Guess where you can not carry in SC….
A.J. Holst replied to timcalhoun's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Well, as a born again gun totin' Catholic, I am pretty sure God doesn't really care about guns (or weapons) in church. I have yet to find in the Bible where is it a sin to defend yourself and/or cause the death of an shooter trying to kill both Christians AND non-Christians OS brings up a good tactical point, in a church's common areas (or a movie theatre) a compact handgun is not the best choice considering the potentially extreme distances. I may add 25 yard combat pistol shooting to my regimen for my worst case "in a church" scenarios... -
Guess where you can not carry in SC….
A.J. Holst replied to timcalhoun's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Last time I checked, BGs don't ask permission or particularly care about firearm laws that are obeyed by law abiding citizens. -
We might be related...In my house you better follow the rule "all guns are always loaded"

I've been re-investigating ankle carry with a cheeeeap bulldog ankle holster and MK9. 1. Slow access 2. The weight on the ankle is disconcerting, I believe time can alleviate the feeling. 3. Good reviews on both the ankle glove and Renegade cozy partner. 4. Reviewers (in general) strongly suggest a calf strap if the option is available for the holster you buy. 5. According to the internet, alessi makes the cadillac of ankle holsters. Notice crossbreed is advertising a ankle holster.

New gun blamed for rise in LA County deputy shootings
A.J. Holst replied to waynesan's topic in Handguns
This reminds me of the NYPD and the KAHR K9...lighter/different trigger than the duty weapon coupled with limited training. The gun is at fault because your finger was on the trigger. In a mega department with tens of thousands of officers, how in the world can they get adequate training unless it is off duty? -
I lurked and creeped too, come on in, the water's fine!

My concern is future novels are likely to have the disclosure, "based on HBO'S series..."

Stopped by today, Garufa summed it up well. The bulk metal ammo cans were the deal of the day. Most 9mm ammo was priced at market, hope the .22 guys take it in the shorts. Gear and accessories priced at market. New guns at market, a lot of used guns priced over retail for a new equivalent. Found some Federal Tactical 12ga flite control for 4.99 / 5 round...

FWIW, JB Weld is an epoxy...Hozzie is correct, any quality epoxy will be pretty chemically resistant. From experience in a past life, I could bore you to interesting tears carrying on about how cool epoxies are... Surface prep is key for proper bond. As clean as you can get it and clean it once more. Apply epoxy. Once cured rough it up with and abrasives pad. This creates micro abrasions and increases the surface area for the topcoat to adhere to. Clean again and again. Apply topcoat - Again see Hozzie's post - the paint may be way less chemically and abrasion resistant that the epoxy weld. Follow mfg specs for mixing and working time. Worst case it works and has an obvious scar or it works and the cosmetic surgery went well.

Wanted to give my feedback and observations...sorry for the delay, been from Kingsport to Memphis and back again this week. All students were repeat clients having trained with Randy privately or through SI. 3 of the 5 students were health care providers. Cheap ammo adds to the training experience. I had aluminum based shells, the first 50 with no issues, the next 25 were hanging up as the gun got hot. I did learn how to mortar a shotgun to clear it. The odd thing is last class I used Fed alum with no problems, this was Win. With a pump shotgun, actuating your trigger finger should cause an uncontrollable urge to work the slide. Federal's 12ga Tactical low recoil both flite and non flite control patterned amazingly from my 870 Tactical. The flite control was slightly tighter at 15 yards than the OTC Remington Express 12ga OO at 4 yards. Chopping down the stock for better fit and adding a limb saver recoil pad was a huge improvement over last time I trained with it. I missed out on transition to pistol / pistol work and furthering my skills on proactive reloads, but I was napping in the shade. As Randy mentioned it got hot. I felt I had adequately pre hydrated and stayed hydrated; ended up with a blistering headache and nausea. I was drinking only water and at one point Andrew offered a drink with some electrolytes which I declined - perhaps the culprit? Got home took a shower, are dinner, felt fine... There is no doubt that students do get immersed in the training...where else are you going to see a guy throw what looks like his new Benelli M4 on the deck during a transition drill? Thank you to everyone for participating amd Prag for facilitating and hustling on the range. oh, it was Sunday, so we got to pray...pretty cool since He said something about 3 or more gathering in His name... Jesus, Please make us an instrument of your peace; Where there is hatred, let us sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light And where there is sadness, joy! Grant that we may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; To be understood as to understand; To be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; In pardoning that we are pardoned and in dying that we are born to eternal life!

Looking for Sig P239 IWB holster
A.J. Holst replied to spurge's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I've been pleased with High Noon ' s light duty line. I have 2 hidden ally (2" SP101 / MK9) and an upper cut for my CZ P01 SDP. The N82 Tactical is also a great product if you want a fully shielded holster. -

Reminds me of something Randy included in his dissertation, PESTS EAT FAST. Criminals gravitate to the nicer sections of town, you all got better stuff to steal than their home neighborhood. I'll bet the car jacking targets we nice rides and the driver was distracted - fiddling around with the radio or personal device while the light was red...Please PAY ATTENTION to the world around you...

I carry a snubnose revolver because.....
A.J. Holst replied to FortKnox's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
...because sometimes I like carrying a revolver? I have a 2" and 3" SP, the 2 was my original EDC, the 3 has been to Gemini Customs. Having done some course work with a revolver, unless you actively practice reloading (which I dont), speed strips are not speedy and speed loaders are slightly less slow. Validates the New York reload option... Revolvers are old school cool...let's party likes it's 1899! -
These are not the clones you are seeking. ..looked like trade ins with a shooters grade finish
