April 19 Knoxville Suarez Training Group
A.J. Holst replied to Cruel Hand Luke's topic in Training Discussions
To get the most bang for your buck, here's a few best practices I learned from attending these "continuing ed" courses. Hydrate...continuously bring a camp chair A mag loader is nice to have bring a second gun/holster if you're got one. Allows you to "test drive" your BUG or secondary handgun and in the highly unlikely event your primary goes down, you still get to play. We drill in a field frequented by cows and in wet weather can get sloppy, wear appropriate foot gear. I promise the range will be much better groomed than we had at the last event. I bring a shelter and a folding table. Extra shelters are appreciated as there is no shade. For the ladies attending, my in laws provide bathroom facilities. Pack in your lunch and snacks, nothing close in terms of time. -

[quote name="btq96r" post="1252200" timestamp="1426707023"] "I am shocked- shocked- to find that gambling is going on in here!" But it's ok because, "Sir, here are your winnings." -
I might have to eat my words about .380....
A.J. Holst replied to daddyo's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I think TNOUTDOORS9 has some .380 tests posted on his channel. I loved my Bersa Thunder Plus but divested as 9mm is simply cheaper to shoot for folks who don't reload. While the opinion of .380 is "underpowered" isn't it is the primary caliber for LEO and civilians in central and south America as well as former iron curtain satellites? -
Not the old, "is that a spare mag in your pocket..." As long as it is not your back pocket?

Jeff "Gunblast" Quinn nice a nice review on his site. When I'm ready to take the plunge, it will be on my short list for my 1st AR

What happens if you are pulled over/charged with DUI and have a loaded and accessible gun in your vehicle?

Never heard of them but I think I need to stop by

That is so effing funny I can't even comment. (And I really try to avoid the eff word)

Because everyone knows real sugar is healthier than high fructose corn syrup. They should highlight the 3rd ingredient by volume is orange juice, so aside from sugar and caffeine, it's loaded with vitamin C

I felt like killing brain cells so I perused Yahoo "News" this morning. Mike is right on with reading crappola. I could have linked at least 6 articles and gone on an intelligent Rambo rant on all.

So you "hit the serial number lottery" on a mass produced, still in production item and it's worth more than retail? Of course Kimberly won't put a post sale value on it since I don't believe they offer a line of limited edition collectible firearms.

My buddy is selling his Baer with a few extras for $1300...slightly better deal on a brand name semi custom 1911

My girlfriend loves her G3 G17. Home defense only, no interest in edc at this stage.

Apparently we legally buy guns and resell to criminals and "other dangerous people" because we're friendly and have lax gun laws? Criminals typically don't get their guns from law abiding ccitizens. Call out and prosecute the straw purchasers but how dare anyone put me in this category simply because I am a gun owner. Effers.

What, no references to Phoebe Cates, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, pool scene? Pretty disappointed with the crew...

Dude also plead not guilty. I like his optimism.

Need a bank in mid south TN. Suggestions/reviews
A.J. Holst replied to n0rlf's topic in General Chat
Find a credit union with an open field of membership and join. When you travel do you need walk in branch service? Credit unions "share" an ATM network and with online services offered by about everyone do you need to "pay" for a bank's branch network? Military affiliation may qualify you to join Navy Federal (biggest CU in the country with a national footprint) -
Mountain Dew is my last vice. Quit smoking, rarely drink alcohol (substituted w/ MD) and don't gamble with the milk money. Current snack is Snyder Pretzel pieces, cheddar cheese, $3.69 for the broken pretzels they can't sell...

But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security. From our Declaration of Independence. What recourse will you have when guv'mint ignores your voice and votes to exercise your right and duty to change guv'mint? Perhaps those who believe "it will never happen here" are prepared for peaceful demonstrations, beatings and imprisonment to effect change. Guv'mint knows exactly why the 2A exists, so they attack and undermine using feelings and emotions to divide the American public they "serve"

M855/SS109 5.56 Ban!!! AKA Green Tip
A.J. Holst replied to mcordell's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Using the argument of more kids and cops will be killed by AR-pistol toting thugs was simply ridiculous. Is it probable an AR-pistol will be used in a criminal act or murder? Yes, just like every other firearm re - purposed by criminals for illegal activities. -
It took a lot not to whip someone's ass today

You are a good (and the better) man. It is possible the old guy had early dementia or always mentally challenged. The security tape would have gone viral - the "cripple" beating the snot out of the guy with his crutch. -
How about the "well informed"? In any retailer or gun show, legal buyers and gun enthusiasts (many of whom I assume are safe shooters) use terms like assault rifle, tactical and my favorite CLIP. Do I give my potentially unwanted .02 or let then live in blissful ignorance. In civilian hands all rifles are purposed for sport for primary use. Any rifle can be used for assault. In civilian hands to protect hearth and home from invaders of ALL kinds.
