Good one. I always forget about them because I never get to go in there. They are closed on the weekends.

    Good cop

Okay, thanks. That explains a lot.

    Good cop

I hadn't seen that video as well. I thought the police officer was pretty cool. I have a couple of questions. I must have missed it, but why was the guy stopped? Second question, why would someone carry an unloaded gun with no magazine?

    Chattanooga

On my way to Chattanooga, I would stop by Outpost Armory and Hero Gear. Once you get to Chattanooga, there aren't many gun shops. The best shop is our newest, Shooter's Depot, which is off of Hwy 153. Carl at Sportsman Supply has some great shotguns for sell. Unfortunately, most of them aren't displayed. Sportsman Warehouse has a big selection of firearms. They are also off of 153.
  5. It is basically government protecting government. I would be interested in seeing the actual numbers in which the government says that it will be saving money. I seriously doubt this is the case. USA Today, which is hardly a right-wing publication, did a comparative study last year which showed that federal employees make roughly double (counting benefits) in comparison to its private sector counterparts.
  6. As far as the Batman franchise goes, the first movie was good, and the last two were good. All of the rest were crap. Even though most people did not like him, I thought Timothy Dalton was a fantastic Bond. He brought a darker and more serious side to the Bond character (more inline to Fleming's Bond) which was refreshing after the long stint of Moore's comedic Bond. I would rank the Bond characters as follows: Timothy Dalton Daniel Craig, Sean Connery (tie) Roger Moore, Pierce Bronsan (tie) George Lazenby.
  7. Nice shooting. Looks like you had only one really anticipated shot, but it still would be an effective hit. As a side note, I have never figured out why some get nervous about how they are going to shoot when getting their HCP, nor have I figured out where the competition comes from. I have read several threads in which people talk about practicing to get their permit. Practicing for what? I found that the test is very difficult to fail. When I took the class to get my permit, I had never shot a handgun in my life, and I received a perfect score. If I can do it, anyone can.
  8. I will probably get one of the 0561s when they come out. If it is anything in quality like my 0300, I will be pleased
  9. Chattanooga to Daytona = 500 miles Orlando to Daytona = 50 miles = near to the beach
  10. I have started seeing the ZT 0551, non-flipper, out on the market. I am amazed that people are spending so much extra money when they can wait a few months and pay a little cheaper.
  11. I'm glad I wasn't the only one that picked up on the LGBT unit of the police department. That is a shame. I am in agreement with others that hate crimes legislation is detestable. Crime is crime. No special rights, protections, or treatment to certain segments of society. Just out of curiosity, does anybody know of an anyone that has been convicted of a hate crime against a middle class heterosexual white guy?
  12. I ran across this ad earlier today that I thought was really funny. If you are feeling down and are worried about anything and everything, just say to hell with it and get some Spenditol.
  13. That was fantastic. "Yes ma'am I do, highest honors." It is amazing how many press secretaries this president has.
  14. Congratulations, and good luck with your new job. It will be nice to be so close to the beach.
  15. All you guys that work at home, are all of you computer/IT industry?

    Bad Joke...

    You guys are so mean.
  17. The last time I shot it (over a month ago), I noticed I was shooting high. I never shoot high. If anything, I may shoot low and slightly left. I haven't shot it since that last range session. I need to shoot it again to see if that was just an off day, or if I need to adjust something with my grip. I am back to carrying my Nighthawk T3, so I don't know when I will break it back out on the range.
  18. Wilson. I have had two Kimbers, and while they were very nice 1911s (I enjoyed both of them), they aren't in the same league as some of the custom/semi-custom manufacturers. To be fair, they aren't in the same league in price either. You can get a fantastic Kimber or SA 1911 for $1100 - 1400 (used ones even less). The bottom end Wilson, Nighthawk, Ed Brown etc... is going to cost you over $2k. Are they worth the extra price? That depends on who you ask, and I wouldn't recommend asking it. The bottom line is whatever you buy, enjoy it, and shoot the heck out of it. I wouldn't worry so much about what is best. What is best varies from individual to individual. I don't think you could go wrong with a Kimber or SA. I also have heard some good talk on the new Ruger 1911, and one of the TGO members just bought one of the new Remington 1911s. The best recommendation I could give you is just a reiteration of my first post, get some good mags. I know some of the mags people prefer are Wilson, Chip McCormick, and Tripps Research.
  19. That might be one miracle the Vatican has overlooked.
  20. While I won't advise you on what 1911 to get, I will say that you should get some quality mags to go along with whatever you decide. Quality mags can make a world of difference on 1911s.
  21. I read that book as well. I thought his argument to the anti-gun crowd was great. He showed statistically that more kids have been killed in swimming pools in comparison to number killed by playing around with their parent's firearms, yet nobody is out screaming that swimming pools should be banned. I also liked his argument on minimum wage vs. drug dealing.
  22. Since I couldn't make it to the movies this weekend, I watched a streamed Telesync copy last night. The movie is pretty good, but still falls way short of the book. Regardless, I will more than likely go see it at the theaters next weekend. It might be a little less crowded. Has anyone seen it in 3D? If so, was it worth it?
  23. I don't know if I would take anything from this guy. I don't think he knows what he is doing. You will enjoy his classes and learn something in the process as well.
  24. I enjoy his videos. I actually watched the 30 min clip on Glock and 1911s today. Man, would I love to be able to shoot like that.

    New Sig

While I am not a fan of DA/SA, it is very nice. Congrats. What kind of mags are those? Never seen them before.
