  1. "The best" is a relative term. It really depends on what you want to do with the rifle. After a lot of research I decided with the help of a buddy to build an AR in the 6.5 Grendel caliber. What I was looking for, I felt like it was the best for me. The round is accurate, flat shooting, has low recoil and able to take several types of game. It packs more of a punch than the 5.56 which is also why I liked it. I mainly built it for deer/varmint hunting. The main negatives are both scarcity and cost of ammo. The true test if the rifle is going to be "the best" for me will be during deer season this year. Below is a link you may find helpful on the Grendel as well. Good luck. 2. I would be lying if I said a small part of me was not trying to stir some up with the post. Whether it has been beat like a dead horse or not, it’s a topic that a lot people both have strong opinions and disagreements on. Makes for both a good discussion and interesting read. I really just wanted to see if people could come up with legitimate reasons for OC, like Erik88 did, or if they would be based on arrogance, like strickj.
  3. I read a couple already but they were more than 7 months old. I'm looking for someone to tell me the benefits of open carry or why they open carry. I just can't see any benefits that have merit.
  4. I would like to know everyone's opinion on open carry as I do see the topic brought up quite a bit. I personally do not see the point except while at the range, on private property, or hunting. I just feel the negatives out weigh the positives while in public. Please explain to me the benefits of open carry in public though all opinions on the topic is welcome.
  5. I would recommend looking at the Kel-tec PF-9 as well. Affordable and easily concealable as it’s always in my front pocket. It does have a little pop while shooting it but is not unmanageable. I also owned a P3AT and ultimately went to the PF-9 because of the ammo. .380 ammo was both hard to fine and expensive. You can find 9mm easier and for half the price.
  6. What about the quad rails for it?
  7. Thanks for everyone's feedback, especially oriental. I decided it was not the gun for me. To many reviews described it as flimsy, and when I pay close to $600 or more, I don't want a flimsy gun. Things that I was looking for in the rifle though, compact, fun to plink, and close range work actually led me to purchase another Kel-tec product. I bought a Sub 2000 in 9mm that accepts my Glock 17 mags as well. Already having an AR in a 6.5, I just thought the sub 2000 filled more of a gap in my collection if you will. I will let you know how it goes after I get it in and able to throw some down range. Thanks again.
  8. I have read that about the recoil, but on what level? Is it bad enough to make it not enjoyable to shoot, or just more than an AR? Does the gun overall feel flimsy or in the folded position? I haven't had a chance to hold one, but again, its versatility has me at least intrigued. Thanks for everyone's input so far.
  9. As far as you can see with your choice of optics. It's a bad round.
  10. How is the accuracy and range (compared to an AR)? I take you don't have many FTF? Are you looking to sell the A version?
  11. After doing some internet research I have recently become infatuated with this rifle from Kel-Tec. I currently have an AR in the 6.5 Grendel caliber but was looking to add a .223 to my safe and this one caught my eye. The folding stock along with price point (if you could actually find one) makes this gun appealing to me. I wanted to know if anyone has owned, shot or handled this gun and could offer their opinion. Thanks. Kel Tec
  12. Isn't there a range off of 840 and 65 near Springhill/Franklin? I have been told it's around $40 bucks for a yearly membership. Has anyone been to this range or have an opinion on it?
  13. Bud's got one into today and have it up for auction on their site. It is already at $485. How long does it normally take for new gun to level off? It would probably help if Kel-Tec would ship more and produce more (that goes for all of their guns). I guess that's how the supply and demand game is played though. I'm not paying that much for what will probably just be an expensive plinker in the end.
  14. I watched a clip on youtube today about this gun and the guy from Kel-Tec said the ballistics of the .22mag out of the PMR30 were similar to the ballistics of a .22LR out of a rifle. I realize that the .22mag is a rifle round and you lose quite a bit when shooting it from a pistol, but that comparison stole some thunder on this gun for me. Maybe I have over hyped this gun in my head.
  15. Once you get comfortable with the Glock reset on the trigger, I think you will find the trigger to be just fine.
  16. Well, it looks like one went on Gunbroker today for $580+$35 Shipping+Dealer Transfer Fee. I have been enamored with this gun since I found out about it back in January, but not for $600. Looks like I may have to wait 6 more months to get this gun at a reasonable price. If you also notice in the link below, the gun sold with in 3 hrs of being listed. What a DA. 17. The first batch was sent to distributors on July 16 according to Kel-Tec. I did find one for sale on the link below. They want $650?!! Should that be in pesos? I really hope no one buys it at that price just because of the hype. This shop is out of FL so it it make sense that they received it first. Hopefully they will start making their way here soon but at a reasonable price. GunsAmerica - Kel Tec PMR 30 22WMR - Kel-Tec Pistols > Pocket Pistol Type - Guns For Sale & Gun Auctions B"H#
  18. Are you on an e-mail list from Kel-Tec or did you shoot them an e-mail? I e-mailed them back in May and they said they woud start shipping in June. Who knows, maybe they do start shipping them but hold them until a release date, like an album. Either way, I'm getting one the first day it goes up for sale. I already have over 1,000 rounds of .22 mag and don't even own a gun in that caliber!
