  1. That Gordon is a good dude!
  2. Are the 8 seconds a hold over from when they were carrying and reloading the S&W M1917?
  3. Okra picked from the garden, processed and immediately, lightly dusted with my wife's secret coating and lovingly dropped into the fry daddy with fresh oil... Great thread for general eating healthy tips...eat in moderation, be aware of when you eat, tasty healthy alternatives, reduce the amount of processed foods in your life and treat yourself to a reward from time to time.
  4. If surgery will reduce or eliminate the pain and one year of rehab will get you better than now and not zillions out of pocket, check it out. Wife had rotate cuff surgery 2 years ago, slow and initially excruciating pain and discomfort. 2 years later pain is mostly gone and better range of motion. Can't speak to rifles, but I would shoot through all my handgun calibers, you might have a big bore or three that shoot softer than some of your nines.

    Xs sights

I have one on my 3" SP101. It's the front only, so no experience with the picture with the rear installed. Great visibility in all light conditions. Easy acquisition but not necessarily a target shooting sight (with my skill level)
  6. Early on I heard an interview with a SC Legislator, he pointed out that SC had stricter laws than than new proposed "minimum guidelines" as suggested by the fed. Don't pass laws you can't or won't enforce.
  7. If you know Dolomite and where he lives, the East Town WM is (excluding their employees) is a good location with good products and services. Glad to hear they are stepping up, buy that lottery ticket! I bought tires at the Chapman highway Walmart a few years back, rotate balance every 3- 5k with an oil change - never had an issue.
  8. It is a bomb in a firey crash...even "empty" there would still be some residual fumes that could go boom...but thousands of people transport propane cylinders in trunks, trailers and trucks for camping all the time...unless you need a new one, strap it down and proceed safely.
  9. My guess is a count of perjury due to lying on a form is any kind of deterrent to a criminal. Only law abiding citizens answer the questions truthfully because well, we *try* to follow the rule of law to avoid becoming criminals. Kinda like the deterrent of prosecution for violating no gun zones.
  10. Hope the panther ends up in a museum, there are so few examples left and a highly sought piece...some feel the pinnacle of tank design for the era. Looking at the size of the 88, now I understand why the tiger had to be so big...
  11. I'm not surprised, it is more ammo for the anti gun crowd (both in and out of government) to crow, "see criminals can still legally purchase firearms even with background checks. We must crack down on ALL gun sales and retailers." The 3 day waiting period didn't deter this scumbag from committing his crime.
  12. Tell the same fable enough times, it becomes the truth. Palin is still quoted "I can see Russia from my backyard" even though it was Fey on SNL...
  13. Thanks for the info!
  14. If you've got the cash, catastrophic or monster deductible policy is a good option...she might get sick. Or gamble, under ACA you can't be denied for existing conditions, so if she gets "bad" sick, buy insurance then...
  15. Enact enough laws with vague language and open interpretation you make criminals out of the law abiding...
  16. Apparently I missed the actual event and the viral re death...still like the Christmas Guest...
  17. Passed away on 3 July. Always enjoyed his show as well as his comedic "Pigskin" tale and the Christmas Guest. Another symbol of classy Hollywood quietly laid to rest...
  18. Burning a quart ever 1000 miles or so smokes less than you think once the engine is warm, watch your oil level and quality of oil on dipstick and change filter as warranted. If you're leaking a quart and a half per month, well, isn't that like simply pouring it down a storm drain?
  19. It's a label designated by the guv'mint for the purposes of sorting and applying equal opportunity rights to smaller groups of the whole.   African American opens the floodgate to any recent non-white import from north Africa who sees the opportunity to loot the system...word of advice...pass on any job offers at the NAACP.   If it ever happened and the powers-that-be were actually ever called out on it, I can already hear the response   "We actually meant persons described as the B-word, we didn't want anyone to be offended...despite what we said and wrote, it's not for everyone from the continent of Africa"
  20. ... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parental_Advisory   I was in high school at the time and was sharp enough to realize - it's borderline censorship, it's not going to stop kids from wanting the music AND it takes parents who are involved, interested and engaged in their kids lives on how to choose and select age appropriate music and messages...and it's still in use today...WTF?   Profane language and explicit content in music carries a warning, yet virtually everything else is permissible?   Are you kidding me?   On what bizarre world does this even make sense?   A stab at censorship under the guise of "protecting the kids?"   Why - because kids can be easily influenced by propaganda through music, be it pro OR anti - guv'mint.
  21. We've got so many rights, they have superceded freedom.
  22. Great video even though the NRA is not the great racial equalizer as presented. Interestingly, it was then CA governor Reagan who started the slippery slope of gun control to disarm the Black Panthers, who according to Wiki, armed themselves to protect black neighborhoods from unchecked crime and corrupt police.
  23. I don't reload as it would take too much time away from posting on TGO. However, I do have friends who do... I believes battleop captures the essence and zen of Reloading.
  24. That's better than pre-scare pricing. Got the ammo mfg'ing running at full capacity and demand is slowing down... If you're like me, you probably have built your reserves up, so any shooting you do you've got options: 1. buy as you shoot, it's plentiful local and on line. 2. Shoot from your stock and restock at current and lower market price 3. Trade 9mm ammo for pants. Btw - already sold out, thanks for the heads up on a great deal!
  25. No experience with .380; I've had no failures with their 115gr 9mm in my CZ'S and MK9.
