  1. You already have justification to get a second, newer model...
  2. Blount County section of Seymour.
  3. Stamped Made in U.S.A.
  4. My advice is be really patient and try to find a private sale by expanding your search radius.   From the dealer side (in East TN) , trucks bring premium money, even with miles in excess of 150k.    Franchise dealers are retaining trade-in trucks with miles in excess of 200k   My lender clients are simply amazed at the prices dealers will pay for trucks going through the repo lane.
  5. ...great movie, currently airing on Netflix.
  6. https://youtu.be/hEcjgJSqSRU
  7. Interesting alternative
  8. Did you watch the Hitler rant immediately following? I don't know which one is funnier.
  9. Have you considered meth, you might be better off...because that can definitely get you arrested if a concerned parent happened by..lol
  10. Handcuffed, in a port o John whilst posting on TGO...maybe
  11. Having taken a shotgun class with Randy, one overlooked item is making sure the shotgun fits you. Randy noticed I was having difficulty quickly bringing to shoulder and transitioning to my weak side. He quickly determined the stock was too long. I have subsequently cut down the stock, added a recoil pad and now I can more easily manipulate the shotgun (18.5" Rem 870 tactical)
  12. The gal says I peed, the reporter doesn't even acknowledge or seem to care what she said as it doesn't pertain to the "news event". She simply continues to question her...the gal doesn't seem to realize that even though the camera is on and the reporter is asking questions that she can walk away at any time. You see a reporter, evade or escape, stop their encroachment and tell them to "back off"
  13. ...to TGO   You're on vacation and you still log in...(yes LIONSFAN, I think you need to admit the group you may have a small problem :))
  14. I think part of the problem is many (some) enter LE as a job for a check as opposed to the passion and desire to be a "cop" Salary ranges in non metro / rural area ate not levels to attract the best of the best.
  15. First time I have ever taken a rifle class.   Designed for 25 yards and less (Zombies encroaching on your property to the home invasion)   Day started with admin / safety briefing and dry work (weapon manipulation and mag retention)   Mag retention for home defense make obvious sense to me now...chances are you will not be strapping on your belt or chest rig with multi mags but rather grabbing an extra and stuffing it in your pocket or waist band - keeping a partially loaded mag in this scenario is not a bad idea.   Gear and gunz...I went minimalist and worked out of my pockets. I did not have a sling - mistake, kind of...when transitioning form rifle to pistol I had to either drop my rifle for a 2-hand pistol grip or tuck under my arm for a one-hand grip. Have a sling on your home defense rifle/carbine.   I shot my HiPoint 995 with TS Stock and $30 BSA Red Dot. It was flawless and ran as well as the Tavors, ARs and AKs. I was concerned about the 10 round capacity, but with an emphasis on pro-active reloads and mag retention and extra mags in my pocket, I didn't feel "under-gunned" Being a lefty, I followed the "step to the right" and shot off-hand. I can't imagine how difficult it would have been to do this with irons, the Red Dot made it "easy" to acquire the target with my non-dominant eye. The benefit was stepping to my strong side, my groups tightened up noticeably. I wasn't sure if the cheap red dot would hold zero, but with the light 9mm recoil, I think it's a keeper.
  16. For those thinking about training with Randy but still not 100% sure, I'll try to cover that angle...   This was a training day which is more of a skills assessment vs. a "formal" class   Day starts off with admin / safety briefing then on to fundamentals and dry work (grip, trigger, draw stroke, etc)   Randy includes his abbreviated version of PESTS EAT FAST,  complete dissertation here: https://homeguntraining.wordpress.com/2013/08/04/dealing-with-pests/   I personally like both the "pre-shootin" stuff; fundamentals review with a professional allows for immediate correction. Whether the full version or abbreviated, PESTS EAT FAST is a stark reminder that a BG will get as close as possible to assault you or your loved ones.   Attendees gear varied from modular belt systems to minimalist EDC set-ups. It's not a tactical fashion show - have a good belt and holster, comfortable clothes, hat / eyes / ears, an extra mag or 3 and ammo you are pretty well good to go.   The rain brought an interesting dynamic with extra cover garments and a sloppy deck. Learned to work with extra cover and I believe it was Timcar86 who brought up drawstrings and holstering. Randy gives out no prizes for fastest to re-holster and I think we've all seen the Youtube videos where a frog was caught in a trigger guard while holstering and BANG...The muddy deck made you think about stable / secure footing as you made the decision to draw.   I think JReedEsq rubbed off on me - I too mucked up my mags. Since I carry what is considered a military and law enforcement duty sidearm, I wiped my mags on my pants to get as much mud out as possible and keep on going...I am pleased to announce no feed/eject malfs and I don't think anyone else had any issues with their pistols. (CZ, G-lock, Sig, Springfield, Smith)   I noticed as my mags / mag well got gritty, I couldn't "cheat" and rely on gravity for my mag to free-fall, first time I've actually seen the need to strip a mag...good exposure to the reason one should develop this habit.   The FAM Exam...Everyone in the class is watching...is the shooter ready...3 second delay...exhale...BEEP...shoot...repeat...failed to qualify...this time.   Cool parts...seeing former training partners, making new friends and putting screen names with real people, realizing what an interesting cross-section of folks show up (novice to expert shooters, health care providers, educators, professionals, service providers and the oddfellows like me and Prag...   The Randy Review - low key, non-type-A personality, qualified to teach (dude can actually do what he is teaching) life-long learner/student, king of the analogy; I would consider him a Professional Expert. Having exclusively trained with Randy since 2010 (yikes) I am a fan, consider him a friend and consider myself a client...so I am biased.   I hope all the attendees felt the event was a valuable investment of resources and time, I know we are trying to schedule some stuff up for the fall, but we can discuss summer events...   I thank you all for allowing me to open the Sunday session with my favorite prayer!   Dear Jesus,   Please make us an instrument of your peace, where there is hatred let us sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy!   Grant that we may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love.   For it is giving that we receive, in pardoning that we are pardoned and in dying that we are born to eternal life!   AMEN
  17. Shame about New York, get an hour or two from the metro areas and it's an outdoorsmans paradise.
  18. I paid $10.97 at the Chapman highway Walmart. Shot close to 350 rounds through my Hi-Point carbine and 75B Omega Saturday / Sunday. No malfunctions and pretty clean shooting stuff. Interestingly I noticed on the box distributed by Tul, made in Italy.
  19. How about some WWII technology: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pykrete
  20. In the event of a home invasion, I'm not clearing my house (no little ones to protect) I'll be protecting my wife, barricaded upstairs in the bedroom with pistol, shotgun, rifle with ears on waiting for Dude to leave or choose to try to invade my bedroom. We've got insurance for all the stuff downstairs, I'm not using my life insurance early to play SWAT. I don't have that kind of training and I'm not secretly a ninja.
  21. I thought I saw a 97 for rent at Bud's so you could try if you're thinking about buying. My 75B Omega was flawless over two days of light rain and a muddy deck. Congrats on your purchase. They certainly are CZexy.
  22. This is the element which has a huge impact on the rights of law abiding citizens. They make it easier for criminals to obtain legally purchased firearms. The fee income obviously offsets the risk of federal charges, legal cost and the risk of doing business with criminals who are violent since they are acquiring firearms as their work tools. Interesting business model, I'll pass... Now add in the face to face transaction with a seller who doesn't care who they sell to as long as they have valid ID. Trolling around outside the guns shows, facebook/armslist and swap meets trying to make a quick buck. I don't have a solution. Making it harder for everyone to legally purchase doesn't change anything, it can't affect face to face, it certainly won't decrease the number of guns stolen by criminals and it will not have an impact of sales other than increasing cost and taking longer to actually take possession of your new firearm. FWIW, I try to ensure I don't contribute to the problem and only buy and sell ftf with folks who are well known to me either directly or through a friend.
  23. ^^^^^^^^^^^^ What he said I'm an under the radar kind of guy
  24. Practicality would take me down the convertible trail...especially if your semi's are in 9
  25. Bring shelters if you got them. Rain in the forecast. If rain ground will be extra sloppy
