  1. I've known many people that have carried them during muzzleloader season. Never heard of anyone getting cited. Technically I would call the TWRA. On a side note everyone I have ever known to tote one has never been able to kill a deer with one, lol.
  2. She's the reason you can't "really" contact your representatives.
  3. My dad gave me a microwave once. The timer didn't work. Found out cooking popcorn. Really really Scorched popcorn is about as bad as anything.
  4. Hog hunting over bait with a solar powered motion activated security light could be fun I hear.

    Christmas list

I'm gonna take whatever gift Wyld2k has in our family Christmas dirty Santa game thing. But I could use an apron to wear cutting up deer, a new coffee cup, a new dehydrator, a work shirt or 2
  6. I use a metal 5 gallon bucket.
  7. We'd all be millionaires and the so-called 1% would become 100% and they could rape with authority at tax time. I'm surprised they haven't done that.
  8. A caller on Valentine this afternoon made a comment, tongue n cheek, that with the billion dollar plus cost of the crap website they could've just given the 300 something million US citizens a million dollars each to take fend for themselves. Seriously. Why wouldnt that work?
  9. Pop rivets would be better than those screws. You could also pop rivet in a piece of leather or something as a hinge instead of the deal you got there.
  10. They came up on camofire last week and I almost ordered my little boy one for Christmas. almost 3, he'd love it! I could see it working but damn its stupid!
  11. I like mine too. It shoots well. What bullet/powder are you shooting in yours?
  12. Reelfoot or TN National Wildlife Refuge
  13. we had a large collection we found back when i was surveying.
  14. I think they call this a "selfie" pic... Anyways big fat old doe: Watched her feeding for nearly an hour until I just got tired of watchin' and decided to get in the game. First one I've shot with this rifle and figured I needed to test it. TC Impact, 250gr Shockwave bonded/110gr Blackhorn 209, 50yds.
  15. I saw a bunch. Saw a 4 pointer this morning, 2 spikes and 3 does, and 1 unconfirmed that i think was a small buck harassing 2 of the does this evening. I had one spike walk right under me and I spit on his head. He freaked out looking around everywhere but never really spooked or thought to look up. I shouldn't aggravate em but it was pretty dang funny watching him.
  16. Unemployed or shot execution style in a beer cooler. I'll take unemployed.
  17. The Grandparents work in Crawfordville. If you hit forest rd 13 out of Crawfordville and drive about 20 mi on the dirt road you get to Smith Creek Rd and they just live a couple miles N on it. My wife and I like Apalachicola too. Did you go to the air conditioner museum, lol? We also like Port St. Joe.

    Not my Job

Sounds bout right. It's funny but isn't really laziness. They did it on purpose. It's a pain the azz to stop the paint truck, get out move something and then restart. I'm sure the guy running the truck got to it and just said "to hell with it. We'll just have to go back and fix it."
  19. North of Sopchoppy in Wakulla County. Apalachicola NF. Their prop line to the west is the Ochlocknee River. It's a great place and covered with deer and turkeys. But I have a hard time hunting there. It drives me crazy that it's so damn thick, it don't have hardly any land features compared to my TN hills n hollers, the deer seemingly rut whenever they feel like it (no matter the month, everytime I've been down I have seen very small fawns) and did I mention it's so damn thick. Coolest thing is they have a muzzleloader hunt on up in Feb and that's fun.
  20. My wife gets some off brand vac bags somewhere online that significantly cheaper. A sausage stuffer is the next thing I'm gonna get. I might go to regular old game bags then. We knock out about 4 deer a year, I figure 2 hogs would be about right. I need some wild chickens like Key West then we wouldn't buy chicken either. Ya just can't kill enough turkeys. We'll may end up in FL eventually too. Their place is a ways out, a couple hundred acres, and surrounded by Natl Forest. If I was to live there, where I could see to them, I'd probably set up hog traps. The thing I don't particularly enjoy is it's full of big fat eastern diamondbacks.
  21. When you get the right equipment and have the space doing them yourself is no big deal. It used to be kinda a pain for me cause I just didn't have a good place to do it. Now I have a good garage and an extra garage fridge. I acquired a 10' plastic top folding table. A good grinder and I bag it all with a Foodsaver vacuum sealer. Biggest thing was the grinder. I could've bought one years with what I spent on processing. I sure wish I could come by a hog or two a year. They're around my wife's grandparents place down in FL but every time we go I just don't see much sign and I never have the time and Grandpa just can't physically put out bait in advance of us coming. My wife's cousin has put up some auto feeders in the past but the damn bears tear em down and screw em all up. Not to mention Grandpa really can't fill them. He has killed 2 or 3 good sized (hogs) though.
  22. I love em. Eat em anytime I find them ripe.
  23. Yeah I've used it twice. It works well and is very simple. Cool thing is it keeps a log. mine goes back to turkey season 2012. So you can remember what you've killed and the date easy plus you can add comments too. I like it.
  24. I never could come up with a reason not to wear one. I've even got in the habit of hooking up when I climb/descend. I didn't use to do that but it takes like an extra 30 seconds. I had a good friend fall and break both ankles and had a tree step rip him open on the way down. a little more and the step woulda hung his bottom rib and done God knows what. Luckily he lived. Very sad.
  25. I know. i was being sure i made a point that if my method is done in the field make sure ya done logged em in. If not leave somethin'
