Once they are created, a raygun.

Just where do you get off suggesting people take a common sensed approach of living within their means? Are you some sort of kook?
-
Yes, market versus command economies.

Wow, two years? Now I know why you hardly ever see any for sale. When I ordered mine in Sept 2010, I was told 8-15 months. I was hoping on it being early, so I went ahead and placed the order. I spoke to my dealer today and asked him to give them a call on Monday and find out what the status is. If they say another year, I will cancel my order and buy something else. While I don't need another high-end 1911, I have been looking at a Wilson Spec-Ops 9 for quite some time. I love my Nighthawk Talon FLX, which is built on an STI 2011 frame, and I would love to try out the Spec-Ops 9.

I enjoy both of my Nighthawks. My T3 tends to be my predominant carry gun. My Talon FLX in 9mm is my favorite 1911/2011. I look foward to seeing how the SA Professional holds up. Steve, have you got your Pro yet? It has been 13 months, and mine still hasn't come in.

Just out of curiosity, I wonder what a lot of our soldiers think about it. I have been sort of hesitant to comment on how I feel about what we have gained from the last 9 years in Iraq. During the Bush presidency, as you all know, there was definitely generous use of you are with us or against us national patriotism. Now, people are talking about Iraq as having been an abject failure yielding us nothing in terms of increasing national security and establishing a democratic ally in the middle east. While I agree with this sentiment, it breaks my heart to say it. I couldn't imagine telling our soldiers that they did a great job and we are proud of them, but in the end their efforts were futile and will not last. The whole situation just ticks me off. Even though I have serious doubts, hopefully, we can learn from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars that we need to stay out of the nation building business. The costs in both treasure and more importantly, american lives, just isn't worth it.

I wonder if this is going to allow the Mexican fleet to do backhauls after they drop off their goods. Anybody know? It seems like that would really hit the domestic trucking industry hard.

Even though this is mostly political, there is now something Obama has done, or is going to do, that I actually agree with. Who woulda thunk it?

I have often wondered why they chose TN as the first state. Perhaps they have been on TGO for a while reading posts of all these right-wing radical, gun owners, anti-government types, and former military personal. According to DHS, it is these type of people that represent the number one threat to national security.

I didn't know they were selling for that much. I could have bought one a couple of months ago for $170. I thought it was too high, so I didn't get it.
-
Yeah, they are hard to find. I also had to pay a little more ($122.00) for it as well. I believe the KW and the CB, which is the composite blade, were limited runs. Wills68 or Major Kong should be able to confirm this. I ran across a CB a few months agao, but the guy was asking too much money for it.

I guess I am jumping into the vat of ZT 0350 koolaid. I ran across a ZT 0350kw. This is the satin finish version of the 0350. I don't see them often, so I figured I will pick one up. I will post some pics when I get it.

While USMCJG can speak for himself, I don't think he was inferring that those within the 47% do not have dignity, pride, or a good work ethic. I would say that many within that 47% are quite the opposite. They way I would understand it is there are those within the 47% who protest to the government to take even more from those that currently make up the 53%. They need to pay their fair share (whatever that is). I find this appalling. At what percentage of those paying federal income tax versus those who do not does the John Galt moment come when people say, "F*** it. It just isn't worth it."?

I was just watching a minutes of Hannity's program before going to the gym. He had on Frank Luntz's focus group thing, and they were talking about Herman Cain and his 999 plan. What I was hearing made me want to jump through my tv and shake all these people by the collar and scream at them to wake up. As stated in other threads, I have my reservations on the 999 plan, but it is irrelevant to the point I want to make. Yes, the current tax code sucks and it does need to be changed. That is without question. However, there is an even more pressing matter than the way the government collects taxes, and what type of taxes they collect. Federal spending. Every candidate talks about repealing Obamacare, Dodd/Frank, and Sarbanes/Oxley, and all of those are of paramount importance, but they are not going to be enough. What I would like to hear as the primary focus of all the candidates is their Cut-Cut-Cut plan.

Well... The first thing I would do after I found out I won $50,000,000 is change my underwear. After that, who knows.

Perhaps, I look at success too simply, because what I view as being a success is nothing more than setting any goal(s) for yourself and achieving it.

I gutted my Glock 34 and it replaced with it a Vanek Grandmaster Trigger kit. It was an unbelievable improvement, although it was too light (for my taste) for carry purposes. Unfortunately, I just couldn't overcome the ergonomics of the Glock, so I traded it away.

Interesting Observation About Cain's Meet the Press Interview

Based on the most recent debate I need to revise my list. Santorum - No. Man, I really like Cain, and he would defintely be one my yes list, but I just can't get past the 9-9-9. -

It's amazing how much enthusiasm there is for Cain. It's too bad not many are as enthusiastic about Paul's plan, which really tackles the primary problem, federal spending. I read even Rush gave a shout out on Paul's plan. What do hear in the media and elsewhere? Total silence. -
OWS protestors Oakland CA Amazingly Ignorant

There is one major difference between the Tea Party and the OWS. The Occupy Wall Street has lasted around a month, whereas most of the Tea Party rallies lasted at most a day. Why? The Tea Party folks had to go back to work to pay their bills and continue financing the government with their taxes. -

I have that same stance regarding the primary. However, if Romney wins the nomination, I will vote for him regardless of how I feel about him. Come the general "presidential" election, I will disregard my principles and vote for whoever has a R behind their name. -
They all make about as much sense as Obama when he is off the teleprompter.

Although I think Beck tends go off the deep end from time to time, I agree with him that this type of crap is only the begining. I think my last signature line sums it up nicely. -

I understand all of that completely. Yes, the 9-9-9 plan as it is being sold, would be better than the progressive tax system we currently have. However, there is a distinct possibility that it could become worse, much worse if parts of it morphed into a VAT, than our current system. That is what scares me. We have to remember that there were some Bush policies (the Patriot Act could be an example) and "executive privileges and orders" enacted that while under Bush's watch we really didn't have anything to worry about. However, his administration opened the door and look who we have now and what he has done. Basically what I am saying is that while intentions may be good and sincere, if ideas are not heavily scrutinized, they can come back to bite you in the ass. If people want the Fair Tax, I'm game, give me the Fair Tax (assuming repealing of the 16th). However, I do not want a hybrid that opens new avenues for the government to tax us. -

I guess I am one of the very few people on the forum that abhor's Cain's 9-9-9 plan. I used to like Cain, but once he started this 9-9-9 crap he moved down to the Romney area, which is at the bottom, for me. His 9-9-9 plan absolutely scares the crap out of me. First off, I question the constitutionality of the federal government implementing a national sales tax. My second problem with 9-9-9 is the existence of a national sales tax in addition to an income tax. Yes, yes, I know this is only the first stage of his ultimate goal of implementing the Fair Tax, there is no need to post it. I have no problem with the Fair Tax, but there is no guarantee that the 9-9-9 will ever lead to it. The correct implmentation of the Fair Tax will require a constitutional ammendment repealing the 16th. That is no easy feat (nor should it be). Even the Fair Tax Act proposed by congress had a clause in the legislation stating that if the 16th was not repealed within 7 years that the implemented Fair Tax will revert back to the progressive style system we currently have. I haven't heard that from 9-9-9. We could get stuck with a 15-15-15 a few years from now. I love how Cain talks about the simplicity of the 9-9-9 plan. I don't think it is simple, and I think Bachmann was correct when she said that it should be called the 6-6-6 plan (the devil is in the details). In my mind simplicity is, doing away with the death tax, dividend double taxation, capital gains tax, etc..., and establishing a 15% flat income tax for everybody. There are no deductions, you just shut your mouth and pay the 15%. Everybody has skin in the game and they are treated equally. Back on the 9-9-9 national sales tax, what scares me the most is the possibility of the national sales tax morphing into a VAT tax, which is really bad. I know politicians, especially on the left side of the aisle, would love nothing more than to implement a VAT tax. I know a lot of you guys are Cainiacs. Don't get me wrong he would be way better than Obama and in a lot of cases, better than Romney. I will vote for Cain if he gets the nomination. That said, his plan still scares the crap out of me, therefore, there is no way I could possibly vote for him in the primary. My absolute "No" (primary voting only) list keeps on growing. Romney - No, bad all around, especially on healthcare (waivers aren't the same as repeal Gov. Romney) Perry - No, terrible on immigration (what can I say, I'm heartless) Gingrich - No, very smart, but he is a global warming believer, a cap and taxer, too beltway Cain - No, 9-9-9 and stance on the fed Hunstman - No, bad all around, except he is decent on foreign policy. Paul - definitely Santorum - although he ticks me off immensely when he mischaracterizes Paul's foreign policy, he would still be a maybe Bachmann - maybe
