  1. Here is something neat. This is one of the first pair of Ray-Bans I bought almost two decades ago. I never really wore them because it made me look like a cop or that biker dude from The Village People. I laugh that they are now considered vintage. This is a pair of 58mm B&L Outdoorsman with the Diamond Hard lenses. [/url] Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  2. I have several pairs of Ray Bans. My favorite and the pair I wear the most are: Ray-Ban RB3183 Sunglasses | Official Ray-Ban Store

    Bad news

Sorry to hear about that. You have my sympathy.
  4. Good article, thanks for the post. One of the things I have been trying to tell people jumping on the Newt bandwagon for political strategy (i.e. he is the most electable candidate) is that he will have a difficult time defeating Obama. Personally, I believe it will be harder to defeat Obama with Newt as the candidate versus some of the other candidates.
  5. I just got through sending Dave an email to add me to the list.
  6. Damn, I just saw that on blade forums. The Marifone Prototype looks just like the 777. That is sort of s****y. I think I will preorder a ZT 0777 in protest if it is not too late.
  7. I have often wondered how good is the INFI steel. Any comments? I wouldn't mind getting a BATAC. It is on my list.
  8. I have a question to the knife collectors. Do you have any knives that you will not carry (outside of autos and > 4"), or will you carry anything you own? I will carry any of my knives except my Kathathu. That will not get carried ever, especially since someone just sold their's without a certificate or box for almost $900. It has become too much of a collector's item. Ya know, when I first started getting into knives I thought Microtechs were just the coolest thing. Now, I don't really care for them. They are nice, and I am not saying I won't buy anymore in the future, but they seem sort of gimmicky.
  9. Yes, they are very expensive. However, you get a knife that will last longer than you. Additionally, if you take care of it (meaning doing nothing dumb), you will have no problem selling it and getting back a lot of your money.
  10. That sucks to hear about the Yuna knife. The Assassin blade was just plain badass. I almost bought another Sebe this evening. I had it in the shopping cart, but I finally got control of myself. I have bought too many knives this last month, but that carbon fiber Sebe kept calling me. Thankfully I was able to vanquish the demons. That is one of the most elegant Sebes I have seen. You definitely have to post some pics on that one.
  11. Busse Battle Mistress or one of the larger CR one-piece knives.
  12. That is incredibly nice. I really like that.
  13. I finally managed to pick up one of the earlier 0551s. I received it this evening, and it is an incredibly nice knife. The thing is built like a tank and it is the sharpest out of the box ZT I own. If the 0561 flippers are anything like these, they are going to be really sweet. The only thing I do not like about this knife is the scale. It does nothing for me. I ordered a replacement orange scale. For those that don't know what they look like (I'm sure Steve and Fred have one), here you go. Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us If you are contemplating getting one (have to find a used one now) I would wait until the ZT 0561 comes out. Oh, by the way, I finally found my Shadow III as referenced in post #3.
  14. Geeze, I feel like a whiner for complaining about too many knives in comparison to what you guys have. I only have about 20 - 25 knives. They are all very nice, but nowhere near as numerous as you guys.
  15. You have too many knives. As I was cleaning some knives this evening, I was like, "Sheesh. You have too many knives."
  16. Here is a different spin on things. Some of the people on the forum (and around the country) are trying to imploy strategy in the primary process as to nominate a candidate that might "possibly" be the better candidate to beat Obama instead of voting for who they like or who they think is better for the country. Right now, Gingrich and Romney are claiming that spot. Here is something to think about. Newt has done many things to tick off conservatives, and in some cases the damage is irreparable (i.e. some conservatives will not vote for him). Newt is also loathed by the left and is often seen by moderates as too polarizing. Therefore, if Newt wins the nomination, he will have to have all Republicans and conservatives vote for him in the general because I seriously doubt he will get many moderates and certainly no liberals to vote for him. If any Republicans or conservatives get the red ass against Newt as they did McCain, then Obama is guaranteed a victory irregardless on how bad Newt beats him in the debates. You have almost the same situation for Romney, except he can appeal to moderates, but is hated more by conservatives. Romney could gain some votes by bringing over moderates and liberals, but he will lose some conservatives who will not vote for him. Even though I didn't care for him nor thought he was all that conservative, Cain would have been a better candidate to go against Obama when compared to Newt or Romney. It is a moot point since Cain is no longer a factor. I only bring up these points to illustrate to those who are trying to strategize in the primary process on who is the more electable candidate instead of who is the best candiate (or the one the like the best), they may well end up giving Obama a second term. I believe Newt or Romney will have a harder time defeating Obama than some of the other candidates.
  17. Just for curiousity's sake, I have created a primary poll as to which Republican candidate you are planning to vote for on Super Tuesday March 6, 2012. Since this forum is in no way affiliated with any political party, I feel it necessary to create an option to allow all to participate. I have created a box for Democrat voters that are planning to vote for Obama or some other Democrat candidate. Please check the "I'm a Democrat" box if this applies to you. So here is your chance to let your voice(vote) be heard(read). All votes will be confidential, but if you would like to comment on who you plan on voting for and why, feel free. Remember, no personal attacks, so if you cannot handle yourself as an adult, please do not participate. Now, for those of you who want to show off your political acumen by stating that such and such candidate won't be around Super Tuesday, please refrain. This poll is for entertainment purposes only. Since Herman Cain has suspended his campaign, he will not be listed on this poll. However, if you plan on voting for him anyway, you can check the "None of the above" box. Thanks for participating.
  18. Well said Lester. I have often said that the vast majority of people in this country are quasi-socialists in denial.
  19. Quite a while. However, look at his voting record. He did not get the moniker "Dr. No" for just anything. There are several Republicans, although not many, that I would not consider to be the same old.
  20. Nice one. Congrats.
  21. I am pretty slow. It took me a few moments to get it.
  22. I disagree with your assessment that everyone is just the same old. You may not like him, but Paul is nothing like the same old. It is too bad that more congressmen and senators aren't like him. As for all of the rest of them, I would agree with your comment.
  23. From what I seen they are pretty neat, but not extremely valuable. You will run across quite a few of these on ebay. Typically the bayonet and matching #s scabbard sells a little less than $150.
  24. The only way I could see Paul as a spoiler if he runs third party in the general, which he has stated he will not do. As I have talked in other posts, we need to focus on the primaries, which haven't even started, instead of jumping right to the general accepting who the establishment and the media have deemed as the Republican nominee. I only bring up the previous point because there are many on this forum who like Paul and believe he has the best ideas, but they have already conceded by stating he can't win the nomination and we haven't had the first vote in the primaries.
  25. I am not really worried about the UN small arms treaty. It will take 2/3 of the senate to ratify it, and I don't see that happening. In regards to some of the other posts, yes Ron Paul is unelectable only because those who state such have chosen to accept it. Folks, we haven't even come to the first primary, and yet there are some who talk like everything has already been decided. The purpose of the primary is to vote for who you think is the best candidate not who is the most electable. If you keep accepting the later and compromising your principles, then we will never have a candidate worth a damn running in the general election. I have made it quite clear in numerous posts that I will be voting for Paul in the primary. Now, if Paul does not get the nomination, I will disregard my principles and hold my nose while voting for whoever the p.o.s. Republican candidate is. However, until Paul either wins the nomination or drops his candidacy, I will continue to support him and advocate his positions to my friends, family, and co-workers. I have a question to those of you who really like Paul but do not think he can win the nomination. If you think it has already been decided that either Mitt or Newt will win the nomination, how would it hurt if you voted for Paul in the primary, assuming you like his positions best? Answer. It wouldn't, so why not vote for him? If we are to ever regain control of this country and turn it in the right direction, we have to basically tell the media and the political class to drink a nice tall glass of STFU. They are no longer going to decide who our candidates should be.
