1. I have been waiting in these since they started their company!! If they can do a sub 1k at in 308 I will be all over it!!!
2. I'm getting ready to start stripping a rifle I bought and was wondering what some of the parts are worth. I'll have a .308 barrel and a stock. Both will be new. Just wondering how much money I can recoup
3. CM1021

Which AR 308?

the Ruger SR762 is supposed to be mice. I think street price on them right now is about $1500. Little more than your wanting to spend but might be able to find one a little cheaper.
4. That savage your looking at isn't bad. I got my FP-SR for like $680 shipped I believe. And as others have said do NOT skimp on the glass. I put a Vortex Viper PST FFP on mine. I think I paid like $800 for it and that is LOW end. Everyone that I talked to has always told me put at LEAST the amount you paid for your rifle into the glass and more if you can. My .260 will either wear a Schmitt&Bender or a nightforce. Also that stock isn't the greatest. I put my .308 in a B&C medalist and have been very happy. My gun was a "budget" build and I believe I accomplished that, especially when the "long range" guys have 4-6K in their rifle easy...
5. Go with the Savage. When I was getting into the long range game I went with a Savage FP-SR in .308. I have had that gun for a few years now and now I'm getting ready to start building another savage in .260 Rem. All the work on the gun will be done by me, no need to have the action sent off and trued like a 700, no need to have them install a barrel, nothing. Just like Dolomite said Savage is the gun if you like to work on your own stuff. If you like to spend money having someone else doing it then by all means go with the mdl 700. Not trying to be a jerk just what I have realized with the remington. I read a lot of Dolomite's stuff and he definitely swayed my vote to the savage.
6. Widener's has never been to a show that I seen. But the reloading supplies were bill yesterday.
7. That's high for the gun. I've had two I'd then and lived them. Shot skeet and ducks with them and never had a problem. Your looking in the $300 range for a used semi. I can buy them at gun shows around here foe that price most are asking $350
8. When they say synthetic what are they talking about, the furniture?
9. That looks pretty awesome dolomite!! I haven't seen those before. I've been trying to decide if I want to do a chassis for this gun or not...
10. Thanks for the replies. I have a model 10 now that I bought stock and worked off of. I would like to stay with the same action. I want the side bolt release not the bottom with the 4.4" spacing. And I won't be using an axis it edge action either
11. Anybody know where I can buy a Savage action? I'm wanting to do a .260 build and I have a few Savages and they're super easy to change calibers on. Now I'm just trying to find a stripped action for a decent price. I know I can buy them from brownell's and places like that but the actions are almost a whole new rifle. I would like it to be a model 10 but is there a difference between say the 11/110/111/10?
12. Palmetto state makes some great products!! Definitely can't go wrong with most of their stuff...
13. Check out Palmetto State Armory. For the price you can't beat them. Also wait til black Friday. They put some great deals on the interwebs...
14. PSA also has complete STR build kits for 139.99 with free shipping if anyone is interested. I already ordered my two
15. I would definitely go with the 300 BLK. For deer you can push some of the lighter bullets at a very good speed. plus there's no specialized bolt, mags, and ammo is starting to catch up with demand on the 300 BLK. Plus if for some crazy reason, ;D, you decide later on you want a suppressor you have an awesome host for one.
16. Thanks foe the comments guys. I wanna try to get to oak ridge and do some shooting before long.
17. Here's my first attempt at a long range rig. Savage Model 10 FP-SR .308 EGW HD 20moa Base Weaver tactical Rings Vortex Viper PST 4-16X50FFP AAC 51T Brakeout (pending SDn6) and just put her in the B&C Medalist Tactical this morning. In the old stock(factory) she was shooting a .485 5 shot group with FGMM 175gr. it's the target on the peg board in the pic. I'm gonna start working up some loads this weekend hopefully. Only thing left is to add a DBM and possibly a different bolt head. I don't really like the stock one too much...

Monarch vs Viper

Definitely go with the vortex. I own 3 rifle scopes, a red dot, and 2 pairs of binos...They're all top notch!!
19. Did you get it to the range? I've been looking for one of these for a while. If you don't mind me asking what did you have to give for it?
20. I would be interested in this! I'm in EMS so I would be up for a little bit of Emergency medicine teaching. Some of the basic stuff...
21. What the sellers did wasn't correct. should have asked for ID but what CNN did was blatantly against the law and they knew it!! But there won't be any repercussions from that.
22. I didn't know where to put this so I figured I would put it here for everyone to see. Found this on AR15 and it made my blood boil!! I was at this show and If I would have seen this jackwagon filming I would have quickly had him thrown out. There are signs that says no videography or flash photography!! This is garbage!!    http://www.cnn.com/video/?hpt=hp_c3#/video/politics/2013/04/11/ac-pkg-savidge-gun-show-gun-buying.cnn
