Best statement I have read in quite some time.

6.25 miles of trail running is tough, especially with hills. I am not much of a runner. If I run, I usually stick to the track and keep it around 3 - 5 miles no more than 3 times a week. We have a bunch of people at work who are getting into running and doing some of the local 5k races. All of them talk about how much better they feel since they started running. That is very true. I think you are doing her a great service by showing her that being in shape is important. So many kids today are really out of shape. I guess that is due to being indoors most of the time. Nothing wrong with being small. I'm 6.1' and 180, which isn't big by any means. I would much rather be small than too big.

I didn't even realize TN had a point system. I have been lucky when it comes to tickets. My first was was driving 60 mph in a 35 mph zone. I had to go to before Judge Williams on that one. He was very nice to me and threw out the ticket. He only charged me court cost and made me take a defensive driving course. My last ticket was around 5 years ago. I was doing 97 in a 70 in GA. The officer was nice and dropped it to 88. I still had to pay $150 for the ticket. Now, I have really slowed down to the point I could drive Miss Daisy.

I have been eating pretty clean over the last several months so I could lower my body fat percentage. I am finally at the weight and body composition I want to be at before I start putting on some more weight. My goal is to put on around 20 lbs, and that should put me right around 200 lbs. It will probably take me a couple of months to put on the weight. I will start pushing my caloric intake up to about 5,000 calories per day with around 150 grams of protein a day and two servings of creatine. I am hoping during this time I will not to put on more than a couple of inches on my waist, which should keep me right around 30'. I am really gonna have to watch what I eat. No fast food. By the way, I am not a part of Michelle Obama's food and obesity police. I hate that s**t.

I have contemplated doing a thread like this for quite a while. Every now and then someone posts a thread saying they have started some new exercise program, they achieved some personal goal in an athletic event, reached a desired bodyweight, or quit smoking/drinking. Being someone who goes to the gym almost everyday, I have always enjoyed reading about someone setting a goal in the area of health and/or lifestyle change. However, it is a little dissappointing when there is no follow-up as to whether they accomplished what they set out to do. I was wondering if you guys thought it would be a good idea to start a thread where someone posts their health related goal and continues to post stating their progress. I don't know about you guys, but I find it encouraging when someone sets a goal and reaches it. It keeps me motivated to press on until my goals are achieved.

You're a funny guy.

You are correct. Thank goodness I don't have to or I might be the one accidently discharging my firearm.

Pretty close to one. In all seriousness, it will take me the remainder of the year to finish those games. It took me 2 months to finish the COD: Black Ops campaign. Once spring gets here, a lot of my free time will be used up on my bicycle or on the golf course.

The only thing that came to mind after reading the article was, oops.

Nice. Too nice for me to own since I am very hard on knives. Did you ever get my PM on the CR fixed blades? -
I didn't know it was coming out in March. Sheesh, that is 4 games I will be buying in March. Crysis 2, Dragon's Age II, Deus Ex, and now Homefront. Good thing I am single.

I had an Ultra Raptor II. I didn't have any problems with it and it was very concealable. The only reason I did not keep it is I do not like alloy frame 1911s. If it would have been all steel, it would still be in my collection.

This has been a really good thread. There have been disagreements as to what role the guvment should take on this issue, but all of the disagreements have been intelligent and very civil.

Yes, the budget is balanced in the sense that you don't spend more than you make. However, it is not taking into account the existing debt and the interest on that debt. Therefore, you have to make additional cuts in order to start paying down the debt. Unless we start paying off our current debt, a balanced budget is not enough. It still leaves us going in the wrong direction. The thing that ticks me off about the whole situation is this is nothing more than a Ponzi scheme. Bernie Madoff went to prison over doing this type of crap and our politicians don't even get a slap on the wrist. Go figure.

When you have to drive 60 miles to work it really sucks. Back when gas first hit the $3 mark a couple of years ago, I was paying anywhere from $600 - 800 a month for gas when my truck was my daily driver.

I just got the information packet including my card this evening. There was a brochure offering the $5k accident benefit and $2.5k armscare benefit included with eveything else. The brochure states that it must be completed and mailed within 5 days, which means I will probably wait to the last minute and rush it off to the post office.

According to GameSpot is your go-to source for video game news, reviews, and entertainment, March is going to be a great month for those who are into wasting their free time playing video games. There are three titles to be released in March that I will definitely buy. Dragon's Age II BioWare | Dragon Age Crysis 2 Crysis 2 - EA Games Deus Ex: Human Revolution Deus Ex : Human Revolution - Welcome I played all of the previous installments of the aforermentioned games, and enjoyed each one immensely. Anyone planning on getting any of these titles?

I picked up a copy last week. I didn't have anything going on so I have been playing it this weekend. I would highly recommend this game. It is fantastic and the graphics are phenomenal. If you like first person shooters with a horror twist, you might try this one out. I don't think you would be disappointed. While the original Dead Space isn't required to play Dead Space II, it does help a little with the background story.

I know some of you did. Others, not so sure about. Perhaps if I would have wrote it in crayon.

Looks nice. Come with a holster?

My intent with the original post was just to illustrate another example of government coming in with an ax to solve a problem when in fact a scalpel would be more effective. All of us want a solution to the meth problem, and all of us want to give our LEO the tools and information required to effectively deal with the illicit drug manufacturers. The question is, do we want government snooping more and more into our daily lives all under the guise of combating some evil? I think the answer is no. As stated earlier, we see so many cases where government overreachs in its attempt to right some wrong. The most recent examples have been Obamacare, TSA nonsense, and the obesity police.

Yes, it is chemistry. I would explain it to you, but that is probably not very wise since I don't want to be accused of teaching someone to make meth. I am a chemist by trade, that is the only reason I know it.

So is alcohol. There are numerous violent alcoholics out there, yet I don't see any such legislation even being contemplated requiring you to go through all the steps that it takes to purchase a small package of Mucinex. This combat meth legislation had nothing to do with protecting children. However, the use of such language is designed to stifle debate and demonize those who would oppose it. I mean, who would be against protecting children? No one.
