I would like to see those numbers as well.

Perhaps if you had one of your Scars on your shoulder, wearing your bdus, and donning a flak jacket, then I might say you were paranoid. While I don't usually have a gun on me at home, I can access one very rapidly.

It doesn't bother me in the least. Why? If I got mad at every instance where I witnessed someone disrespecting their country I would be a miserable person 24/7. When I see such distasteful displays I usually say to myself, "What a piece of s**t," and go about what I was doing.

Several months ago I purchased a new EOTech HWS and 4X Magnifier from OpticsPlanet. Don't know why I purchased them since I'm not much of a long gun guy. I guess it was just an impulse buy. Anyway, I tried out the magnifier the other day and I noticed a problem. There is either a problem with the magnifier and/or magnifier mount because the magnifier, evenly when properly seated, moves enough to give a different sight picture after every shot. The movement of the magnifier cause the reticle to appear in a different location each time. I will be the first to admit that I know very little about sights, but it seems to me that that shouldn't happen. I contacted Optics Planet and they told me I would need to contact the manufacturer. I sent an email to them and I am waiting for a response. Has anyone dealt with EOTech in regards to warranty service? Comments? Thanks

I know it isn't one of your choices, but I wouldn't switch to AT&T. We had Verizon at work, and it was great service. We switched to AT&T due to cheaper cost, and the service is nowhere near as good as Verizon. I guess it is the same with all things; you get what you pay for.

Don't know about the rest of you guys, but I am still waiting on GM's flagship model to become available, the Barackus. It runs on nothing but bulls**t.

By claiming that burning the Quran incites violence is to give certain segments of society special rights while taking constitutional rights away from another. If a muslim commits some violent act as retribution for the Quran burning then that muslim should be held accountable for his actions. The same thing goes for a black person beating up some one for being called the n-word or a gay person assaulting someone because they were called a queer or fag etc... There are no special rights in this country. There is no right to be free from offense, and I hope to God we never create one.

Precisely. During the first presidential debate, Huckabee made claims that the war on terror was a religious war, and that he would be better suited than the others to understand it because he was the only one with a theology degree. This was the first problem I had with Huckabee; he lied to millions of americans. He does not have a theology degree. The second problem came about when Huckabee made that deplorable attack on Romney (who is by no means a prize candidate) by stating that mormons believe that Jesus and Satan are brothers. What does this have to do with anything in regards to fulfilling one's role as president? Nothing. Although I am not a very good representation of a Christian, I do tend to favor those who share my beliefs. In the case of Huckabee, that is most certainly not the case. In the time when certain segments of society are displaying increased hostility towards religion, especially Christianity, I find it refreshing when a candidate has no problem stating or openly display their religious beliefs. To me, that speaks of character. However, when a candidate wraps themselves in the cloth purely for political gain, that candidate is anathema to me. Huckabee did that very thing. He used religion as a political weapon to curry favor from social conservatives, and to attack fellow candidates. This has no place in political discourse. After seeing those few examples of how low a candidate will sink to achieve political office, my suspicions were pretty much confirmed. I do not think the man can be trusted. When his rinotastic gubernatorial record is coupled with his actions during the campaign, there is no possible way I could ever vote for such a person. As far as Beck goes, I like Beck. As I stated earlier, I think he does some good work. However, I also realize he is an entertainer as well, thus the ostentatious histrionics.

As I was perusing a couple of news sites today, I ran across this clip of Beck ripping into Huckabee. While I am not a rabid Beck fan, I do enjoy his radio show and think he is doing a fantastic job in bringing to light issues that our media should be exposing. I am thankful Beck said what he did so that people will wake up and see Huckabee for who he truly is. Beck says ‘thin-skinned’ Huckabee should stay on the sidelines | The Right Scoop I have never liked Huckabee. I saw right through his crap during the first presidential debate. Even though I am in agreement with Huckabee on several issues, I would never vote for him. In the category of loathsome politician, I rank him as equal with Obama, Pelosi, and Reid.

While I would never consider buying one, I think it is pretty cool. It certainly doesn't stoop to the level of stupid inventions such as hair in a can. .

I agree, our country will suffer irreparable damage if that occurs. However, I don't think we will have a civil war on our hands. Society has changed so much that they don't have the stomach for such an action. What I often think about is what would happen if we regained control of both houses and the White House with a bunch of conservatives and libertarians and started making meaningful cuts. I would not be surprised if the union thugs, statists, and those within society who are glued to the government teat took civil disobedience up several notches. I am quite sure they wouldn't have any problem flying in a bunch of anarchists, like we saw in Europe, to join their cause.

Did y'all see this video made by FreedomWorks (http://www.freedomworks.org/) on Atlas Shrugged? It is their version of the Atlas Shrugged trailer. Pretty good. One of the things that I find interesting about books like Atlas Shrugged and 1984 is that they seem more relevant today than when they were initially written.

Yes, it is a step in the right direction, but way more is still needed. Does it stand a chance at passing? Absolutely not, it is DOA in the senate. Once they get all the compromising and negotiating finished, it probably won't be worth a .

Since only one decided to venture a guess, I will end it here. Not one person out of 50 or so where I work knew what I was talking about. The age ranges are from 60 - 32. It doesn't really surprise me. If I were to hazard a guess, I would say that less than 5% of the population would know what I was referring to. However, I would bet the majority could tell me the last 5 winners on American Idol or some similiar TV show.

Congrats. Must be nice having a wife with good taste.

Got a question for all you Randites. Earlier this week I noticed the movie was going to open on Friday. Just out of curiousity, I conducted a little poll at work. I went around and asked everyone if they would know what I was talking about if I asked them the question, "Who is John Galt?" What percentage do you think knew what I was refering to?

Well... I just got it detail stripped and did a polish job, so it is ready for the range tomorrow. I will probably put some straight eights on it next week. Has anyone tried those Pearce grip extensions that replace the baseplate on the mag? Any comments? What is the world coming to where a 1911 enthusiast is buying lowly Glocks?

It is playing at the Rave. I am contemplating on going to see it tomorrow.

I have been shopping for a couple of guns lately. The first gun I was looking for was a reliable and inexpensive subcompact. While trying to decide which gun I wanted, I ran across a STI Total Eclipse, a subcompact 2011. This was definitely the gun for me. A high capacity lightweight 9mm, it was everything I was looking for. However, while I really wanted it, I couldn't justify purchasing another high end piece. It was just too expensive. I could go on and on about what I was looking at and why. To make a long story short, I went to Shooters Depot today and picked up a Gen 4 Glock 26. As stated in the title, it is nothing unique or fancy. This is my second Glock, and if it does as well as my first, then I will be completely satisfied. In regards to Shooters Depot, it is always a pleasure to deal with Chris and the guys. While I get along and like some of our other dealers in the area, Shooters has always done right by me. Therefore, they are always the first on my list to get my business. They also had a used Gen 3 26. It was very nice and had a good price on it considering it looked brand new, but I prefered the more aggressive texture and larger controls on the Gen 4. Does anyone know if Glock did any extra work in regards to the trigger on the Gen 4s? Surprisingly, the trigger is quite good I also ordered a S&W Model 41. I should have that sometime next week.

As I was finishing up my taxes this evening, I was thinking more and more about lameness of this deal. It reached a tipping point when I started to write out checks to the federal treasury and Georgia treasury (I work in GA) departments. Normally I wouldn't be so upset about paying since I have to pay every year, but this evening felt like rubbing salt into an open wound.

Well, I take back some of what I said regarding this deal. Even though I didn't like it, I could have lived with a $38 billion cut, but this is nothing but a sandwich. I still believe that it is impossible to make any meaningful cuts at this point, but $352 million is just pathetic. The only thing we can do at this point is just endure more pain until 2012 and hopefully the Tea Party and those who share their views will vote more of the jackasses out of office.

Oh, I know it is me. I have set the grip of my gun on the counter and took a few shots and no shots were slightly left. As far as the shots slightly low, I think that is nothing more than fatigue. Here is a different target using the same gun. I am not quite as left, and definitely not as low as the first target. As far as this being an issue on all of my guns, it is from time to time. The only thing I know to do is keep shooting and try to diagnose the problem. It is just very frustrating.

Thanks for the response guys. Yes, I was thinking about this last night and this morning. Initially my groups are very tight through the first 100 rounds. Once I start working through that second box, I notice the hole starts to increase and my shots are a little lower. I will continue to use this exercise because it was great for developing my ability to shoot with both eyes open. However, I think I will just limit it to 100 rounds. I don't think I will have any problem putting them all within the x-ring outside of the occasional flyer. As far as this left thing goes, I am not sure what I am going to do. I am pretty sure it is being caused by improper trigger squeeze. I will continue to experiment to see if I can pinpoint the problem and correct it. Ya know, the weird thing is during some range sessions I do not see the problem. While it may seem that being 0.5 - 1.0" off center really isn't a problem, it is. If I am working on certain self defense exercises, the shooting slightly left is exacerbated. For example, if I am shooting very fast and doing rapid transitions from the body to the head it is possible for me to miss the head shot from time to time. As far as upgrading my gun, I already have a pseudo-match trigger (Volquartsen) on my Ruger. It is very light, but it still isn't a 1911 trigger. Perhaps since Shooters Depot is becoming a S&W dealer, I may be able to get them to give me a good deal on a S&W Model 41. Ever shot one? Are they as good as the price tag?

Hey folks, After taking off almost two months from shooting, I decided to start going back to the range last week. This evening I was working on one my slow to moderate fire accuracy exercises, which I do about once a week or two weeks. I really set this exercise up to improve my repeatability and to learn to shoot with both eyes open. In this exercise I am shooting 200 rounds through my Ruger Mark III. My goal is to keep all shots within the x-ring and 10-ring. The target is positioned at the 15 yard mark at Shooter's Depot indoor range. The ammo I am using is CCI MiniMags. While not my best, here is what I did tonight. I have a couple of questions about it. As you can see, I had 6 misses, which brings me to my first question. I know CCI Minimags are mid-range 22lr ammo. The grouping minus the flyers is around 2.5 - 2.75". Could I expect a much tighter pattern with a higher grade of ammo? The reason I ask is I notice every now and then that I shoot a round that seems to have more or less of a kick to it. Second question. I posted a thread several months ago complaining of shooting slightly left. You will notice the above grouping is slightly off-center. Neither me nor my instructor have been able to figure this one out. Either it is an aiming problem or I am pushing my gun slightly when I am squeezing the trigger. Any suggestions outside of aiming further right or posting the infamous shooting wheel of misfortune? Last question. Am I just being too anal about all of this, and it is good enough that I should just move on to somethig else? While I know it doesn't prove anything and there is no self defense correlation, my goal was to be able to put all 200 rounds through the x-ring only, which I have yet to accomplish (one of the reasons I asked about the ammo). Thanks.

I'm going to cover my head and wince after I ask this...

I tried, but I couldn't resist. You do realize they make double stack 1911s? My EDC 2011 holds 17 rds of 9mm. Also, there are double stack subcompact 1911s with a polymer grip and aluminum frame weighing just 23 oz. In regards to democrats, I don't really have a problem with them as long as they are not in control of the government.
