Opinions vary. I don't know if anyone knows this, but Kerhsaw is coming out with a cheaper Hinderer collab similar to the 550/551/560/561 that will have a MSRP of $50. http://www.kershawknives.com/productdetails.php?id=761&brand=kershaw

I am begining to believe that none of the politicians want to do anything about it. Obama and the dems won't do anything about it because they are in bed with enviro-kooks. Republicans don't really seem all that serious about doing anything. If the problem was solved, Republicans could no longer use the issue of high gas prices, foreign oil, etc... as a campaign platform to attack the other side. I have gotten to the point that I honestly believe that we are being screwed from both sides of the aisle.

I'm a little bit weird. When I am approached to buy Girl Scout cookies, I will just give them some money and tell them to give the cookies to someone else. Being a semi-fitness freak, there is no way I would eat them.

Anybody going to Gunshow today in chattanooga
mav replied to plank white's topic in Events and Gatherings
I went to the show today. I didn't find anything I wanted or needed. I don't know why I keep going to these shows because the chance of me finding something I want is very slim. -
Dammit, my wireless keyboard ain't keeping up with my fingers. Three times a charm, S35VN. Here is a description of the steel. http://www.crucible.com/PDFs%5CDataSheets2010%5CdsS35VNrev12010.pdf

Yes, it can be flipped. I had a typo on the steel. Try S35VN.

Thanks man. As far as cost goes, they are pretty expensive especially if you pimp it out a little. You can run a search on ebay and get an idea on what they are selling for. I got mine from a guy up in Canada.

I got a new folder a few weeks ago. This is becoming my favorite knife to carry. It is a knife so well built and robust that it would survive a trip through hell and back. The pivot isn't qute as fast as the Kershaw spring assist, but it is very fast and locks up extremely tight. This is my HInderer XM-24. Specs: Blade length: 4" Overall length: 9.125" Blade thickness: 0.185" Weight: 7.8 oz. Blade material: S35VN Frame material: 6AL4V titanium Currently I have a textured carbon fiber scale on this one. As soon as they become available again, I will get an anodized bronzed titanium scale so I will end up with a full titanium powerhouse. Here are some pics of my new knife.

I have owned a Five Seven for several years. It is a great handgun. It is very light even when fully loaded with 20 rds, and the disassembly is a piece of cake. The trigger is pretty good, the recoil is very low, and the accuracy isn't bad. The only downside I have seen on the Five Seven is the ammo cost. If you plan on shooting it a lot, it can get pretty expensive.

I used to let situations such as these really upset me. Now, I couldn't care less. Why? As long as there are politicians willing to exploit our differences, whether it be race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic, etc..., to strengthen their influence or power, it will never end. Therefore, I refuse to allow a segment of society, who is so shallow that they would vote for an individual solely based upon their skin tone or any of the aforementioned examples, to upset me. Getting worked up over an issue that I have absolutely no control in changing just isn't worth it.

Possibly. I know one of the other members floated that theory several months ago. While I could be wrong, I don't see it happening. Romney, assuming he wins, is going to have a hard enough time defeating Obama. Having Christie on the ballot doesn't really help him all that much, and I believe it would actually hurt him in the south.

Well, we are one month away from being able to voice our opinion in the voting booth. Just out of curiousity, has anyone decided to change their vote? A couple of candidates have dropped out since I created this poll, and there has been a bunch of incendiary rhetoric spewed about since the initial primary. Any comments, or you just want to get it all over and done with? To answer my own question, my position has not changed in regards to who I will be voting for in the primary. However, my opinion of several of the candidates have changed quite a bit (mostly towards the negative) during this short primary cycle.

I just checked my stinkin' Crackberry and the forum performs a million times better than the previous software. It could be that I am computer illiterate, but it appears to be much better. So, for what it is worth, thanks. -

Why are we having to sign in to say we made it? I know I'm a little slow, but has something changed? -
Ah, the plastic urinal. This brings two bad experiences to mind. Both the experiences involve my time as a volunteer for Erlanger hospital. After I graduated from college, I decided to do some volunteer work as sort of a serve your local community type endeavor. I volunteered on Friday and Saturday evening in the ER at Erlanger hospital. It was quite an experience. It was very slow in the ER one Friday evening, and I was just sitting around the nurse's station shooting the breeze when I heard this loud voice scream out some gibberish. This patient would let out a yell about every 5 minutes or so. I asked one of the nurses what the guy's problem was. They explained to me that he was dropped off by a nursing home and he had been there all day, and he also didn't have any teeth, hence the gibberish. Since I was bored, I actually tried to deciper the gibberish. After a few more yells, I was able to determine that the guy was screaming he had to go pee. I told the nurse what I was able to decipher and he asked me to go ask the patient if he needed to go pee. I found room the man was in, and asked him if he needed to go pee. "Yessa, yessa." Feeling sort of proud of myself that I took the time to try and figure out what he was constantly yelling about, I went off to tell the nurse that I was correct in my discovery. I thought I was going to have to escort the man to the bathroom, but instead I was given a plastic urinal and told to give it to the man so he could relieve himself. I made my way back to the man's room and told him to use this urinal. While shaking his head, he kept saying, "Un-uh, un-uh." Being somewhat confused, I then tried to instruct the man how to use the urinal. "Un-uh, un-uh." As the man was laying on the bed, he proceeded to lift his gown and started pissing on himself. Without any thought, my immediate reaction was to grab that little thing and place it in the urinal. I successfully grabbed the man and allowed him to relieve himself, all this without gloves, mind you. My earlier feeling of accomplishment went away rather quickly as I was holding this man's pecker, hands and cuffs covered in piss, so he could relieve himself. I will tell y'all about the other plastic urinal experience another time.

While I really wouldn't consider them rock, I would have to say pre-Load Metallica is by far my favorite. My second choice would between Ozzy and Pink Floyd. I'm surprised nobody meantioned Abba, I am quite certain there are some Dancing Queen(s) present on this forum. I guess you disco fans must be in the closet.

Mostly cereal M-F. On the weekend it was either McDonald's pancakes or Burger King's sausage biscuit. Now, I have the most boring diet. Breakfast is always Frosted Mini Wheats with no milk (I haven't drunk any milk in almost 13 years) and 20 oz. of OJ.

I thought that was the purpose of the missile defense systems like Aegis BMDS that we have continued to work on.

I'm glad you mentioned that. I used to own Neverwinter Nights & II. I keep meaning to get on ebay and pick up another copy. I don't mean to be a thread crapper, but I never saw anyone mention in times past. Did any of you guys ever get to play The Witcher II? It was fantastic. It is very mature, so you can't let your kids play it.
-
I haven't played any of the other Diablo games, so I don't know if I will get this one. I will more than likely wait until it is out and see what the reviews are like. The game I am looking for comes out next month, Mass Effect III.

All of their degree programs have full accreditation. -
Thanks, but that totally doesn't answer my question. That is a good point I didn't think of. I had a picture in my mind of some guy walking down the mall wearing body armor.
-
Maybe this is a dumb question, but why would a civilian want to own body armor out side of the coolness aspect? All jokes aside, I can't think of a situation where I might want to or need to wear body armor. While there is nothing wrong with it, I just don't see the practicality to it.

Stone's beef with Obama would come from his foreign policy. In regards to the other two, yes, they have different motives than freedom or liberty. However, a lot of people that are independents and moderates and they are voting for Paul do understand those concepts. A lot of the younger people, myself included, realize that unless things change we are going to get the drop your pants and grab your ankles treatment in the future. We have hit a debt to GDP ratio of 100%, and our debt is increasing by a trillion a year. Who is going to pay for it? Is it going to be the baby boomers who are about to retire? No, of course not. It will be my generation and the generations after me that get stuck with the bill. Personally, I find it unconscionable that generations before me are going to leave their kids and grandkids in such a dire situation. I am working my butt off, saving, and trying to be responsible by living well below my means in the hope of having a better future. Unfortunately, the skies aren't looking any clearer. I am also paying a ton in taxes to perpetuate a failed system. I wouldn't gripe about my taxes if the government was at least attempting to control spending. Each year we hear these political bromides about how we have to get our fiscal house in order so we are not punishing our kids, but nothing is ever done; the behemoth keeps growing and our debt continually rises. We are well beyond the point of putting a stop to this fiscal insanity. Is Romney going to correct the course? Judging by his record, I would say no. What about Newt? Due to his erratic behavior and responses, who really knows what he will do. While Santorum shows flickers of hope, some of his go along to get along votes raises a lot of questions as to whether he will stay committed to promoting a limited government and controling spending. I will give him 50/50, and that is why I would rather see him over Romnay or Gingrich. Lastly, we have Paul. There has not been a greater and more outspoken champion of limited government and civil liberties than congressman Paul. Nobody, whether they like him or not, questions his devotion on those issues. He has been saying the same thing for almost 40 years. Due to his unwavering fiscal positions, I will be voting for him in the primary. Will he get a lot of what he wants done if he wins? No, but he will be able to do things like rescinding executive orders, shrink the executive branch immensely, and veto crap legislation that comes out of congress. Will the other candidates do those things? Probably not, and a maybe on Santorum. Are all of the candidates better than Obama, and will I vote for the GOP nominee? Of course they are, and I will reluctantly vote for the GOP nominee. However, I believe we are at a pivotal moment in this country when we have a chance, albeit a very small one, of electing someone who make actually bring about some positive growth in the right direction. I am not going to rely on some political calculus or strategy to determine my vote, which I have done in the past. This year, I am standing on principle in the primary. If by standing on those principles, I become aligned (through vote only) with Ronulans, anti-war pacifists, anarchists, racists, dope-heads, looney leftists, etc... so be it.

We have Pelosi saying how nice he is, Oliver Stone said he would vote for Paul over Obama, and now we have Snoop Dog endorsing Paul. Wow, isn't it amazing how liberty and freedom can attract people from all sides of the political spectrum? I'm still wondering where people are getting all of this unelectable crap. It seems that so many have gotten drunk on the right-wing media kool-aid. With so much at stake, it is rather unfortunate. I noticed today that Michelle Malkin, who I respect highly, has endorsed Santorum. In her endorsement, she lays out some of the pros and cons of Santorum, but also talks about why she didn't choose any of the other three candidates. It is a very good blog piece. Here is an excerpt from her blog. Michelle Malkin » For Santorum I think that is a fair critique of Paul's foreign policy views. I have said on numerous occasions that I wish Paul wouldn't get so damn animated and speak slower when explaining his foreign policy. If he would do that, people might rethink their criticism and come to realize that it is not as radical as it is portrayed. Rand and Ron share the same views on foreign policy, but Rand can articulate his position much better than his father. Anyway, his foreign policy really doesn't concern me. I am almost solely focused on domestic economic issues, and that is one area where Paul has no rivals. Even Malkin laments that Santorum isn't as rock solid as Paul. My position has always been that if we cannot get our domestic fiscal issues in order then our foreign policy really won't matter. How will we pay for all of the military spending when we are broke and nobody wants to lend us anymore money? Answer, we won't be able to.
