  1. Reconciliation is not required. Budgets only require 51 votes, not 60. Still, even if the Senate manages to go Republican, they will need an even greater majority to account for Republicans who become weak in the knees when it actually comes time for repeal. I am not optimistic about it. Hopefully I am wrong. It does happen from time to time If we get really lucky and Obamacare is repealed, the worry then becomes what will it be replaced with. You know the Republicans are going to do something. Remember all of the TARP crap? The first attempt was a crap sandwich, and a lot of the politicians complained about it. The second attempt which was given bipartisan support ended up being worse than the first.
  2. Well... this sort of makes all those people who have been saying that both parties are pretty much the same seem pretty smart. Unfortunately, I haven't been one of them. I guess it is all up to Romney now and the overturning of the Senate if there is any hope of repealing this horrid piece of legislation. I won't hold my breath on that one. So basically, we're screwed. Pitchforks anyone?

Seeing crap like this really ticks me off. Honestly, it makes me yearn for a time when a few concerned neighbors would have politely talked to this neighbor then proceeded to beat the ever luvin' s**t out of them. Problem solved, and I doubt he would be a repeat offender.
  4. Oh, I get it. The communists and other libtards can show a depiction of Romney's campaign bus expolding, but how dare someone put a bullseye on a political map. These people are really the scum of the earth.
  5. Paul is correct. It is not whether we have a financial day of reckoning, that is almost guaranteed. It is a matter of when.
  6. Of course politics and politicians suck. Just look at the root words. Poli(y) = many, Tic(k)s = blood sucking pests
  7. I watched part of Prez. Candyass giving his speech today, and I saw how he got upset with the reporter asking him questions. Just remember, you can expect much worse if Candyass gets in another four years. "We can't wait for Congress to do its job, so where they won't act, I will."
  8. I don't really know if there is a best. I think it is all a matter of personal preference. The sebenza and 0561 are really great knives (own them both), and they are definitely on my favorites list. The two folding knives I use the most and are probably my favorites due to the unbelievable durability and ruggedness are the XM-24 and ZT 0300. I know a lot of people don't like the 0300 due to the weight and size, but those are some of the reasons it is one of my favorites. I guess I am a little odd since I like big and heavy folding knives.
  9. Funny. I think what it does show is that ArmyVeteran is supporter of freedom and liberty more than just a supporter of any candidate. If it was anybody but Obama we are facing in November, I would probably be voting for Johnson too. I trust Johnson to keep his word a lot more than Romney. Since it is Obama, I came to the conclusion that there was just too much to risk by voting for a third party candidate. Obama has to be removed from office either by impeachment and conviction or by losing the election. Either works for me. As a side note on all of the RP and GJ threads, I am amazed at how many people whine about all of the threads posted. I think anyone who has been on the forum for a little while knows what type of thread AV is going to post, especially if it is in the political section. As long as he isn't violating TGO's rules, terms, and conditions, I say keep them coming. For those that don't like them, well... that is really tough s**t. Nobody forces anyone to click on the threads.
  10. Johnson would be a fantastic choice for president. I think on some fiscal issues he is much better than Paul. However, Johnson has major problem. He has absolutely zero name recognition. If you asked a thousand people just off the street who Gary Johnson was, I bet you might have 10 that know who he is and only one who knows what his positions are. If Paul ran third party, he would pull way more votes than Johnson just on name regonition alone. While I really like Johnson, and he is the type of person we need, there is no way he can win the election.
  11. I am still waiting on a rehash of "black churches are gonna burn" if Romney wins.
  12. That is another good reason I am glad I didn't go. I have one of those preordered.
  13. I will make it next year as well. I spent my new blade purchasing money Saturday on a new lawn mower and trimmer. While I would have liked a new blade, I needed some new lawn care equipment. I guess I will just have to wait on my 777 to hit production, whenever that is. By the way, nice purchases there Fred. I love that Battle Mistress. Is that XM-18 bead blasted?
  14. I saw it yesterday. Congrats to you and Fred on winning the lottery. A guy I work with won the lottery too. Good choice on the production model. I wouldn't want to use a fancy custom grind as my EDC.
  15. Not necessarily. He will have the power to rescind all of Obama's execuctive orders, even though he is unlikely to do so. I am reaching on this one, but Romney may be able to work with Reid since they are both Mormons. A sort of brothers in faith if you will. Still, any compromise reached will probably suck, but it will more than likely be better than anything from our most Omniscient Beneficent Altruistic Magnanimous Auspicious dear leader.
  16. Mike, you are correct. He did state that several times during his campaign. And yes, he is a patriot. To be honest with you, I am still glad he is still around even though he has no chance of winning. More and more people need to hear his message, especially the fiscal stuff. I would say the foreign policy as well, but I am certain that most here would disagree with me on that point.
  17. I am contemplating it. I would love to get in on a new Hinderer, but I am also hesitant about going because I know I will spend a ton of money if I do. Oh the agony.
  18. There has been a lot of hatred from the right towards Paul, albeit misdirected hatred. A lot on the right really hate the RP die-hard supporters, not necessarily Paul himself. However, they have taken their hatred of Ronulans and transferred it to the candidate (Levin would be an example).
  19. I was going to post this thread, but since it has already been created, I am more than happy to comment on it. Take that all you Paul(s) haters. Seriously, I knew Rand would support Romney. He is grounded in reality and understands that just because you lose a battle doesn't mean you pack up your s**t and go home. You stay in the war and keep fighting. I am pretty disgusted by a lot of the comments saying Rand is a sellout and such. What a pant load. Rand is still one of, if not the best senator we have. I have been a Paul supporter (and still am) throughout this entire election cycle, but I have to admit that there are some Paul supporters that are just bat s**t crazy.
  20. Serious question. Would the USPS would be able to keep those low prices if they were forced to turn a profit or at least break even? They lost over $3 billion in the first quarter. I wouldn't think so. Taxpayers are subsidizing those low prices, and they will have to pay even more when it comes time to bail out the USPS.
  21. My hope is that Romney is a little more conservative on foreign policy than our last two presidents. That is one of the reasons I do not like Rubio. His foreign policy views are not conservative. We shouldn't forget that foreign policy adventurism costs money we do not have. I like Rand Paul and Jim Demint, but neither of them are on the list.
  22. That is good news. I think one of the reasons the unions were so scared was giving the option of joining or not, most people won't. I think the huge drop in membership proves that. Good for them.
  23. Do they even teach world history in Kenya or Indonesia? Could explain a lot. Well... you can always blame the drugs.
  24. Capitalizing christian or christianity doesn't really matter. Yes, I know it is correct, but as mike pointed out this is a gun board, not a grammar board, and I was a math and sciences guy anyway. My point was we have freedom on this board to click on whatever we so choose. Whenever a topic is being discussed and religion, primarily Christianity, is brought into the conversation, is it always a good idea to opine on the matter? Yes yes, I know everybody has the right to their opinion, but is it necessary to always state it? Personally, I don't think so because nothing is gained. Neither party is ever convinced that the other is correct, and since a person's faith is strong personal matter, emotions tend to run very high. Should that mean that all religious discussion be disallowed? That is up to David, but I don't think it should. If someone wants to bring their faith into the discussion because it is their faith that probably helped formulate their opinion I don't think they should be ridiculed for it. I guess I am just a little different than most people in that I don't feel the need to always state my opinion on any particular matter, whether I agree with it or not. Most of the time when I read something I disagree with I usually just ignore it, but hey, everyone is free to respond any way they want to.
  25. I noticed that slap at Palin. What a jerk. Like her or not, she did a lot for grass roots conservatism, and she has taken a bunch of crap over the years too. In regards to VP, I don't really have a preference outside of not Christie. Whoever he picks, I will still be voting for Romney anyway because I really don't have much of a choice.
