While I liked Skyfall, I believe Casino Royale was Craig's best.

I didn't watch either Obama's or Rubio's speech. The reason I didn't watch Rubio's speech is I believe he is more of the same regardless of what he says. Just because he is hispanic, that in no way translates that he will get the hispanic vote. I did watch Rand's speech, and I thought it was excellent. (paraphrasing) If Congress won't pass a budget and do its job then wipe the place clean. Limit their terms and send them home. While this would never happen, the sentiment is correct. If you didn't see his speech, I would recommend watching it on Youtube or elsewhere.

Since Obama is speaking, wouldn't it be more appropriate to title this event the State of Confusion?

Congress Sends Letter to Obama Regarding Gun Control.

As a side note, some of our representatives have the absolute worst penmanship I have seen. -
I don't want to even think about Hillary, so I am not going to. As far as Rand goes, he is my guy. He has some of the same core beliefs as his father, but unlike his father, he has some good oratory skills which he can use to convey his message effectively and not come off as a loon at times. Do I think he will get the Republican nomination? Probably not, but there is always hope. +1 for Demint going to Heritage.

Hmmm. Maybe your reading comprehension is different than mine. I have read nothing in these posts that tried to portray you as a Tea Partier or Rovian, so I really have no idea what you are talking about. As far as Paul's ideas not being mainstream, whoever said they were? As far I am concerned, the "mainstream" line of thinking is the reason we are > $16T in debt (over > $120T in unfunded liabilities), and currently engaged in conflicts in over 70 different countries. All Libertarians are anarchists at heart? I guess that could be true if you were so strict with your definition of libertarianism that you rejected those who hold some views that differ with libertarianism, but yet still classified themselves to be Libertarians. I personally know of no one who rigidly holds to all of the tenets of libertarianism, and that includes Ron Paul.
-
Why respond? I view the purpose of this thread as nothing more than taking a cheap shot at Paul supporters. Okay, Paul said something that was very insensitive, and in my opinion, dumb. Do I agree with him? Absolutely not. However, I still support, not so much the man, but his ideas. I still stand on the belief that Paul's ideas for fixing the mess in this country were by far and away the best of any of those running during the 2012 primaries. While I very seldom agree with kieefer, he is correct in stating that Paul is no longer a factor in the political arena. I will add that the only reason this is even hitting the news is because independent constitutionally-minded thinkers and the Tea Party are being attacked by Rove and his ilk. Instead of a having a debate of ideas, the Rovians are engaging in the tactics of the left by focusing on a stupid little comment and try to make a big deal of it. Expect a lot more of this type of petty crap to come over the next two years. Instead of being attacked solely by the left, fiscal and/or social conservative Republicans, constitutionalists, libertarians, etc... are going to have to endure it from the neocons and the establishment.

Whatever happened to.................................

It is true, they are old and look like $hit now Still, at one point during their peak, they were living a lifestyle that most of us would have given our left nut to experience. -
Yeah. I found that video in the comments section of the video you posted. I really wanted to see how bad the damage was. From the first video, it looks like all four tires popped and the suspension broke. It is too bad someone hasn't posted a really in-depth video of the aftermath. I have to admit that this is one of the dumbest things I have seen in a while. It certainly would give someone second thoughts before ever considering buying a used Raptor. ;)

Here is a more detailed (of the damage caused) video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=JKQdlXvbWSU I almost wonder if they were auditioning for Jackass 4.

I finally managed to read Vince Flynn's Killshot. As with all of Flynn's books, it was excellent. I have read several more before that including rereading One Second After (just as good the second time), but nothing was really worth mentioning. Currently I am rereading a book that I read almost a decade ago. It is Richard Preston's The Hot Zone. It is just as scary now as when I first read it so long ago. It is a book that I would highly recommend.

Some of us weren't played at all. One can search through some of my posts right after Newtown where I, AR, and a few others stated that nothing of real importance was going to happen with regards to gun control. I stated then that their main priority was going to be immigration, and that Republicans will probably get stupid and pander to this group in the hope of gaining their vote. Sheesh, I wish the Republicans would take their heads out of their a$$es. Simply looking back from Reagan to the present, one can clearly see that the vast majority of hispanics are going to vote for Democrats regardless of what Republicans promise or do for them. The only Republican representative or senator I have heard from that has made any sense on this issue is Rand Paul. He is for border security first before doing anything about the illegals here. He has even proposed that Congress vote each year on whether the border is being secured before doing any normalization of those already here. I am somewhat moderate on immigration, but this crap Rubio et al. are trying to push sucks and will not fix the problem. I know I am just kidding myself, but I hope people remember all this crap when Rubio decides to run for POTUS. I have already decided that if Rubio or Krispy Kreme Christy win the nomination in 2016, I will be voting third party again.

Didn't know about that one. I will check it out. Thanks.

I use a pen, paper, and a calculator since I don't qualify for the free stuff, and I mail the hard copies. I pay the government and the state of GA enough money, and I will not spend a dime more just to send them even more money. Screw that.
-
That is exactly what we need at this moment in time, not some jerk saying they are gonna start shooting people if they take another inch.

I was wondering the same thing.

You could always resurrect numbnuts.

The point I was trying to making was our federal government created the problem, and it's current policy leads to perpetual war and a loss of civil liberties stateside. Ya know, I honestly don't know what we are actually fighting for in any one of the 75 plus countries our army or SOCOM are engaged in. I am neither a hawk or a dove, but I seriously question whether our federal government is taking the correct course of action. I sometimes wonder if we should disengage from the theater of war and reinstate our founding policy of noninterventionism. Perhaps we should close all our embassies and bases in hostile countries, cut all foreign financial and military aid, and give the message that as long as you don't screw with us, you have nothing to fear from us. I know it will never happen, but I wonder if it would not be for the best that it did.
-
I used to believe that without question. Now, not a word of it. It is my belief that if we, meaning our federal government not the people, hadn't been meddling in middle eastern affairs over the last 5 decades we more than likely wouldn't be in the sitiuation we are in now and would have most certainly saved a lot of lives and money.

$300 Life Membership in National Rifle Association via Tom Gresham

As I said earlier, I am glad this thread was posted. I sent my brother, who lives in the People's Republic of NY, the link, and he is now a life member. -
There is a simple solution to all of this. Don't watch tv.

I honestly don't know why anyone would be surprised by this. This has happened before in this country. In conjunction with the police, the military was used against the Bonus Army in 1932 led by none other than MacArthur, Eisenhower, and Patton. The military will never be used against citizens of this country. Please.

I agree with Major Kong's earlier statement. I would also add that there are people (customers) who are very demanding and are never happy. When times were good and supply was plentiful, they would bitch about some vendor's price being $10.00 too high on a firearm, their ammo was $1.00 a box too much, or they only stock some accessory in only one color. Now that things have become less plentiful, they will bitch about things not being available. As with everything, there are just some people that will never be pleased and will always find something to bitch about. As a side note, there are currently several things I would like to buy, but either they are unavailable with no ETA on restock or the price is more than I am willing to pay. Ya know whose fault it is that I don't have what I want? The guy typing this post. The only person that needs to be bitched as is me, and that is for not being prepared and assuming that there would be plenty of time, and that times would remain good. Lesson learned.

Zero Tolerance 0350: Stonewash or Tiger Stripe serrated blade
mav replied to jimmydeuce's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
I prefer a plain edge (at least on a folder), and I have two of the stonewashed 350s. I also prefer the stonewashed finish to the standard black or tiger stripes.
