Hey everyone. I appreciate everyone's comments on my earlier thread asking for suggestions on a rifle purchase. I narrowed it down to two choices, a FNH Scar or LWRC M6A2 D-Dea. I have always liked the Scar, but the LWRC won out due because I believed that if something broke it would be easier to find a replacement. That may be faulty reasoning, but that was the issue that pushed me to get the LWRC. I ordered the rifle a couple of weeks ago and picked it up today. It is very nice. I hope I made a good choice on this rifle. Anyway, here are some pics of my new LRC M6a2 d-dea rifle. I like the flag on the rifle. Just gives it a little something extra. There is one on the top too. This is the case that came with the rifle. Seems to be very nice. Once again, I appreciate everyone's help and comments. Now I have to go learn to shoot the thing. Any recommendations on any non-Wolf practice ammo?

+1 Volquartsen has some great stuff. A little pricey though. I bought their trigger accurizer and some grips from them. The only downside to the grips, which isn't a big deal to me, is that I sometimes have to pull my mag from the gun instead of it dropping freely. Outside of the one issue, I love them. https://www.volquartsen.com/products/935-laminated-wood-pistol-grips This is my Mark III Hunter with Volquartsen grips.

Ignoring my earlier smartass post, I really don't know who I would like to see as the president. I can name so many reasons why I don't like the potential current crop of 2012 contenders. Out of the big names mentioned, I guess Palin would get my vote. All of the other big names, outside of Paul, Thompson, and Palin are too "beltway" type. I don't like Huckabee, Romney (whom I did vote for in the primary), Ginrich, or Pawlenty. I know it is still very early, but the fat man (Chris Christie) in NJ is doing some good things in an extremely liberal state. I like Tom Tancredo too. I really wanted him to win in Colorado. Someone like Judge Napolitano would be ideal, but that is all pie in the sky.

Alhambra Shriners Gun Show...Chattanooga...11/13-11/14

I went on Saturday. It seems like eveytime I go to this particular show I tell myself that it will be the last time. I don't understand it. The show keeps getting worse each time they have it. Very unfortunate. -
Alhambra Shriners Gun Show...Chattanooga...11/13-11/14

I will be going. The last few shows at the Alhambra Shrine have been pretty crappy. Usually the show at Camp Jordan is a little better. -
I used to hate Glocks. I always thought they were just some cheap plastic gun. I finally bought one (G34) and realized how much of a fool I had been. While I still don't like my Glock as much as my 1911s, after a few mods my Glock is absolutely fantastic. I have put about 2k rounds through mine with no problems whatsoever. Based on my experience, Glock makes a fine handgun. I am very pleased that I bought one.

Those pics are awesome. Will they still allow you to hike down to the bottom of the canyon?

I have wasted 70 plus hours on it.

Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed. How are you enjoying New Vegas by the way? I am about through with it. It is a lot longer than Fallout 3, but it is enjoyable.

Considering I pretty much have a nonexistent social life, I don't know anyone personally who is in financial need. I know this is passing the buck, but I will place my trust with you guys on who receives the donations. Whether it is someone on TGO, or someone we know personally or related to, or another charity, it doesn't really matter to me. In the end, some people will receive much needed help from the generous folks here on TGO.

Do those come with condiments?

Well crap, ran into a little bit of a problem. I went to restart my game and load up where I left off. The saved game isn't there. Everything I did tonight was a waste. I googled save bugs with New Vegas. It seems there are numerous issues with NV, one of them being a save bug. Since I was just doing a little bit of local exploring and looting, I wasn't manually saving my game. I was allowing the autosave to keep track of my progress. Apparently it didn't work tonight. I know a lot of games have bugs in them, but sheesh, you would think that a game of this caliber and level of anticipation that Bethesda might copy Bioware (Mass Effect and Dragon Age) and not put out a game with a serious bug in it.

That is impressive. I only learned about Raven Arms last week when I googled a search on guns used in most crimes. Raven, Jiminez, and some other manufacturer (which were all related) made it in the top 10. The article claimed the popularity amongst criminals was due to very cheap cost. It also stated that the quality was less than desirable. That was the reason for my question.

I was actually excited about getting to vote for the first time in 92. Freshman year in college, and getting to vote made me feel like a grown up. I didn't really start feeling grown-up until I had to start paying back student loans and paying taxes. I've been voting ever since. My record hasn't been very good on presidential elections, about 40%. Bush, Dole, Bush, Bush, McCain.

I have actually never seen one before, much less shoot one, but I was wondering what the accuracy is like on one of those. Is it point at the target and your will hit it somewhere, or will it hit where you are aiming at?

Tired of discussing politics and gays? Answer this then:
mav replied to E4 No More's topic in General Chat
I am certain I haven't shot as many different guns as you guys, but out of all that I have shot I would have to say that the sweetest gun I have got to fire is my Sig P226 X5 L1. The trigger is just absolutely sweet and the accuracy is unbelievable. Even in the hands of a crappy shot, this gun makes them look like they know what they are doing. -
Well if you like Fallout 3, then you will like New Vegas. Just got through playing for 1.5 hours. It is like playing a large expansion pack to Fallout 3 except with some extra goodies. I quit when I got killed by 3 giant radscorpions. If it wasn't for the Mass Effect series, Fallout 3 would have been my all-time favorite rpg. I can't wait till next year, they are gonna be coming out with some awesome stuff. Just to name a few: Dragon's Age II Mass Effect III Witcher II Crysis II Dead Space II Deus Ex III I wish they would get it together and put out Hitman 5.

Anyone practice shooting in the dark?
mav replied to Will Carry's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
During one of my firearms lessons, my instructor had me working with a flashlight in a dark range. It was pretty tough. It got even harder when he would stand somewhere behind me and start yelling out commands. The "threat" then immediate "body armor" command I found to be incredibly difficult with a flashlight. -
Just installed it last night. I played it for about 30 minutes. Looks just like Fallout 3. I do like some of the different choices you get on ammo etc... I will probably spend all weekend glued to my computer playing it.

I would like to train with Ronnie Dodd as well. I paid up front for a class last December. The class never happened. He kept canceling and rescheduling the class. Everyone I have talked to says he is a great guy, and I am sure he is. They also say he has too much on his plate, which based on the fact that I have yet to receive any training and he still owes me $150, I would agree on that point as well. If you register for one of his classes, I would not pay in advance.

That is cool, but it also sucks for me. I wanted to play Fable II, but never got the chance since they didn't put it on PC. I will buy Fable III though, which I believe will be released on PC in January.

Have you read the books? They are fantastic.

That was very nice. Thank you for sharing.
