've been wanting a cleaning pad and they had a pistol sized (16"x20") which I snagged for $6.99

Congrats, I know you've been o n the hunt for months!

Would you also need left handed mags? Neat concept, who's going to be the first to post a review?

I own neither, but I'd keep the Star since Taurus ain't going out of biz anytime soon and you can always get a 24/7 .45

I've got a buddy who has been an ammo hoarder for years. Every time he sees ammo at a fair price, he'll pick up 2-4 boxes. If he has a house fire, yikes. But he is not an opportunistic reseller. When he divested of .380 handguns he sold all his .380 at the height of the panic for 10% more than he paid (to cover tax and stamp)

Open Carry Dress Code.
A.J. Holst replied to suspiciousmind's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
How about simply neat and clean? Tactical, practical, casual or professional - have some pride in your appearance and carry on Y'all are hurting my feelings. I routinely strap on my HP 995 carbine when heading to Kroger.
