How do you like that GSG 22? Is the accuracy pretty good?
-
Anyone ever try one of the BarSto barrels in their Glock? Comments?
-
Man, if you were that slow in a self defense situation, I would hate to be you. Your video showed me that I need to practice a lot. What mag pouches are you using?
-
I don't mind the grip angle at all on the Glock. The only thing I do not like is the bulging backstrap. It just doesn't fit my hand all that well. If it was flat, it would be perfect.

I like these threads, but I also hate them. They are good in that they inform everyone on what may be on the horizon. They suck because it makes a lot of people say, "Oh . I gotta go buy whatever." Then the price skyrockets.

I am looking to buy some more 17 rd mags for my 2011 in 9mm. Thanks
-
Yes, I have done it. Very easy to do. Just be careful with the polishing. I didn't feel a big difference after I did the polish job. I ended up going with a Vanek Classic Grandmaster trigger. Classic Trigger Kits - Vanek Custom Vast improvement. You have to be careful because the trigger is extremely light. Concerning Glock-haters, I don't think I have met one yet. While Glocks are by no means my favorite handgun, they are the first recommendation I make to people who want an inexpensive and reliable handgun.

Eloquent as always. I know I am Joe Nobody who only recently got into firearms a little over a year ago. I just purchased a new Nighthawk 2011 (17 capacity 9mm) a little over a week ago. I have now put over 600 rounds through it, and it is a joy to shoot. I also have a tricked out Glock 34. The Glock is a very fine gun, and I am glad I bought one (I will probably buy another G19 in the near future). However, if I were given the choice between my G34 or the 2011 for target shooting and/or use in a self defense situation, I would have to go with my new 2011. I just like the 1911/2011 platform better. I have at least another 6 months to go before I get my Springfield Pro in, which I am highly anticipating.

I hope this is tongue in cheek. It would be quite impossible to ban anything with chemicals in it. I swear, if someone said you could get high by sun-drying a turd and smoking it, there would be a bunch of jackasses that would try it.

I wonder why they aren't looking at a Glock.

He was and still is a jerk. Since I didn't watch his show, I couldn't have cared less whether they would have kept him or canned him. If I had the choice, I would have prefered a sulfuric acid colonic over watching his show.

Good article. I am glad we have people on our side who can eloquently state our case.

Very nice. I would love to be able to do that. Since nobody asked, how did the Baer shoot?

I would keep what you have. I have a 2003 Dodge Ram Quad Cab 4x4 with the Hemi. It used to be my daily driver until I started to spend almost $800 a month for gas. It is driven very little nowadays (<5k miles per year). It has 142k miles on it and is still going strong. Unless you just want a new truck, I would definitely keep what you have. Vehicles only do two things. They get you from point A to B, and they go down in value (not counting classics).

As some of you know from the "Show and Tell" section, I recently purchased a Nighthawk Talon with the FLX upgrade. I wanted to do a little review since I have now put 500 rounds through it. I have been recently shopping around for a new EDC pistol chambered in 9mm. While I love .45 acp, I prefer 9mm. A little over a month ago I had asked my local dealer to find me a 9mm H&K P30 in the V1 configuration. After about 3 weeks I started to get a little impatient, so I started shopping around online. As I was looking around, I ran across a FLX upgrade on Nighthawk Custom pistols. The FLX upgrade is basically a double stack 5" government model 1911 built on a STI frame. The FLX upgrade is offered on Nighthawk's Talon, GRP, and Dominator lines in either .45 acp or 9mm. The FLX uprgrade is also offered on their Predator line, but it is only in 9mm. Standard capacity mags for .45 are 12 rounds, and 17 rounds for 9mm. Being a fan of the 1911 platform, the FLX upgrade was rather intriguing. The downside to the gun is the huge price tag. It is incredibly expensive. Another option I had for an EDC gun was another customized Glock. Since I could not find the P30 I wanted my choices were between a customized Glock and the Nighthawk. After a few days of debating, I decided to go with the Nighthawk. I received my gun earlier this week from Bud's. The Nighthawk Talon came with 2-17 round mags, pistol bag, and test target. As you can see from the pic, the Talon came with front cocking serrations and Novak 3-dot night sights. The top of the slide is serrated just like my Nighthawk T3. The finish on the Talon is black Perma-kote, which I have never been impressed with. From my experience Nighthawk's Perma-kote finish is not as good as Wilson's finish. The trigger on the Talon has horizontal serrations with a trigger pull around 4-5 pounds, which is a little heavier than my other semi-custom 1911s. There is absolutely no creep in the trigger; it is definitely a glass breaker. The grip on the gun was suprisingly narrow. It is not much wider than my Wilson CQB with standard grips. The next day I took it to the range, I was quite surpised at the weight of the gun fully loaded. The weight was very managable. Although I haven't put the Talon on a scale, it did not feel any heavier than a 5" government model 1911 in .45acp. Once I started putting rounds down range I was totally blown away with how the gun handled. This gun is a tack driver with very minimal recoil. The recovery between shots is extremely fast. Over the next several days I managed to put 500 rounds through the Talon with zero problems. While I am not a fan of Nighthawk's Perma-kote finish, I was pleased that none of the finish has already started to wear. Maybe I got a good one. In summary, this gun isn't for everyone. The main deterrent is the price. While you do get what you pay for in most instances, this gun is just too expensive. For most people, the price just isn't worth it, which is certainly understandable. However, if you do have some extra money and are looking for a high capacity gun that is very fast and accurate, then I would highly recommend a Nighthawk with the FLX upgrade. As final note, the Talon was sort of an impulse buy since I was unable to find the H&K I wanted. Funny thing is three days after I got the Talon in, my dealer called me and said they had a H&K P30 in the configuration I wanted. Well , I guess I will be getting the H&K next week, and depending on how it handles, either it or the Talon will go in the safe.

You could always wear an Omega X-33. It is what I wear daily.

A Rolex is an automatic watch. Personally, I do not like Rolex. I prefer Omega and Breitling. I think they make better watches. I scratch my head at those who buy fake watches. Either buy the real thing or buy a less expensive but better quality watch than the fake watch. It seems that some who buy those fake watches are trying to impress other people. Don't, because nobody really gives a crap about what kind of watch you wear.

I don't have anyone on my list. I try to listen to what everyone has to say even though there are some that tend to speak out of their ass. They know everything about anything.

Looks pretty cool.

I will be looking at getting a P30 as well. It was to be my next handgun purchase, but I saw this Nighthawk and bought it. I will probably get a P30 later in the year.
